It can be bad in the sense that the baby starts to push the ab muscles out and away... So it's kind of impossible to have good form and a giant bump. Which might lead to different results than you desire. If you don't have a giant bump and you're doing it for one min, I don't see the harm.

I would eat all of the ones without meat... except for the avocado/jalapeno one. I'm just too much of a slob and I would paint my face green with it. This would be my top pick: Grilled Cheese with Spicy Havarti, Cilantro Pesto & Roasted Tomatoes

Congratulations! What a darling little face.

I think UK/US rates are too high, but part of the issue in the US is an unofficial ban on vaginal birth after c-section, especially in rural areas. I have to travel 50 miles to a hospital that will do it. As least gasoline is cheaper here! Editing to add - it will be interesting to see if the Affordable Care Act changes…

I think it's wonderful that gluten is listed all over the place now; it must make shopping a lot easier for people who are affected by it and, more importantly, for the clueless people who are trying to feed them ;)

Have half if you can't make up your mind :) My mindset is that if I find myself saying "man, I could really use some goodies today" and then some one brings in goodies, I eat one. If not, I feel better about myself just taking a sniff and closing the box

I think US medical care generally involves a lot more testing, and that can be good or bad, but I will say that nearly every woman I know has a family history of diabetes. Bleh.

It sounds like your doctor is taking good care of you! My understanding is that once you've seen the baby's heartbeat, the risk of miscarriage is dramatically lower. Worrying is normal but try not to!

My goal is to still have a number on my ticker when I deliver, which should occur some time in the next 3-5 weeks. My doctors/midwives really don't give any recommendations.

I'd see the doctor re: the palpitations. The weight loss could be okay or not depending on how the pattern continues.

I set my goal to maintenance for my current weight and go over two or three times/week - I almost never eat under (my maintenance is 1920 and I"ll occasionally have a 1700 day, but it's more common for me to have a 2300 day). My protein is only 75g but I"m a vegetarian and have typically had a lot of trouble breaking 50,…

I ate maintenance plus 3500 calories in the month of Jan and gained 4lbs instead of the one lb that should be associated with 3500 calories. Logged daily including weighing and measuring. My theory,,. Hormones. Water weight. Baby/placenta/amniotic fluid. It is what it is. I do like having a completed diary in addition to a…

Well, the nice thing about this particular thread is that, if you ARE scale obsessed, you can come here and freak out a bit... other women who totally understand the fear of gaining too much weight will a) tell you it's okay to feel how you feel and b) more importantly, reassure you that you're supposed to gain weight,…

I lost around 8lb in my first trimester. 4lbs were intentional, before I knew I was pregnant. The other 4lbs were lost over the next couple of months while I was figuring out my nutrition needs as a pregnant woman, also breastfeeding, also running and doing other workouts. I actually ate a lot of food, the aversions…

Gaining weight is normal and so is the freaking out

Yes, smaller portions are everything for me. I have happily stuffed myself on basic pantry staples, so it would be pretty rough on my family if I just stopped buying anything that I might be tempted to overeat.

The extra 500 number actually builds in a small deficit.. Avg calories burned from exclusively bfing are 670/day. So the 1800 to 2000 number would give you a deficit, and should give you enough nutrition to feed both of you. If low cal has damaged your supply, it may be worthwhile to eat at maintenance while you…

You can opt out of specific friends' photos. I am that way about dumb quotes all fancied up in a graphic.

It could be a couple weeks or a couple months, depending on so many things. You also may be affected hormonally and emotionally and may find this these kind of commitments really overwhelming as you first adjust to motherhood. On the other hand, it sounds like loads of fun, and if it's the type of thing that you can blow…

Most of the meat alternatives are good sources of protein as well... A veggie burger in the toaster oven with a piece of cheese on wheat bread could get you about 30g depending on the type you buy. Nature valley also has newish protein granola bars. All of my other favorite proteins have been mentioned.

Hi! I'm 36 weeks with my third boy. I've made a real effort to eat right/log food, and I'm having a completely different pregnancy (weight wise - I always feel great when pregnant)

Do the boat thing if you're actually going to use the membership. Out of the game options, I think the DS makes the most sense. It's portable and there are a lot of games geared at kids. We love the Wii U for our 7 year old (we have tons of game systems but the other stuff is for my husband) Having a kid the same age...…

Agreeing with everyone... set it to a pound/week and you will be there in no time. I lost about 30lbs in that time frame and it was not a lot of work. I logged faithfully, tried some new stuff like couch to 5k, took some Zumba classes... when the wedding crap really hits over the summer, you'll be SO GLAD you have a…

I just make sure it's soft so I can use less but still coat the surface of whatever it is that needs a delicious buttery taste.

Oh, Lisa, there is nothing more I hate than hearing a doctor ramble on about how "it's probably a one off or maybe it's a rare problem you've never heard of, but let's take some precautions because maybe something is terribly wrong ... or maybe not... either way, don't worry about it. We'll just run 5 million tests. No big…

2 lbs in one week when your hormones are in full swing growing a human... seems totally normal! I know with my first I had a 7lb gain one week, to the concern of my providers, and then went in the next week and weighed exactly the same. I didn't restrict food intake and was probably eating way over what I was supposed to…
