Thanks. Surgery is Thursday and then they said 4-6 weeks off. I have been doing C25K just to keep me running a little bit and my knee seems to tolerate it for the most part... I figure I cannot hurt it any worse!

My history is totally different as I had a fall but I day after my fall I got knee pain at about 7 or so miles into an planned 8 mile run. Every time I would run after that I would get pain at about mile 2. Went to doctor and got diagnosed as having "runner's knee." Did the rest he suggested. Pain started again as soon as…

Are we to go by the actual food calories eaten eating or the net for our calorie count for the day?

Did someone say ice cream??!! Sorry cannot post right now, I need to get to my freezer ASAP!

I don't have any words of wisdom but run because you can... I am currently with a knee injury and cannot run and I want to so bad! Foo Fighters are great to listen to while running! Good luck on your tomorrow run and in Paris!

Well, I had a slight gain this week... looking back on my weekly summary for the past 2 weeks, I have been nearly 1000 calories each week under my net. So going to bump up the calories. I believe I do eat fairly healthy for the most part. I am going to start adding in some nuts for extra calories. Course, by next week, I…

Just curious if I should worry about my net being under my BMR (1400).

any other perspectives on this... I am done eating for the day and although I ate 1689 calories, my net was only 1242.... if you look at my diary, I eat quite a bit and I don't really want to eat more.

Thank you for all the information... I think it may be a good program for me to follow while I am recovering from knee arthroscopy and not as active as I normally am.

People, myself included, will go in and either bump a post to have it go back up to the top of the list or for reference for reading later... anything you post in, it will be easier to search your topics and find it if the subject you want to read further gets moved back a couple pages... make sense??

I did not really have time to read through all the comments... yes, she looks fantastic... hands down... Yes, weight lifting is great for women (not barbie weights) but she obviously was thin, in good shape before her transformation both through hard work and surgical enhancement. Cardio is still a crucial element to the…

When I was incorrectly diagnosed with runner's knee, the doctor told me no bicycling as that is hard on the knee but said I could do elliptical.... turns out, through second opinion, I have a meniscus tear... so if you knee does not get better with rest, treatment, etc... get second opinion... my tear came from a fall, not…

Was going to post similar topic myself... I am 5'5 and weigh about 152 currently. I feel my thinnest when I am in the upper 130s... but what really floored me was the difference in sizes that we wear. I can wear size 4 jeans in a certain brand. Other brands I am a 6. When I am at my goal weight, or a little less (but still…

I personally do better when I "control" my own meals... that being said, at times I tend to "hibernate" when really trying to track but most times if I want to go out to dinner, to a party, etc.... I don't bother tracking and give myself a freebie... but you may not have a choice yourself doing business lunches, etc... all…

With the knee issue I am currently having, tai chi chuan might not be for me... my acupuncturist only does qigong and although not thin by any means has great muscle tone.. I just need something "gentle" to get me through my recovery

Guess I never made it past phase 1...

anyone?? :flowerforyou:

before you try atkins, ask yourself if you really want to eliminate a food group? maybe atkins is not as strict as it was when it first came out and got better about going towards healthy fats, but wouldn't you rather eat a well rounded diet and not cut something out. You can still do a lower carb diet without the…

Actually, even if I eat it in moderation, I have when under stress, boredom eaten a practically a whole jar of pb in one sitting. Having the pb2 helped me not binge on pb because I knew I had another alternative and I have not had a pb binge since I started using pb2 - and I even have pb in the house because my hubby and…

my local grocery store actually started selling it... Giant. I love it to dip bananas or apples in or put in shakes... I tried mixing it with the water to make a pb and J sandwich but not exactly the same, not bad though. I also read that you can add oil to make it creamier, but I guess that defeats the purpose!

seriously, butter in coffee... I love butter, love coffee, not sure the combo sounds good though...

any suggestions for the (for lack of a better word) total *****iness?? :blushing:

If it is a tendinitis, will probably take more than a week to heal. Some here have told me to just warm it up and work through it but I was having constant pain and sticking with rest, ice and wearing my brace. Since not significantly improved since I last saw doctor, I will probably be getting a shot in it come knee…

eat until you are satified, let yourself have a treat... but I would not feel obligated to eat all the calories..

depends on your overall level of fitness currently. If totally knew to working out, I would start out with just walking until you find that not challenging/too easy. Then I would do couch to 5K. great program!
