  • Saturday Success/Sunday Share September Goals: 1. Back to the Future: ~ My goal is NOT to go back into the future and live my old ways. I've been trying so hard to keep motivated and keep pushing. I do not want to fall back into those old pitfalls. I have become comfortable with my new ways of life and I want to keep…
  • Friday Fitness: My goal for the weekend is to stay under my calories and continue my 5k training even though my family will be in town and we will be at the family reunion. :) I called my dad last night to let him know that if the fam wanted junk food or sodas that they would have to bring some since I don't keep them in…
  • I'd like to retract my previous statement about not being prepared for my C25K...I ran 25 whole minutes today. Me...the lazy, non-motivated, fatty...successfully ran 25 minutes! NSV- I was in the gym getting ready to run and a lady that is in there when I am sometimes flagged me out of my headphones and said to me, "I just…
  • ThursdayTruth: Storm is almost out of here and NO DAMAGE! Yay! We kept power the entire time except for about 45 seconds at 3:15 this morning. As soon as the rain relents again, I'm going to haul tooshie to the gym to get my C25K workout in. I'm getting nervous about my 5k. It's next weekend and I'm starting to feel very…
  • Wednesday Wish: That Hurricane Isaac will pick up the pace and mosey on out of here and that everyone stays safe. They cancelled school today for our kiddos and we haven't had the first but of rain or heavy wind. I guess they are worried about what is supposed to be coming this afternoon, so we will see. My second wish is…
  • Tuesday Goals: ~ To enjoy this weather before the hurricane hits late tonight and go do my jog outside. ~ Get everything squared away...grades included ~ Make sure my family is handled. ~ Check on my friend in the hospital. (She is 32 weeks pregnant and they are admitting her for either toxemia or preeclampsya (sp?) and…
  • Monday Check In: Sorry I've been MIA today, but we are gearing up for this stupid hurricane/tropical storm that is in the Gulf and I have a few of my family members who are evacuating out of Gulf Shores coming to crash a few days. I have spent my evening cleaning and washing clothes. I still have sooooo much to do, but at…
  • Sunday Share: Had a bit of a mental breakdown yesterday, non-weight related, and had to take a day for me. I guess you don't realize that when you lose somebody, that sometimes that hurt still pops up and can strangle hold you, but it can. I wrote a blog about it and I feel better now, I'm just hoping that I can put my…
  • I'm Jana. 26 trying to lose 120 (now 109). Been on here for little over 3 months now and have managed to lose and keep off 13lbs. :) Working towards my first 5K in two weeks. MFP is a great community and everyone is super nice. :) It's a great way to keep motivated and there are lots of neat places to get advice and see…
  • Saturday Success: I successfully avoided eating any Gooey Brownie Butter Bars last night, even though I had to be the one to cook them. They smelled so good, but then I looked at my cals and remembered I was in the red and it just wasn't worth it. My steak dinner was though...LOL! I successfully ran 2 10 minute spurts…
  • Friday Fitness: I successfully ran two sets of 10 this morning with only a 3 minute break! I was so shocked that I was able to do it! :D I wasn't even tired. I found the key to success and that is to cover the countdown on the treadmill so I stop focusing on how far I have left to go. I just told myself things like, "After…
  • Thursday Truths: So today I decided that I'm throwing my scale out the window and buying another one. I seriously think something is wrong with it, because it sits at the same number EVERY DAY! It's one that you manually set to zero, and I made sure that it is exactly on zero and on a completely flat surface. However, my…
  • Wednesday Wishes: Well I actually got my wish last night and that was to get everything completed for this week at school so I could take a break one night and have some "me" time. Well I get to successfully do that tonight! Hooray! All the papers are graded, signed paper folders done, AND grades are in the gradebook!…
  • Tuesday Goals: Yesterday was a good day at work, but I was a little overwhelmed with everything that I needed to get done. I worked until about 10:30 last night and managed to get a pretty good handle on things. I still have about 6 stacks of papers to grade (25 per stack), but it's okay. I know I'll get it done in plenty…
  • Monday Check-In: Was scheduled to run 20 mins straight today. I only managed about 16 because I literally thought I was going to die. My legs felt like Jello and my breathing got a little away from me. I even turned the speed down and it didn't seem to help. I ended up having to take 4 1-minute walk breaks in order to make…
  • Sunday Share: I just signed up for my second 5K and my first 10K. (I'm running my first 5K in September) I'm super stoked about it, but nervous too. My friend and I have an agreement that if we complete our 10K's in a good enough time, we are signing up for a half marathon in Disney that is taking place in late February…
  • Annie, I can empathize. I'm only 26 and when I started I was in a size 26. I vowed NEVER to get any bigger than that. It has taken 65 days, but I'm into a size 22 comfortably. I have started working out daily and I'm feeling healthier. However, I still have days when I wonder if it's even all worth it. Especially after…
  • Saturday Success: While seeing a friend yesterday, I had my hands on my hips while talking to her. She stops mid-sentence and goes, "Hold on a minute. You got your hourglass shape back." I just smiled so big! It's been so long since I've had a "shape" that it meant a lot that she noticed. I have successfully gotten up…
  • Thanks to everyone who pm'ed me to let me know what happened with the other thread. I saw that girls message on the board and then everything just stopped. That's just nuts. Odds are she wouldn't have hung around long anyway. @Robin, thank you for creating this new thread. I'd hate to lose all of you. :)
  • Friday Fitness: After arguing with my alarm clock and NOT believing that it was already 5am, I snoozed until 5:30 and finally drug myself out of the bed to do my morning workout. Today was not a C25K day, so all I planned on was doing the 30 Day Shred anyway. For the weekend, I'm still planning to workout daily as I have…
  • I think that is a perfectly acceptable speed to lose weight. I've been on MFP for 8 weeks and I've lost 13. It's less than two pounds a week, so it should be permanent as long as you keep doing what you are doing! :) You are always such an inspiration.
  • I am so happy for you! There is nothing better than shopping in your own closet, or buying clothes off the rack! I can't wait until I can start shopping in the misses section again! You have really inspired me today :)
  • @Skinnyjeanz- Thanks for finding that! I do have mild allergies as the seasons change, but I didn't realize that running could trigger them. That's so interesting. And all this time I thought I was strange! LOL! I think I might try the bandana thing. I am not sure my poor shirts can handle anymore...haha!
  • So I woke up this morning and felt a little woosy, almost like I had fish swimming around in my head. I've never had that before and thought it was a little strange. I managed to get up and head on to workout anyway. I did my C25K and then came back upstairs and did the 30 Day Shred. After my workout the swimmy headedness…
  • Sending up a prayer now. :)
  • Thought this was fitting to share: "It's impossible" said pride "It's risky" said experience "It's pointless" said reason "GIVE IT A TRY" whispered the heart Sometimes when I think things are impossible, I just have to remember that it IS impossible if I don't atleast give it a try! :) Happy Wednesday All!
  • Wednesday Wish: I wish this weather would hold off long enough for me to get outside and walk, but it doesn't look like it is going to. :( I guess I'll just have to meet with Jillian tonight. Had a good day today. Slept until 6am, which is LATE for me, but still made it to work on time and managed to have a great and…
  • Tuesday Goals: My goals for this week are: ~ to get to Week 5 of C25K and dominate the 8 minute run! ~ Continue to drink water daily (I haven't had a soda in almost a month!) ~ Continue working out even when I'm tired in the mornings and if I don't work out in the mornings, do a full session after work ~ Eat more…
  • Monday Check In: I had a pretty good weekend. I went over Friday night, but I'm okay with it because I was celebrating and it was under 200 cals. :) I was under today after I exercised and I was under Saturday and Sunday night even though I REALLY wanted some sweet potato fries. (I I had a major NSV this morning. I was…
  • Sunday Share: So I totally have the BEST boyfriend on the planet! He just bought me Brantley Gilbert tickets for when he comes to Jackson for the fair in October! However, the stipulation to them is that I have to finish my 5K in September. If finishing a 5K is all that stands between me and Brantley, no worries. That race…
