Here are a few reasons: I like exercising outdoors, but time is often a big factor. I can ride my stationary bike while working or catching up with friends on my computer. During lunch time, I like to walk. If it's over about 75-80 degrees I sweat too much to feel professional for the rest of the afternoon at work, so I…

^^^ What Wendyapple is really good advice. I'm debating when and how to come out to my dad about being trans. I'm 38 with a wife and kids and facing a difficult divorce within the next 12-18 months. I've come out to many people, even a couple this week, but I'm just not sure how to approach this with my dad. I hope your…

You'd have to check using weight standards to know which is correct. A while back I took a tour of the place where the official time is kept using about a dozen atomic clocks. They can tell if any one is slightly off. The tour guide said something that applies to your question: If you have one clock you know what time it…

There was (is?) a place in Milwaukee where you grill the meat yourself. You paid one price and got your pick of 1 lb. hunks of meat (and unlimited Texas toast, baked potato, salad bar, dessert). For a higher price you got a 2 lb hunk, essentially a roast. If you finished off the 2 lb they hung your picture wearing a chef…

Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, though I never passed either on a highway, on the sidewalk, or in a hallway (as far as I know).

A family friend did that. She was obsessed with staying very thin and liked to drink a lot so she ate very little. It eventually killed her.

It is tough to find time for yourself with kids isn't it? Mine are going from about 6 am - 8 pm, and it's often a marathon that doesn't end until 9 pm for me. I only have 2, but that's plenty! I do pretty well making healthy food choices. I load up the fridge with fruits and veggies and make it point to eat as much of them…

I applaud you for keeping it real! It can be a little disappointing sometimes, but the only way to figure out your body is to be honest with yourself. I weigh and record everyday. That allows me to not focus on any single up day. When you look at my graph you can see the daily ups and downs. As long as the line is…

I almost always do. I was a bit frazzled last night when the birthday girl changed her restaurant pick on the way there but I think I did alright making healthy choices.

I suspect it wouldn't work. I think the glazing effect comes from the breakdown (carmelizing) of the sugar in the presence of the ham juices. Who knows what the artificial sweetener would break down into or if it would at all? You could always try it on a small piece first as someone else suggested.

You look fantastic! Congrats! Your son is adoarable. They grow up so fast!

That is good advice. Be yourself, but a little extra effort can help. I do something pretty similar to this with my in-laws for entirely different reasons. I'm very outgoing in trying to be helpful in the kitchen, both cooking and cleaning up. That's definitely how I'm known. I also try to be extra friendly with each…

You really look great! Good luck maintaining!

It depends on whether you can see past the daily fluctuations, which are called noise. I look at graphs of data every day and I'm used to sorting out the real info from the noise, so it tends to not stress me out. (Alright, I'll admit to feeling a tinge of regret if I gain a bit and I'm already having a bad day.) One thing…

Take it as a compliment and move on. He sees you working out everyday so he knows it's probably something you've been working on. (As a former teacher, it's one of those finer points you have to learn, who likes their praise in public and who prefers it to be more private.)

lol! It's all about muscles Wendy. They're just checking out your hot biceps!

I don't do a lot of analysis about eating around my morning workouts. The only time I have to exercise is before the kids get up, so 4:45-5:45 (starting whenever I can drag myself out of bed). Any time lost off the beginning is time I don't exercise so I eat nothing before. Then it's off to the shower while my wife gets…

I've been trying to convince myself that I hate PB, but I just can't do it. It's my biggest weakness.

I'm shooting for 140 and making steady progress. Not sure if it's possible with my frame. I may adjust to 150.

Nice thread. Is this to help you break into our online accounts? Want my mother's maiden name too? Name of my first pet? SSN?

And here in Minnesota we spend half our lives under layers. Only a few more months and you'll see half-naked Minnesotans again, just don't get used to it. It won't last long.

I don't trust what MFP gives me, but I don't have an HRM, so I don't know the real number (or something closer to real). I just let MFP do what it will and mentally adjust if it doesn't seem right to me. If I'm losing then I must be doing something right regardless of the numbers in my diary. Why do you care what your…

Mine too! That is really inspiring. You certainly did some things right, now and when he was growing up.

Clinique Happy to Be - unfortunately they don't make it any more. You can find it on E-Bay, but I'm a little leary of it being fake.

It's the middle of the healthy BMI range for my height. I'm not sure if it's attainable. I lost a lot ~8 yrs ago and felt great. My lowest weight then was 20 lbs more than my current goal. That was at the top of the healthy BMI range for me then. I've since shrunk by an inch :grumble: , so at the very least I need to lose…
