Bump so I can check back when I have time to look at all the suggestions...I had my phone in my sweatshirt pocket for my walk yesterday and it drove me crazy with the pocket hanging out beneath the bottom hem...gotta find a better alternative.

1974 mint green AMC Gremlin. Held together with band-aids, duct tape, and bondo. Affectionately known as "The Pickle."

That looks really cool. If I ever start biking, I'll have to look into this. Thanks for pointing it out! :)

Cool. So do you all have the regular version or the interactive version? I'm a little concerned with the security of either--not that anyone would necessarily get close enough to look carefully at the regular one but you never know, especially if you wear it all the time. And then the interactive one...they say they work…

I was gonna say I want arms like Linda Hamilton in T2. :)

30 degrees Farenheit in Boston, with about 10" of snow on the ground at home. Happy spring! I hear groundhog tastes like chicken... ;)

I want to look at this later when I'm not running off to work (ok, not running--I've got a 20 mile commute that'll take at least an hour in the car...). Had to comment though because I'm toying with the same idea. Was married for 18 years when the divorce was final, had been with him for 22 years. We are now good friends…

I LOVE my Fitbit. I have an Ultra, which pre-dates the One and the Zip. When this does, I'll be getting the "One." I wear it every day, all day, even for sleep, and feel nekkid without it, lol. You get used to the Fitbit site after a while (they are currently beta testing a live tile type of dashboard, fwiw). I use MFP to…

Bumping to keep on my list of topics. You look AMAZING. I want to read through and look at all the links you suggested when I have more time. Hasfit looks like just what I've been hoping to find! Thank you!!!! And congratulations on your incredible accomplishment.

Some of my favorites are: Come out and play - The Offspring Man in the box - Alice in Chains In the end - Linkin Park I haven't finished compiling my "blood pumping" mix yet so am stealing ideas from this thread. :)

I'll vent. Broke my big toe almost a month ago and while the doc confirmed this morning that it will NOT need surgery after all, he did confine me to "the boot" (post-op flat-soled boot with velcro closures) for another 3 weeks. I used my elliptical machine twice this week but he said not to do that until he clears me. He…

My now 13yo had some great ones when he was younger (circa 3-4yo or so): "I'm a good boy for getting a gumball!" "Moooom! The sun's awake! I can get up now!"

May I ask why you say this? I was taught to support my head with my arms...of course this was back in the 80's when Jackie Sorensen aerobics was The Thing, lol. Is there a physiological reason not to do this anymore? Thanks!

This is what I said originally (and after some quick searching, I realize this may be completely wrong...which is a good reason to take everything on a board full of people with opinions with a grain of salt): I find that supporting my neck with my arms helps. Tuck your chin, cross your hands on the back of your neck,…

This is fascinating. According to your first post, I should be at age 23 instead of my 46 (when I was a kid, I never pretended to be older than 26, lol. I need to read through the rest and make sure I understand. Sounds really neat though! Thank you!

Oooh, yum! I LOVE onion rings but have avoided them while losing weight. This might be a way to enjoy them once in a while. Will have to try different methods of preparing. I like the idea of baking them, maybe with a light coating of extra virgin olive oil from the Misto. :)

About 3 years ago, a friend gave me the leather jacket she'd bought for her 13yo daughter (who hated it). I could barely get my arms into it at the time but thought that maybe someday I'd actually lose the weight. Fast forward to this past weekend when I was digging in the back of the closet for ski pants I thought I might…

I love to sautee some fresh onions and mushrooms, then add them to a large can of diced tomatoes (juice and all) in the crockpot. Then I'll brown a pound of lean ground turkey and toss that in as well. Add some low-fat, low-sodium beef broth, and a splash of dry red (or white) wine, chili powder, and let it cook for a few…

I use my Fitbit to track daily steps, flights of stairs, and sleeping. LOVE that thing. Then I have a Polar FT60 HRM that I use to track my workouts. It's pretty good so far, although you have to buy a separate sync station thingie if you want to get the data onto your computer, and I haven't found the web-based interface…

In the Boston area, we will shovel and go about our business. Or shovel and then sit tight until it's safer to drive. :) Shoveling is great exercise...so is building snowmen, snow wrestling with the kids and dog, making snow angels...

I dislike "Hallmark Holidays." Romance and love don't need a designated day--they are things to enjoy at any time. Cards and little thoughtful gestures are so much more special when there is no apparent reason for them. I am very happily single right now so no fancy plans. Will be working that day, then enjoying dinner…

*bump* I want to refer back to this when I have time to read the whole post. :)

Back left side of my shoulder. :)

I have a Polar FT60 and use the calorie burn from that device for my exercise entry on MFP. The other day I did an hour on the elliptical and got the following: HRM: 280 calories burned Fitbit: 298 MFP: 550 I'd prefer the MFP calculation but honestly....that seems waaaay off to me.

I'm no expert but based on what I've read from others who have demonstrated results on here, and based on what I've found to be true for myself, it's best to mix up the cardio with some weight work. Using weights builds lean muscle, which increases your metabolism, which then helps burn the fat more efficiently.

I was a member of WW for years. When I got pg with my 2nd baby, I had just joined an At Work group. Based on my experience with my 1st baby (9 lb. net gain), I asked my OB about staying on WW to help provide dietary guidance and accountability. I calculated my points needs and they were within my nutritionist recommended…
