Mark, thanks! And I don't think your comments were "not so nice" it's just straightforward and I like it. Call it like it is ;)

Kim, ugh! I feel bad for you. Mark and Kelly, shooting and good food sounds like a great weekend. And 70k rounds?! Daaaamn. Jen, I guess we both need a swift kick in the a** ;) lol look, I'm not gonna gonna sugar coat my behavior right now. I got lazy, unmotivated, why? I don't really know and it doesn't matter. Its not so…

John sounds like an awesome session!! I'm about to do my PT and some kettlebells. I've had lots of good night's sleep this week and lots of quality time with Arturo, although I wasn't as productive as I've hoped to be I think the sleep and quality time is worth it. Sometimes our lives gets a little busy and we might forget…

John, yay for your garden! Yes spring is here, my poppies are blooming. Poppies just seems like they are "happy" Still trudging along with my diet, did not do well yesterday yikes! But I had fun and I don't feel bad about it, I know I shouldn't but I'm not beating myself about it as well.

Kim, funny when I heard Christin's interview I was thinking "hey that's me!" Lol btw great birthday present! And hormones are such a tricky thing to "fix" yay for not feeling cold especially where you live. ;) I am looking forward to the coaching! Had some egg whites today because I need to finish them and I got a little…

Not doing good food wise, I know I have to sacrifice to reach a goal but recently I've just been ehh about it. Well I'm back on it and hope that I would get my head back in the game. I have contacted Body IO for Coaching and I've requested Christin, I've heard AJ and Alex on their podcast and although I think they are…

Thank you everybody for your encouragements. :) I think I've said it before, its not that I'm not happy and confident with the way I look its that I want "more" LOL don't we all?.. I also know that I have body image issues that seeps out sometimes. I go through ups and downs and I'm just experiencing more downs than ups…

I am hesitant even posting this, because I don't want no trouble :p But to OP I think you misunderstood the quote that quote's meaning is supposed to be a positive quote about self validation. To not need any external validation because what you seek is in yourself.) A lot of chinese quotes are "lost in translation")…

Noting to do with food but I think I've finally found my EDC bag. Arturo bought me one that is functional (and tactical looking)but it doesn't go with most of my clothes. And I've tried to work with that bag (6 months) but it just doesn't suit my needs and aesthetic. I've been experimenting with messenger bags and big…

Jen, I hear you on the sleep thing. On that note, hemp oil totally works! I forgot to take it last night and I did not sleep well. I woke up feeling like I haven't slept much. Carol you are amazing! Pursuing a doctorate is hard very very very hard. But it sounds like you have the right mindset and support system to do it.…

Busy gardening. I'm still trying to figure a good routine for the dogs and I. Kira, my older dog doesn't like waking up before 8am for a walk. She is 14 so I don't blame her plus she was used to the winter times. But it's funny when I had to drag her by her collar in the morning to get off her comfy bed and trying to be…

Jen, CSA is not for our lifestyle since you have to commit to picking it up every week. I am eating snow peas shoots today. Yum! It's like eating mild snow peas but in leaf form. And it's easy to grow, you just needs a pot. Let it grow to about 10 inches and cut back and it'll grow back.

Jen, Hearts of palm. Yum! If you like that you should try "wild hearts of palm" aka cattails. Why will this year be different? Are you guys getting new vendors? By the way, it never hurts to ask the vendors if they will consider growing something. I asked and it just so happened that last year some other people asked as…

I'm tired, I was the doing all the grilling yesterday in the sun. Which I didn't expect to have to do. Arturo has to stay with the foster so I stood all day grilling. Call me old fashion but no man offered to help?!!! Ok one did, kinda more like watch the ribs while I man the other grill. Then he didn't realize that the…

Kim, your carb Nite sounds delish! Btw there was a phd student project where they went out and tested cereals. Well turns out that the "GMO free" still contain the GM gene and General Mills cereal (they tested 3 different ones) don't. lol remember General Mills made a pledge a few years Ago to be GMO free by a certain…

Carol, yep use stair as much as possible! Ok this is bad planning and unexpected. I have the peace today and that means we'll be gone most of the day and tomorrow I'm co hosting a co Ed BBQ baby shower and I'm in charge of meat for 40 ppl. When I agree to do this, I was told it was for "at the most 15 people" now it's…

Weekend is coming up and that means farmers' market! Hmmm actually from you guys are describing I think it might still be too cold for it? Anyways, have you ever been to a farmers' market and looked at a veggie and wonder what is it? Next time, pick that mystery veggie and ask the vendor how do you cook it abd what does it…

Kim, it sounds like you have a great doctor. Mark and Kelly, have fun! John, good for you for trying to get help for your chaplain even though it seems like he is pretty set in his ways. I'm still here, trying to be good, haven't walked much this week. I'm going to try not weighing myself for 2 week and just see what…

You treat a rutabaga just like you would any root vegetables, sautéed, fried or mash. It's a personal preference thing. I had cabbage and radish

Thanks everybody for your encouragement and advice. John, I can related to the coach analogy. I was that kid that never thought that I was learning fast enough and good enough and I'd work really hard then burn out, even though my coaches was telling me that I was making progress. I had to compare to someone better and…

Lol you are too cute principal Salva ;) Btw if you like potato you will like rutabaga! its lower carb, I cup has about 9 net gram. It's also purty when you mash them, has a pretty yellow orange color so you know it's good for you ;) I'm gonna try slicing them and frying them like fries next week.

Lol rutabaga is far from fancy veggie. It was traditionally planted for livestocks to root it and eat. It has a pretty yellow flesh. I guess at some point someone said "hey this is good why are we feeding it to the livestocks?" :p
