  • I can't believe no one has said this yet, but that is absolutely ONEderful!!!! Keep up the hard work and all your dreams will come true. : )
  • I love that too!! However, I kinda suck at it. LOL
  • It sounds like you really need to take a little "me" time and get the excersize in that you need. It will give you time to clear your head and believe that everything will be okay. Whether you are religious or not, you have to have faith. A little time for yourself out running or working out will give you the time to…
  • If I may, P90X seems like a great program (a friend of mine lost a ton of weight doing it), but just make sure you are building a lifestyle you can maintain. I quit going to the gym two and a half years ago and gained 65lbs. during that short period of time. Now I am working my tail off to get rid of it. You CAN do this,…
  • I find that if you hunt through the posts for the good people, add them as friends, then you can have some great conversations on each others walls. *takes the sting out of the forums*
  • Okay folks, here's my 2 cents. I have grown up and lived my life as an overly sensitive man. It took me a long time to adjust to this, but I found some simple philosophies which have allowed me to retain some confidence. First off, I don't think there is anything "nice" about obsessing over someone. Being fiercly needy and…
  • That's pretty cool! Where do you get one of those scales?
  • Brown leather Sketchers. Simple and comfortable. : D
  • Tell me more...
  • I see the calorie count hit 4 digits and there are little pools of sweat on either side of the elliptical trainer. Honestly though, I do this 10-12 times a week, so I can't afford to be unable to move when I am done. I manage my heart rate 150-160 bpm and manage to put in the full hour twice a day without getting stiff or…
  • I took one at the beginning and I am planning to take one every two months. I have found in the past that taking them too often can be a little discouraging for me. The feeling of loose clothes is far more uplifting for me than seeing before and after pictures of just a couple of weeks of effort.
  • I have a friend who cheats on his wife when he can. I feel badly, but all I can do is to try and set a good example. He knows that I am completely honest with my girlfriend and don't believe in cheating or lying. He will always be my friend, but I would never put myself into a situation where I needed to trust him.…
  • An hour of elliptical this morning before work and an hour of elliptical this afternoon afterwork.
  • Honestly, I was definitely a night owl too, but you can adjust. This morning I was yawning all the way to the gym, but once I got on the elliptical I was right back into it. Trust me, the workout will help you wake up.
  • So far I agree with almost every selection already mentioned, but I thought I would add one more: Gattaca, "There is no Gene for the Human Spirit" Kind of reminds me of all of us, struggling to exceed people's expectations for us.
  • I am using the machine to measure the burn, but I have to note that my heart rate typically rates at the very high end of cardio for the entire workout. I monitor my heart rate throughout the workout to make sure I don't have a heart attack and to pull it back down when it gets to high (by easing off and breathing deeply).…
  • In the morning I would push hard on the elliptical and burn around 900 calories in about an hour. After work I would put in another hour on the elliptical and depending on whether it was a really hard burn (my max on the elliptical was 1109 calories) or a slower day (another 900 calories), I would add a half hour inclined…
  • I don't know about your body, but my body is asleep at 2am and doesn't use anywhere near the calories as it does when I am up and working at 2pm. Metabolism vs consciousness?
  • Not to mention that the last time I had a full Baja salad at Wendy's I found out after the fact that it was 730 calories. It wasn't even baconlicious! (although still pretty tasty)
  • I usually weigh myself 3 times a day. Once in the morning (my official weight) Once when I get home from the gym after work (my wishful thinking weight) Once before I go to bed (compared to my following morniing weight it lets me know if my metabolism is still working) I use all of this information to keep myself on track…
  • I thought that too and tried making them at home one week and found that the contents were somehow costing me more than buying them from Subway. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but at $3 for a 6 inch sub, it was hard to beat. Note: I do not work for, own a franchise of, or stock in Subway. I just like cheap and easy food!
  • I TOTALLY agree. However, with that said, I usually opt for the 6 inch Ham, just because it is cheaper and very close in calorie content to the Turkey. Either way it is a great, filling meal with very reasonable calorie content!
  • Check with your doctor, but if you only just started eating vegetables that frequently, it could take your body a couple of days to adjust. It is healthy to eat vegetables, but I have experienced some stomach pains when I eat larger portions of vegetables after a long period without.
  • Especially for my Fridays. Every Friday evening my girlfriend and I enjoy a bottle of red wine while watching a movie at home. I plan my meals to compensate for the calories I need for the wine. Cheers!
  • Well, hello from Kanata (originally from North Bay [Greco's is the best!!!!]) Feel free to add me. I just got started and I try to tell as many people as possible about this site. What a fantastic tool! - Bill
  • What can I say? It's still the best way to get an elliptical machine without someone working out 6 inches away from you.
  • Danyelle On the left 36, on the right 16
  • It is not the industrial process that adds salmonela to chickens. Salmonela occurs normally out in the real world. Free roaming chickens are just as likely if not more likely to have salmonela than ones that are being carefully controlled by a company with its reputation on the line.
