The first hospital I gave birth at, every kept saying, "oh you had GD" because my baby was 10lbs. No. I didn't. The next hospital just had a better atmosphere so when I pushed out an 11lb baby, they just said way to go! Also no GD. The majority of shoulder dystocia occurs with small babies, though. There, that should ease…

I don't think there's anything wrong with you being comfortable with the type of birth you and your baby had. I had a c/s and plenty of my friends have had multiple surgical births. :) Factually, it's not correct to say a c section won't harm future pregnancies. ACOG specifically recommends doctors try to avoid primary…

I was happily surprised to find out that my insurance covers at 100% using an in-network DME. Now I am just trying to find out if any of them offer a Hygeia, as that is my first choice :)

Taste wise I like white rice > red quinoa > brown rice > golden quinoa. Red quinoa definitely has more to offer nutritionally than rice. It's hard to get my hands on it very often since I live in a small town, but red quinoa (and farro) are awesome grains to have on hand when you are trying to get just a little more…

Incidentally, I also read your first post to mean that you were drinking alcohol to try and up your calories while pregnant and thought to myself... hm, not touching that one. Here's to a healthy pregnancy! :drinker:
-
That makes more sense, and healthy is a great approach!

You have been eating 1200 calories and not lost weight, but even gained a couple pounds? Maybe your calorie counting isn't totally accurate. (just a thought!) Just add a little bit extra on top of what you are doing, I don't think you need to try and fit in another 500-800 calories. Definitely focus on getting protein and…

Way early. But check out spinningbabies.org to optimize baby's position. This would be a red flag about the OB to me - a large percentage of c-sections are unnecessary and it sounds like this doctor performs a lot. As far as problems for future pregnancies, VBAC is hard to come by in my geographic area so having a primary…

I enjoy being pregnant and haven't had too many bad symptoms, but I did have a terrible rash after a virus and of course there is nothing you can take except Benadryl. So I was out of work for a week due to a rash. My son was breastfeeding up until 20 weeks but my aversion to nursing was strong that we ended up weaning.…

Both lovely but Gretchen edges it out. In a similar vein, I adore the name Astrid.

I like the name, a LOT! I think it makes more sense to go with Gretchen and not try to make it Gretchan. It just seems like an uphill battle. I don't think anyone is going to pronounce it that way, especially with the accent being on the first syllable. For example, no one says Megan with a short a sound, it usually comes…

Since 20 weeks, it's been harder for me to regulate my weight and no, it doesn't seem gradual at all!!

I thought I hated tea, too, until I drank some that was better quality. (This has actually been true with a lot of foods for me - I had to have them prepared by a pro to actually appreciate them.) Maybe you should check out a tea shop and try something new.
-
Also, it gives them the opportunity to lose it several times instead of just once. Or maybe your hospital operates differently? Mine never had my preregistration paperwork. >.<

I miss running but I was gushing blood and told NO MORE RUNNING. It wasn't the usual, "well we don't recommend but you know whatever." No uncertain terms. There is nothing else I want to do in its place. I wasn't very good at it in terms of distance and speed, only thing I had going for me was consistency...but I look…

I was successful with weight watchers because I am frugal and spending $17/month was motivation for me to log faithfully. I am successful with MFP because I know that logging works for weight loss, and MFP is the easiest way that I've found to log food and exercise.

Not a lot to report :) I am on the tail end and not hitting the third trimester until Dec 1st; I wouldn't surprised if I actually have a March baby. Growing a very active little boy and starting to waddle by the end of the day...

I would try to limp along with a cheap bra in the right size and buy a proper nursing bra after the baby comes. Oh and try the nursing bra on when you're fullest. I bought some that seemed to fit until I got halfway through the next day and popped out of them. Also, I can nurse in a regular bra unless its a full coverage…

Go out once a week instead of every day OR plan very, very carefully... bring half of every meal home for dinner (easier said than done if you have a family). I could certainly fit in a restaurant lunch, but it would mean really restricting all the rest of the day, and I like to give myself more leeway. But you know, 21…

Our local tea store has a blend, and I buy it the Earth Mama Angel Baby brand from Amazon as well. The local brew is more fruity and tasty :)

I would force myself to eat a little of whatever wasn't disgusting, and then I would find I felt more like eating normal food once I had done that. I'm so sorry you had that scary experience!

Plain, large curd. I also will eat it on top of a spinach and tomato salad. Don't really like it with fruit.

We found out that we have are having our third boy. My oldest is a little disappointed but I'm thrilled. We went directly to the maternal fetal specialist for this one, so we actually walked out knowing our baby is healthy and growing just right (with my first two, we went for a regular ultrasound and both times ended up…

There are a million great slings. The suffocation occurs because of positional asphyxiation, which can also be a hazard if you leave your baby unbuckled in the carseat (ie your baby falls asleep in the car, you bring them inside and set them down, and then unbuckle the harness so they will be more comfortable or something)…

Yes, still tracking food and weight. Sometimes I'm a little obsessive about it, but I'm eating plenty of food.

You should see if Amazon Mom Subscribe and Save has good formula deals. You won't even have to go out and buy it, or pay shipping, and you could do the same thing with socking money away toward Amazon gift cards. I know they have some good diaper deals.

I have been wearing maternity tops since the first trimester because why not, but right now at 20+ weeks with my third, I'm wearing regular pants and the smallest maternity pants I have. Most of the full panel stuff I have to keep hiking up, so it's kind of a pain. I went to maternity much faster with my other pregnancies,…
