As a mom to a 9 year old, I can understand your concerns. However, my daughter is pretty healthy weight wise. She does have one slight advantage that she is tall for her age. We joke that in another year or two she will pass me up (I'm 5'1"). In our house, the rule is no desserts or sweets two nights in a row (unless it's…

^^ THIS. But I think it's true with ANY exercise program. What's that saying "Even slow progress is STILL progress". Well said chocl8_757girl!!

UPDATE!! My gut feeling appears to have been correct. Eating too few calories. Starting Monday, I committed to doing TDEE - 20% which put me eating around 1900-2000 calories per day (given my current activity levels). Just about each day since Monday, I have eaten at an average of 1950 per day. This morning I weighed in…

So I am on week 2 this week. I initially started this last fall (November to be exact). I couldn't make it through the second 60 second run. I was exhausted and my legs ached for days after!!!!!!!! I took a break from MFP and exercise and got back into this year. I restarted C25K and completed that first week with no…

Yup, lost some of my girls too; it's always the first place that I lose weight in. I've had large girls for a while so it's a welcome change. But the real reason I am commenting is just to say how impressed I am with you ladies!!! There have been great success stories here!!! Very inspiring.... Great job!!!!!!

That's actually what I am hoping for....

Wow. Thanks everyone for the responses. I appreciate the time to help me out. I am changing my tactic to eat ALL my calories this week to see how it goes. I will try and eat as close to my TDEE - 20% to see if that helps. I typically weigh and measure everything with the exception of course when we eat out (which is not…

Outstanding idea!!!

Same here. The hubs and I grew up eating everything on our plates, especially if we took seconds. When we had kids, the hubs and I agreed to never force our kids to finish the meals on their plates. It's adding calories they don't really need. I have two healthy (and fit) daughters. We encourage our girls to wait a few…

When you go to your favorite restaurant and it STILL takes you 20 mins to order because you are checking food calories or how many calories you have left on your phone... Drives my husband nuts....

You may want to really consider the Kindle. One daughter has a Nook and one a Kindle (the relatives spoil them). Kindle is a nicer product and the Amazon store is much better than B & N's. If I could have asked them to buy them one or the other I would have asked for both of them to have a Kindle. Barnes and Noble has a…
