A question for everyone: What time of day are you doing your workout? Do you find it easier to get through in the mornings or evenings? I've been contemplating bringing the video with me to school - I teach - and doing it in my classroom during my lunch break when I have no kids....Don't know how well that'd go over with…

Blood pressure....didn't think about that. I think I'll make an appointment with the doctor. Thanks.

Last week: 237.9 This week: 235.8 Made some cabbage soup, and didn't really stick to that very restrictive diet plan, although having a bowl of it at lunch is helping with keeping calories in check, and getting in more servings of vegetables. And the weight is following nicely. Mini goal for this week - to get down to…

signed in on the old weigh in message. Much prefer the weekly board. Here's the latest. SW: 244.4 CW: 237.9 GW: 220 - not sure if that's going to happen in 8 weeks, but we'll see how close I can get to it. If I hit 225, then I'll be the weight I was when I got married ten years ago. (BTW, our ten year anniversary was a few…

Been a little while since I checked in. Got an elliptical machine I found on craigslist, so I've been having fun working out on that and saving my knees from the impact. Week 3: 242.9 Week 4: 242.9 - argh. Week 5: 237.9 ....Don't get too excited. I had a stomach virus over easter weekend. But I am managing to maintain it.…

Me too. I used the exact same amount. Now it's a half tsp of truvia and fat free half and half. Yesterday, I didn't even drink any! Also, I never thought I would be consistent with tracking calories but it's been 95 days! (Only one I missed was on a camping retreat where we didn't have cell phone service. I guessed my…

I need a twin 35y old 5' 7" SW: 261 CW: 243 GW: 161 Mini-Goals: Run a 5K, Run a 10K, Get back into the dress I wore leaving our wedding reception 10y ago (220 at the time), Get back into Onederland (last time was in 2001, after a bad stomach bug following six weeks of mission work in South America), Reach "Healthy" BMI…

If you're not measuring your inches, do that. I actually gained two pounds this week, according to the scale. But I took my measurements after ten faithful days of staying within calorie range and walking/running. Down 5" between my waist, bust, and hips. The scale is NOT your friend. you Seriously Can't Accept or Live by…

If you don't already measure yourself, you need to. The scale does not show all your progress. I exercised more this week and ate less, and gained 2lb, but I lost two inches in my waist and one in my hips. I plateaued early, which was discouraging. THen I had a weekend vacation where I went off the diet. I initially gained…

Down 18.5 pounds, and 1 pant size. I plateaued early on and lost a little momentum in February. I took a weekend off and lo-and-behold, the weight started coming off again when I kicked it back up the next Monday. March has seen the best results so far, although this week I'm retaining a little bit of muscle-repair water…

Week 1: 244.4 Week 2: 243.1 Towards the goal of being able to run a 5K...I ran for 25 minutes last night, with two 1min walking breaks toward the end. At 12min mile, that should mean I ran 2 miles. Feeling good today, No soreness.

Eat less....move more. I try to keep from sitting down during the day. Now that it has warmed up, I will be walking during my lunch break. I will try for at least thirty minutes four times a week.

Of course, talk to your doctor first. But I managed...being 100lbs overweight on top of lifelong asthma. It's definitely an endurance thing. Start slowly. My tricks: use the fast acting inhaler (two puffs) before running. Walk for at least 5 minutes at a fast clip to warm everything up. And breathe rhythmically, using your…

Yeah...I'm more self conscious about "bounce" than I am about being overweight. All my friends who run are itty bitty. But I have two big time runner friends who are not, and they inspire me.

I've just lost 17 lbs, which is equivalent to a larger (but not the largest) sack of dog food. When I go to the grocery store this weekend, one of my goals is to take a picture of myself holding the bag, then walk around with it for a while remembering the feeling of carrying that extra weight. Sometimes 17 doesn't seem…

Okay. I'm in. Add me. I need some workout accountability. This is one thing I can get away with while the kids are awake. My two year old daughters think they're watching cartoons and mommy's being silly. Win-Win.

I reset my food tracker to reveal sugar, and I am over SO MUCH everyday, even when I've tried to cut it out. I still have one teaspoon in my coffee, just to cut the artificial taste of the splenda. But the rest is coming from an apple and a homemade weight watcher recipe banana nut muffin (3 pt. Awesome recipe) that has…

Only been on here about 8 weeks. Add me. I'm 35, mom to twin two-year olds - one with special needs. My husband is a youth minister and I'm a school music teacher.

I have spent this week on different clothing websites looking for an "inspiration" outfit to save on my phone or put on my fridge as a little reminder. My sister did this with a bikini that she wanted to order for her cruise last year. But nothing motivated me quite as much as seeing your picture and reading your story.…

Oh, I hope a LOT of people respond to this, because I AM a sugar fiend. I have NOT kicked the habit. And I need to so desperately!! I will def. try the lemon in tea thing, because I am a south Mississippi girl and I have got to have sweet tea and coffee. If I could switch to lemon unsweet tea, I would do it in a heartbeat!…

"No temptation has overtaken you except that which is common to man. And God is faithful to provide a way of escape." 1 Corinthians 10... That temptation to cave is common to every person on this site. Some are just taking their way of escape through consistency in diet and exercise. You have not failed. I know this…

Well, I tried it. And it was too easy to keep shifting up rather than down. So I'm going to stick to my original plan. I gained a pound over the past ten days. I think that's the danger in this method. I was over for the week because I kept thinking - "I'll shift down tomorrow." Tomorrow never came.

Me Too....almost exactly in the same boat as you. Last night, I went through my calorie history and in the beginning, I was eating back my exercise calories. I tried to have my net calorie count for the day match the goal. It was working so well that I QUIT and just tried to keep my food calories at or under the goal plus…

We're at the same starting weight. How tall are you? I haven't been under 200 since 2001. I'm like some other poster - I'm more motivated now. Thanks!
-
I haven't done it. I'm intrigued enough, and stuck in one spot for the last two weeks...so I think I will try it this week and see what happens. If I don't lose, I'm not any worse off than I was the last two weeks. If I can remember... : ) I will try to come back and post some results.

Okay...I had a breakthrough. I ran a mile yesterday. The time before that I could only run 5 minutes at a time before I had to stop for a break. It was much easier after fixing how my foot struck the road. I didn't realize how much I was rolling from heel to toe as I ran. I was informed by someone who runs all the time…

Feb 1: 250.9 Feb 8: 248.7 Started running again last week. Scale's not moving that fast, but at this rate, I'll still be under 200 by our summer vacation. One-derland, here I come!

I feel ya. I'm not one either. And I have always struggled with asthma, so it wasn't something anybody pushed me to do. I always had to take it easy as a kid. Fast forward ___ years, and asthma control medication is so much better than it was then. I use my inhaler twice before going out. And then I use the "rhythm" method…
