Just go back to your normal diet. Don't skip eating unless you really, truly aren't hungry. Do your best to make smart choices today, and don't beat yourself up about yesterday. It was one day out of thousands. Everyone, everywhere has gone over their calorie limit at least once.

Here's my advice: buy rice and beans/legumes in bulk. Make the beans in big batches and fridge/freeze them to eat throughout the week. Supplement this with either on-sale fresh veggies, or frozen ones. If you can find cheap cuts of lean meats like chicken or tilapia you can use that for your protein too. In my area, beans…

75 minute Taekwondo class tonight. I've been away for a week so I'm super excited!

I don't log spices or non-caffeinated teas. I do try to log everything else, though sometimes I don't bother with salt because I don't have any sodium-related issues so it's not important for me. I sometimes will have a late-night snack after I've turned my computer off, and then forget to back-log it the next day, oops.…

Thanks for posting this.

I would suggest upping your intake by 100 calories each week for a month, and see if that gets you anywhere. 1300 for one week, then 1400, then 1500, etc. If you start experiencing more weight loss at any of those net intakes then obviously stick with it, since everyone's BMR and maintenance levels are different. I…

Interesting! I always like knowing the number of people actually surveyed. The results don't surprise me, though. I ride the bus everywhere so I spend a lot of time watching people. It's kind of shocking how many overweight/obese people I see when I take the time to pay attention to body types, and even beyond that, a lot…

20. I'll be 21 in less than a month!

Hemp and pea are the ones I've seen recommended most, though I haven't tried them. I know several brands of each are available on Amazon and come with good reviews.

Haha, well I haven't BEEN to a doctor since I was 11. Maybe I should have clarified. So unless the government has spies in my bathroom there is some extrapolation happening somewhere.
-
Well, if you aren't getting enough protein you are obviously going to have a more difficult time building muscle ("toning"). And if you're working out a lot you may actually be losing muscle instead. Which protein you choose to add to your diet is purely personal preference.

It sounds like she can't do it herself so she has to crush the efforts of everyone else in her life. Typical "let's all be miserable together" attitude. Gross.

This is what I wonder. I haven't been weighted by a doctor since I was around 11 years old. Neither have a lot of my friends/family. Are they just extrapolating based on the numbers they do have?

16 and above in US sizing though with all of the variances between brands it is almost impossible to give a definitive answer. I tried on a pair of size 4 jeans the other day that were HUGE on me, and I usually size pretty consistently, ugh.

I write, cook and bake (I love making bread and all kinds of Italian food, just wish there were more people in my life so I could do it more often) and I've been into Taekwondo for a little over three years now. EDIT: I'm also kind of a giant nerd. I guess that counts as a hobby? I have a pretty big comic book and dvd…

If you work on your core strength you will definitely see improvements: your skin will tighten and you will get some muscle definition which helps to reduce the poochy appearance that so many of us are plagued with. I try to get a variety of crunches in every night, and I also practice martial arts, which is great for core…

My face can't decide whether to be amused or mortified. Oh my goodness that is priceless.

I don't see what's wrong with wearing a sports bra sans shirt to the gym. I thought that was common. The few men who are convinced that short-shorts are still a thing are pretty hilarious though, ngl.

I drink plain water, sometimes with a slice of lemon or kiwi, plus one cup of coffee in the morning. If you like the taste of juice you can try doing what my dad does. He buys one container of juice and waters it down enough to make three containers' worth. It ends up saving a lot of money, and isn't nearly so sweet and…

5'6", 126lbs. I wear a US size 4, though they are a bit loose. If I wanted a tighter fit I'd have to go down to a 2.

Oh, man, kneading dough is a great upper body workout. On paper it looks simple, but when it's a recipe that requires 10+ minutes your arms will definitely feel it. I make Stollen for all my relatives every Christmas and by the end of it I swear my arms aren't attached to my body anymore. /bread-baking story

I think it's a bit pedantic sometimes, but I don't blame anyone for wanting that nice, shiny notice of "so-and-so's burned XX calories doing XX activity". It's a reward for doing something they might not have done otherwise. Plus, taking the trash down the driveway at my house involves a half-mile hike, so if I was a…

If you are set to lose 2 lbs a week then yes I would expect you to be feeling hungry. That's a big deficit for your body to adjust to. It will probably take several weeks for your body to accept this as the new "normal". You might want to re-work your meals in the meantime so that you can have some more snacks throughout…

How many calories are you eating per day? How much weight are you trying to lose? MFP is highly customizable so without knowing your exact profile it's hard to tell if something is wrong.
-
I have trail mix, oriental rice crackers and fruit. I managed to break my snacking habits by eating regular, set meals and upping my water intake (and just plain not buying any snacks lol).
-
I don't think you have to eat back ALL of your exercise calories every day you work out, though you should definitely be eating back some of them and your net should be 1200 or over. If you are having a difficult time reaching that number invest in some high calorie, high protein and/or good fat after-workout snacks.…
-
It's not bad at all. MFP has a very low standard setting for protein, so I'm not surprised you are going over it. I try to reach at least 90 grams per day, personally.

5'6" HW: 144 SW: 138 CW: 126 GW: I don't have one. I'm happy with my size right now (US size 4, waist measurement of 26"), I just want to add more muscle and lower my body fat percentage, which will probably end with me weighing more, but looking even better. I have a small frame and narrow-ish hips, but I'm…

My homemade thin crust pizza (homemade dough, fresh mozzarella & parmesan, tomato sauce) works out to be 700 cals for half a 12" pie. I load up on the cheese though, since I only make it once a month as an indulgence. Most of the calories in margherita pizza come from the cheese, so if it was low on that you might be a bit…
