I personally like hummus, feta, lettuce and turkey in half of a pita. Very delicious and filling...though maybe a bit high in sodium..oh well can't win 'em all!

That is an amazing accomplishment! I walked about 2 miles after work that day in Boston and was sweating profusely...never could have run! EDIT: Just looked at your picture and I go to nursing school with those girls, what a small world!

I've been making some delicious homemade cookies based off of a Betty Crocker recipe (I think) with some minor tweaking. 1 1/4 cups of whole wheat flour 1 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 1 stick of softened butter 1/2 cup of unsweetened apple sauce 1 egg..or 1/4 cup egg substitute if you…

I used to work night shifts as a nurse's aid last year and luckily would have them grouped together for the most part. For the four days that I worked I really just tried to completely reverse myself and eat as normally as possible. I would sleep from 8:30am when I got home to about 4:00p then get up and eat "breakfast"…

ahh SOOOO JEALOUS!! I was just thinking the other day that my life would be complete with an avocado tree. That way I will never be expected to pay $2.99 for one freaking avocado!! I haven't been able to buy any recently because they are so pricey here (in MA)

Wow I'm suprised people say it makes them hungry! My asthma used to be really poorly controlled so if I got a cold I would end up needing prednisone for 10 days and I was nauseous for the entire time! I remember it happened over Thanksgiving one year and I was so sad that I felt too miserable to enjoy any of the food. I…

yum will definitely try soon!

I had a similar issue with my boyfriend who can be such a candy junkie! He would offer treats to me consecutively, so much so that it felt like he was trying to shove it down my throat. I had to explain to him that while I appreciate that he wants to share his tasty food with me, if I say "no" to the first offer then…

I'm about 5'11" and I'm thinking around 160-170 will be my end goal. It all depends on how I look and feel though. Has anyone read The Tall Book by Arianne Cohen? Its a great food for any tall woman =]

This probably isn't very helpful but I buy whatever is on sale or cheaper that week...or what I have a coupon for. I only buy the non-fat plain varieties and I would say that I enjoy them equally. I usually have it for lunch with a little agave nectar, berries and almonds!

111 pounds = red meat an average American eats in a year This is what I've lost since my highest!! I can't wait to have shed an entire supermodel...I'm 5'11" so that is like splitting myself in two and creating a model lol

Mix coffee with some sugar free hot cocoa mix! Then add 2 tbsp of half and half or whole milk. Creamy and tasty with limited calories. EDIT: Just read your aversion to alternative sweeteners...I know the feeling. I personally don't add any sweetener to my coffee and definitely not splenda or those types of sweeteners. If…

I commute to school so I often have to pack a lunch with me so my default is often yogurt with nuts and berries. Apples, pears, bananas, oranges and any other fruit makes a good snack. Vegetables and hummus, pita and hummus I've also started exploring protein and snack bars to eat after class before the gym when I don't…

Hey I'm a 4th year nursing student in a 5 year program and I also have two part time jobs. I eventually had to decide that exercising was a main priority for me so I figured out the best times to fit it in. I usually go after work on Mondays, after clinical on Wednesdays, and after class on Thursday and/or Friday unless…

Anyone use Hemp Protein? I had some Manitoba Harvest Dark Chocolate mixed with soy milk, strawberries and banana this morning and it was pretty awesome. 4 TBSP is 120 calories and 8 g protein...so maybe not as much as some other powders from what it seems other people are responding with but personally I'm not looking for…

Saw this on the message boards a few days ago... "Alcoholic drinks can be a sneaky source of calories, sugar, and even salt — but not when you play bartender. Try to get a few healthier alternatives under that (suddenly much looser) belt to impress friends and family and order with confidence when out at the bar. Here…

I've made these before with just 3 whole peppers and about half a pound of ground beef but you could definitely substitute turkey. I've also use cannelini beans for a vegetarian version that…
