I'm a runner, and I'm slow. But you know what? When I'm running, that's where my mind is. Not on who is seeing me. If I'm driving and I see someone running, I think "I'm jealous. I wish I were running, too." If someone you know or used to know sees you going, they will either cheer you on or feel badly about themselves for…

Thank you, guys. I've decided I'm going to show up and worst case scenario, just walk it. Just showing up is 90% of life, right?

Was in San Antonio for ten years, just got to Austin last week. ANy runners on this thread?

I've been a runner for about four years now, and I can't imagine not running, so I want you to be able to run and know how good it feels too! I suggest you go to a running store that has group runs. There are a lot in my area, so I bet your local store has some social runs too. The reason for the social run is so that you…

I do this too, and it's so good, sometimes I crave it and have to make it fit my macros. I also mix it in with instant chocolate pudding for a bedtime snack.

This looks great! Thank you so much! I'll definitely report back once I make it.

I didn't handle mine very well the first month or so. Comfort food, rum, couldn't focus, was cranky at work, didn't sleep.... But then I reached out to healthy friendships and got a therapist that was covered under my health insurance to help process the emotions and develop different coping skills. Not everyone buys into…

I always have green tea and since I crave carbs, I give in and have whole grains. I try to avoid too much sugar and chocolate because, as you said, it makes me crankier in the long run. I spend more time in the gym, too - that way, people I love don't have to put up with me :)

I made a similar recipe last weekend (only difference was Greek yogurt instead of cottage cheese) and I mixed it with a fork. It came out great! I don't think you'll really need the blender. Even a whisk would work, I bet.

I"m so excited to meet you both! I thought it was a shot in the dark to post that, but I'm glad y'all saw it!

I think I didn't ask the question clearly. I understand cheat meals, and I think they are necessary if only so that we keep our sanity intact. But, what does working out Monday-Thursday and saving those workout calories have to do with a cheat meal Friday night? It seems that some people believe that you if you create a…

I'm not sure what TDEE is. I'm 5'2, 124 lbs, body fat 21%-ish, BMR is about 1600, I eat between 1200-1400/day, weights for 30-40 minutes three/four days a week and I am usually in training for a half marathon. My occupation is a desk jockey, very sedentary. I'm mostly happy with my progress (I've plateaued recently), but I…

My friends often don't understand me, either. I've learned how to suggest different restaurants when we go out so that it's easier and less obvious that I'm making healthier choices (such as sushi instead of a burger joint). I am lucky enought that I have a couple of friends who understand my motivation and my goals, and…

Such an accomplishment! Congratulations! YOU are a RUNNER!

We have donut holes every Friday for our clients. Let's see how I do with this!

Congratulations! Runners run. Period. Lacing up your shoes and getting out there makes you a runner, so you, my friend, are already a runner. The running community welcomes you :)

Runner's World Pasta Alfredo is my go-to pasta recipe - I even use this for company, and I get great compliments. I serve it with grilled chicken breast. Rocco's Fettuccine Alfredo DiSpirito's latest cookbook, Now Eat This!, transforms heart-stopping dishes like this pasta, traditionally laden with heavy cream, butter, and…

I've done the Jillian MIchael's cleanse, too. I was skeptical about it, because I'd always been taught from trainers and nutritionists that the best way to cleanse is to eat clean and drink a ton of water for a week or two, and the liver and kidneys will do the rest. But it was on sale, and my coworker was doing it so I…

Hi! I'm a runner - I've done seven half's and I'm training right now for my first triathlon. I've never done a full, though.
