I do not know to be honest, it seems strange, I know. I have experimented a lot with foods for satiety since this has been a challenge for me while counting calories and this is one of the stranger ones :-) But as long as it works, I guess.

Greek yogurt with 1 tbsp ground flax seed. I know that 1 tbsp sounds like a lot, but it makes me full for hours. I usually eat 150 ml of greek yogurt. Just make sure that you are used to eating ground flax seed. Interestingly, oatmeal does nothing for me when it comes to satiety, if I eat it, I will be hungry within one…

Same here. On 1500 calories (custom) and doing very little exercise. Have often done the 1200 or exercised at least 1 hour a day. This never was a permanent thing and I realized my problem was with portion control and emotional eating :-D So now I am working more on building healthy eating habits than losing a lot. On my…

Been logging for a week now - so a newbie :-) But I plan on weighing myself very rarely as I know from experience that it can completely stop me and remove any motivation I might have. I will be weighing myself no more than once every month or perhaps even less. But only because my focus is on teaching myself to eat…

I have the same problem. I have discovered that having fruit (for sweet cravings) works pretty good. But not apples and such - I make sure I prioritize e.g. melon, grapes or strawberries even though that type of fruit is more expensive. However, on the days where fruit does not work, I buy a chocolate bar... ONE bar (again…

Thank you very much Dream24601! And GURLEY_GIRL3 I give you a 9, you do look very girly and have the "bombshell" look

Russellbrand6: I also like something going on while I eat, maybe the trick can also be to not have too much focus on the fact that you are eating? If stuff has been served on a plate and portioned correctly losing a bit of focus won't hurt too much, aye.

Benol1: Thanks for the advice! Will look at that. Kbeech06: Exactly. I also grew up eating quickly, I would be told to finish my meal already! So that stopped me in eating slowly and listen to my stomach essentially giving me a bad relationship with food. But I am getting better at it  Thanks

Even though the cliches seldom work and maybe just show how insecure some are (including me) I like this saying, albeit a bit angry and negative: You are fat! I: "Well yeah, but I am working on it and can lose that weight, you will always be ugly on the inside, try losing that!" I would have used that saying years back…

Best post ever! I need to understand that this is a lifechange and NOT just a diet  Thanks for posting this, thanks!

Hi there! I had about 66 pounds to lose when I first started, now I have about 17 pounds to go, so almost there! I just want to maintain that weight when I get there, for me (as for most people I think) that will especially be the hard part. I hope to build up at healthy relationship with my food these last few steps…

That is awesome! It's easy to see the difference, you look more defined in your second picture. Way to go!

Hexahedra: Thanks! Been looking for relevant readings about the subject :-) Elcmum: Exactly! But have you ever noticed that it can have the opposite effect as well? The last couple of days I have been eating slooowly while watching tv or browsing the web and I have experienced that I then take longer to eat. I don't know…

AnsiStar: Thank you again. I will give the smaller plate a shot hoping it will make a difference :-D

What really worked for me was completely leaving out any meats, fish and poultry. I understand this is not for everybody and will mostly work if you eat very unhealthy meat products. I dropped 40 pounds from quitting meat and fish and doing nothing else, I didn't work out more either so it's definitely a possibility…

AnsiStar: Thanks for the advice, will definitely think about chewing a longer time. Maybe the two can be combined? Chewing more and also slower :-) I will from today, serve my food on a smaller plate. I like the thought of eating less of the "real thing" to not feel deprived, I think that is a part of achieving a better…

Hi there! Not overweight after a big weightloss. But I still want to drop a larger amount (somewhere between 10 and 20 pounds) you might call them vanity pounds :-) And also really focus on maintaining my lower weight combined with a more controlled and balanced way of eating. I want to have a comfortable relationship with…

Wow! I have the same numbers as you. Started out at almost 90 kg and am 169 cm tall. Down to 70 now. If I look half as good as you at 60 kg - I will be stoked!

You're such an inspiration! Well done :-D
