If I eat or drink anything I log it. But only water is water!

Wish my husband didn't notice clutter!

Does anyone have a Runalyzer key? It looks like it will work to sync with my Oregon scientific HRM so I can just use the iPhone instead of the watch - does it work well for you? Would you recommend it? Do you like the compatible apps? Thanks :flowerforyou:

Thanks - I'll try that next time!

I've never come across it, but what I do is add water to about 50ml of fruit juice, which flavours the water more healthily for very few calories a time.

Welcome to mfp :) BMR is your Basal Metabolic Rate, which is the amount you need to eat every day just to stay alive, even if you were in a coma. It doesn't take account of any activity or exercise at all. I think the above poster was confusing this with TDEE , which is the estimated amount you need to eat every day to…

Yep! I often put a whole day's worth of food in the diary in the morning to let me know if I have room for any snacks etc in the calorie allowance for the day. Then I just adjust it as I go along if the portions or foods end up being slightly different than planned.

Sugar and salt are considered addictive, aren't they?

I have the opposite problem, in that my heart rate monitor gives me about half or a third of the amount of calories burned compared with Endomondo. I'm really sorry I don't have an answer for you, but a question - how to you input your max and average heart rates into Endomondo? From why I have heard/read, generally the…

I wonder if you were running more slowly than you would outside? I don't know what speed I jog at, but it's difficult to maintain a consistent speed outside. Main plus for me of running outside - it's lovely to see the natural world around me as I run, and it's totally free from the moment I leave my house all the way…

Absolutely - to the above comment, and.... I would call my evening meal 'tea' unless I was eating out at a restaurant, and even then I would sometimes call it tea! Makes no difference what the food or beverages are, the time of day, or how heavy the meal is!

Ok, I am loving this thread :) Speed bumps in the UK are also known as 'sleeping policemen' One time, when I was in NYC, I ordered a cup of hot tea at McDonalds (I know, just asking for trouble!). When I asked for milk for my tea the lady behind the counter was hugely confused at the strange request in the weird accent and…

Surely a cup is a measure of volume rather than weight, so a cup of marshmallows would weigh less than a cup of nuts, for example :)

I first tried Nutella as a young child when it used to be sold in a tiny tablespoon-sized tub from a sweet shop. Even then I knew it wasn't healthy! Nothing to do with my adult knowledge of calories or experience of being overweight. It has chocolate in it. It is very sweet. Of course it's not a health food! I've not seen…
"I'm in England and have Oat so Simple nearly every day. I get mine from Asda where its on offer quite alot. I'm having chocolate brownie flavour today "
We only have Morrisons, Iceland and a smallish Co-Op. Nearest Asda is two hours drive away, lol - I'll have a look when I go on holiday in the…

I'm quite jealous of the many varieties of oats (and other foods) you have available in the US, that I can't find in my little Welsh town! The lady in the health food shop had never heard of steel cut oats and the instant ones don't have any of the delicious flavours mentioned by previous posters! I can't quite bring…

Whoops!! That why I get for trying to be clever!

That's because it is lighter, lol 14 stone is 140lb :)

I was perfectly fine until I started having children. Then, instead of losing the pregnancy weight, I put more on! About 8 years ago I lost a lot of it but didn't keep it off, so here I am, on mfp :)

Great idea - I did exactly the same with my parents and I'll do the same with my children. I have kept them in booster seats until they were legally able to be out of them (12 years old OR 135cm/4'5" in the UK), and the buses my children take in school trips all have seat belts in too. My children's safety is paramount :)…

I married a guy who was going bald in his mid twenties 17 years ago. He's the right man for me and the hair didn't matter :)

Before reading this I wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic! I'll have to try it for myself - all the ideas sound fantastic :)

Hi, I'm from Bucks originally, but now living in Wales. Welcome to mfp, it really is an excellent way of helping you to 'stick to it' :). I've lost over 2 stone since January, and have been encouraged to exercise more as well, which can't be bad! Don't think of this as another attempt to lose weight, but as a fresh start…

I've subscribed - thanks, the food looks lovely :)

I live in Wales and have travelled extensively through England, Wales and Scotland France (Paris, Boulogne) USA (New York, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Ohio, Massachusetts) Canada (Montreal, Niagara) Not too impressive, I guess!

Try adding sultanas before you cook it, as they wil plump up in the microwavanita improve the taste of the porridge. it might also depend on the wattage of your microwave. Mine is really old so the porridge takes 2 1/2 minutes to cook.
-
I love this - it's absolutely true and I agree completely :)
-
You are not fat! Enjoy your life, start exercising, it's actually not as bad as you think it is. Everything's going to be ok, don't worry so much about the future, you will make friends and be happy with yourself - you are worth loving xxxx
