  • Gen, thank you so much for the shout out to my website. Your story was incredible and really brought a lot of value to both the site and your "fans" on MFP. In fact, you are my #1 story so far! I've read through this post and saw that a number of people are interested in hearing more detail about your transformation,…
  • Week 8 Update: This past week was an utter disaster in terms of bulking. I had to travel out of town on business during the first half of the week, putting in 12 hours + days, so I had no gym time. I was also so busy that I didn't really eat enough either. When I got back to town, I had a ton of work to do on a new website…
  • Thanks everyone!
  • Thanks Brent! This week was a total disaster, but I'm back on the wagon tomorrow :)
  • That's the idea, but I only did 1 last time due to a pulling sensation in my lower abs. I had pulled 335 the week before and didn't fully set up for 275. Rookie mistake. I've been out of town for a few days, but tomorrow I'll give it another go.
  • Miss and Tiffany, good job for seeking that healthy weight gain. Keep us posted and reach out if you need anything.
  • Week 7 Update: I switched to Stronglifts this week to do a comparison between my old hypertrophy program to this one. I don't want to make any judgments yet, so we'll just see how it goes over time. I made a real effort to lower my fat intake this week since it was higher than I wanted. Fortunately, I was successful.…
  • I can't post my PR's when you bench my Deadlift! Kidding, awesome work. I just switched to a strength routine, looking forward to seeing those numbers go up!
  • ^^ So, are you going to try to change that now?
  • I can help you with the first question, though I don't really have the answer you are looking for. Unfortunately, pretty much any bulk is going to be associated with a fat gain and there isn't too much you can do about that if you really want to maximize the muscle building aspect as well. I'm dangerously close to losing…
  • Oh, I forgot the most important thing - Welcome!
  • Glad you are moving in the right direction. Question though, almost everyone here would recommend beginning a lifting program in conjunction with your weight gain. This helps some of the weight gained to be muscle instead of it all being fat. This would help with your concerns about a "distorted body". How long is the no…
  • I've had to adjust calories a few times in the 7 weeks I've been bulking. No biggie. You are keeping track, so you can adjust as necessary. I second the 225 bench. Mine has always sucked. However, like MrM27, my true love is Deadlifts :)
  • I'm noticed the same thing. I am just now beginning to create a website that talks about peoples transformation stories, to include the "how they did it" portion. That is usually lacking in the threads here. Anyway, its so hard to find people that have had success gaining weight/building muscle! I think the changes are…
  • Welcome, are you trying to gain weight?
  • My first bulk, I used calipers but from what I've read, they tend to read lower than what the actual BF is. I experienced the same thing and a few of my friends on here agree. Now, I use on Omron handheld body fat analyzer. It costs about $40 on amazon and its great. Both I and my wife use it. I even bring it to work to do…
