  • Thanks luvbnamom for the link!! I want to play!! 1. Current weight -194.6 (i weigh on Sundays, so I'll just post that weight) 2. Goal weight for Thanksgiving-185 (that is what my drivers license says!!! Milestone for me!) 3. Something you're struggling with- Waking up in time for my Body Pump class Tuesday and Thursday…
  • Stationary bike, swimming, pushups, sit-ups... I would really recommend the bike, you can pedal without putting full pressure on your foot, and in a boot it will definitely be something you are able to do. Most of all, don't push it, your foot will heal if you give it time, but will haunt you if you don't.
  • Hi!! I'm a friend of Pink's and I always see her posts on the H2O stuff, and never clicked on it until now! Maybe next challenge I can play too? I haven't set any short term goals, and I'm getting kinda stagnant now, so I feel like I need something to help me get through the holidays intact!!
  • I had a 1400 calorie jack in the box meal at 10pm friday night...808 of that being a SHAKE!!! All you can do, is say "oh well, I f'ed up." and start again the next day. Most of us are here because we would be doing well, have a night like you (or I) did, and then fall completely off the wagon and binge for 2 week straight.…
  • I generally don't eat them. That being said, if I know I'm having a big dinner, or a special occasion, and I end up eating them, I don't feel bad. I try not to use them, but if circumstances are so that I do eat them, I don't lose sleep over it.
  • I agree. Salt can be controlled if you have enough water intake. Sugar (refined)...is sugar. It is calories, which means, at the end of the day, it is fat. That being said, if it is between being over 10g of sugar, or 2000g of sodium...i think the answer there is obvious. Moderation is the key. If one day you're over on…
  • Worth it. They're much less expensive than a weight set, and you can do just about everything you can with free weights, and more if you're creative enough! One "downside" to them is that the resistance level increases the further through the range of motion you get. Like, it is harder at the end of the motion than at the…
  • I was able to buy a pair of MBTs at my professional national conference this past June for 50% off. I had tried them on a few years prior and fell in love. I get heel pain often, and when I put these shoes on, that just goes away. That being said, I got them for the comfort factor, not the fitness factor. Sure, I feel it…
  • If you don't have a gluten allergy, or one of the previously mentioned issues, I wouldn't recommend it. I WOULD recommend cutting out processed grains (white breads, white pasta, etc etc) just because they aren't as healthy. If you cut gluten out of your diet, from people I've spoken to, your body forgets what to do with…
  • PLEASE seek physical therapy. You need t strengthen. Massage feels great, but it is just a short term fix. You need to strengthen those muscles, and a physical therapist can teach you how. Also make sure you're stretching, a lot. http://www.exrx.net/Stretches/GluteusMaximus/Lying.html try that one. And be careful taking…
  • Unfortunately, life gets in the way of our best intentions sometimes. Do what you can, don't beat yourself up over it. Any exercise is better than no exercise, and any exercise along with a good eating plan is obviously better than neither. You may not lose as rapidly, but you will continue to lose. Your activity with the…
  • Ugh, I work in a physical therapy clinic, and every wall is all mirror! It sucks!! Though I do notice the loss now, and it helps my posture, lol!!
  • I weigh every week, regardless. I just know when it is that TOM, I may weigh more, but if that is the case, I don't let it get me down. Some women on her weigh, some skip. My whole motto with this is to be completely honest, even when I know I'm not going to like the answers, so I log on cheat days, and weigh when it may…
  • Bagel Thins and Philly whipped Cream Cheese...mmmm.... Skinny Cow Fudge Bars
  • Just so you're not dissapointed, you are probably going to move up a few pounds since you're already at your goal weight once you start lifting. Make sure you take photos, and measure, so when the scale isn't showing the numbers you want, you have other means to know you're on the right track. What everyone else has posted…
  • I'm with you. I want to be able to wear lingerie for my hubby without feeling self conscious. Lets ring in the new year!!
  • It looks like they used a method called "bioelectric impedence" to measure your body fat, which is the easieast and cheapest method, with no operator error. "Simply explained, BIA measures the impedance or resistance to the signal as it travels through the water that is found in muscle and fat. The more muscle a person…
  • I have no experience with depression, and every situation is certainly different. But I wonder if you "allow" yourself one bad thing when you're having a bad day, and don't feel guilty about it, if it will help curb your eating for the rest of that day? I know that prior to tracking my eating, I would go on a binge, and…
  • And back injuries are the worst, they never really "go away", they just calm down, and when you least expect it, flare up again. My husband is dealing with a disc injury right now, and it is no fun. It is much different being at home with an injured person than seeing them at the clinic and sending them on their way!!
  • Pushups, bridging, planks are the best to strengthen your core. I would stay away from running, that just puts a pounding on your back. Swimming, cycling, elliptical would be great for you. You can also lift, but stay away from back exercises, so you can do arms (biceps, triceps), shoulders, lat pull downs, flys, lunges,…
  • Well, looking at your diary, you aren't tracking everything you're eating. In order to see why you may be at a plateau, you need to track everything! So this week, get back on that, and I bet just by doing that you'll see a loss.
  • Clean up...ugh....
  • Veggies. Try dipping broccoli, celery, carrots, etc in salsa...or peppers.
  • Chocolate Cupcake. Birthday at work, we always have some sort of sweet (which is why I am where I am, lol!). It tasted fabulous, and then 20 minutes later, sugar COMA. Not worth it!!
  • Yup, it just happens. :) If it starts to hurt, or feel unstable or anything like that, go to the doc, but for right now, I would say you're probably ok. :)
  • Does it hurt when they pop? Lots of our joints talk to us, it doesn't mean anything bad, unless it is painful. Then I would talk to your doctor, might be some degenerative changes going on...glucosamine and chondroitin could help with that...
  • Sent you a message, you're gonna have so much fun!!
  • This is exactly right. Like anything else, too much of a good thing...and unfortunately, anything pre packages has too much. Which is why eating fresh fruits and veggies, and preparing your meals as much from scratch as you can is so important. Also, if you're drinking TONS of water, it will help off set the sodium intake…
  • Totally normal, especially for males. Your diet has (I'm assuming) changed drastically in the last week, your body is shedding tons of water weight from a drop in sodium intake (again, assuming). It will slow this week or next. That being said, males drop it much quicker than females. My husband and I have been tracking…
  • If your goal is to gain weight, yes. If not all of them, then part at least.
