  • Yes, I love this new menu. I enjoyed the turkey club w/ side salad.
  • Thanks for the suggestions everyone!!! I'll let you know how it goes once I find something new over the weekend! :)
  • THIS! Plus eating well, drinking water, going outside in the sunlight, getting out of the house every day, being social, etc... Get a full physical and bloodwork from your PCP to measure hormones, thyroid, etc. If you do medication, it's better in conjunction with therapy so you can work on the chemical and emotional…
  • Sounds like you've got it all figured out though!! 2-3 hours will go by fast with all those activities...
  • So, Designer Whey just changed their chocolate formula and now is "Gourmet Chocolate". I do not like the new taste; too medicinal, almost malt-y tasting, and this can't be covered up with 1-2T of Instant Breakfast. Time to try another new powder-- anyone know of good ways to sample products or have brands they love?
  • Let your body get used to your new routine for a few weeks, then see what your numbers looked like. I notice that's what it takes for my body to adjust accordingly to where I think my losses should be.
  • You look great! How did you lose all that weight since February?! That's a really fast loss...
  • That's awesome willpower!!! :) I know what you mean about the coupon thing. My husband and I used to keep them on the side of the fridge for when we needed them, but now we no longer keep them. Tonight we made delicious homemade turkey burgers-- complete with cheddar, 1 slice fully-cooked Oscar Meyer bacon, and 50 calories…
  • Wow, you look great!! I'm at 234 right now, so seeing the progress you've made from about that weight is inspiring!
  • General Advice: See your doctor about the insomnia-- maybe you can get a good medication or be checked out for other issues that may be interfering with your sleeping/eating. Also maybe seek some counseling so you can deal with your issues. Bedtime Advice: Find a good bedtime routine that relaxes you-- do the same thing…
  • YOU LOOK AMAZING! I'm 5'4" and hover between 232-234 pounds as my typical range. I've started using MFP this year, and am just getting back to tracking daily after taking a couple of stressful months off. Seeing what my body could be like in a year is so inspiring!
  • Any other thoughts on using ACV, or possibly Cinnamon? I'm looking for a way to boost what minimal weight loss I have...
  • I've recently gotten back into the swing of things with lunches... I agree with the high protein, high water intake that's echoed throughout the replies. I personally love grilled chicken with avocado in pretty much any form. I'm a person who loves texture in meals, so I enjoy packing a lot of "munchy vegetables" (ie-…
  • Any new ideas to this? I've recently been making my own chocolate protein shakes with unsweetened almond milk and have been trying to find a good brand. My first bottle is Designer Whey from Trader Joe's-- a bit medicinal, so I cut it with a little Instant Breakfast powder (1-2 T) to make it taste better. I'm open to…

  • I'm a fan of drinking my breakfast on the way to work... ie- Special K protein shakes, making your own almond milk shakes, etc. I also bring oatmeal with me in a coffee cup and eat it on the way instead of at home to save time. If you have a coffee craving, I like the reduced-fat turkey bacon sandwiches from Starbucks.
  • Up 2.8 pounds since last weigh-in in April. Not too much gain, but bummed since I'd lost 6 since being on the site and am now half that. Motivated!! :)
  • There are 2 PCOS groups on MFP that I know of, and am a part of: TTC, Pregnancy, & Postpartum Fitness PCOS Cysters Losing Together
  • I tried it for the first time today, as well. I bought Trader Joe's Unsweetened Vanilla-- tastes similar to skim milk, but more almond-y obviously. Had it this morning in my Grape-Nuts. Plan to use it in cereal, and eventually make protein shakes... I sometimes need an on-the-go option, and have been looking for a…
  • Just create a recipe in the Recipes section... you can add all the ingredients you used, and enter how many servings it was. :)
  • This life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • I'm also a ranch lover, and I now only buy Bolthouse Farms Classic Ranch Yogurt Dressing. I find it to be even more wonderful than Hidden Valley-- nicer texture and more flavor!! Nutrition Facts for 2 Tablespoons: 45 calories (30 from fat) 3g fat 0.5 saturated fat 5mg cholesterol 270mg sodium 3g carbohydrates 0 fiber 2g…
  • I've had a rough week, too. It's my girly time of the month, combined with a busy work week and desire for sweets (see beginning of sentence)! I've made and eaten banana chocolate chip bread, and ate 3 donuts at work one day. I've been slacking on drinking enough water, even though I love it. I've also been out to dinner 3…
  • 1.) Try talking with your friend about it. I'd imagine it's "sudden" to you, but not to her. I've been in your shoes before and it sucks! 2.) Journal-- either pen and paper or typing it all out. It's amazing how it cleanses the brain! 3.) Cry and cry some more. 4.) Take a hot shower. 5.) Drink tea. 6.) Entertain yourself…
  • I overate tonight due to having an extremely exhausting week. I've been sleeping about 6 1/2 hours per night and working 12, plus handling basic household responsibilities. Thank goodness I hit the gym 3 times this week! My guilt pizza tonight was from Domino's... PLUS parmesan bites PLUS some Cinnamon Stix. But now of…
  • That's what I do! I also don't get home til 7:30pm and hit the gym after 8pm... I don't mind eating/snacking before bed if I'm hungry, and try to choose smaller things like a multi-grain Thomas english muffin w/ Smart Balance spread (or w/ an egg if I'm craving protein) or cereal. Sometimes I'll just drink tea before bed…
  • That is amazing! Fantastic job! I was size 20 at my heaviest and been an 18 for several years... I am motivated to be in a smaller size, but can't imagine fitting in a 9! What an inspiration you are!! :)
  • Yes to the above. Talk with your husband openly and honestly, as he is your partner in all of life's journeys! If he's not willing to support you in this effort, that can definitely be damaging to the bond you and your husband share. Saying it is "his" problem is not really true, as you are married to each other (for…
  • There's a PCOS group w/ 400+ members... It's called "PCOS Cysters Losing Together". PCOS is a *kitten*! Good luck in your journey, handling the good days and bad ones!
  • I love drinking water, but I always drink more if it's readily available so I constantly keep a water bottle or cup w/ straw near me to remind me to keep drinking. If you really don't like the taste, maybe try adding lemon or cucumber or some kind of flavor mix to it. Good luck!
