I am "prediabetic", so taking insulin is off the table. But from where I sit, if I can beat my BS down to normal, the health insurance gods will think I don't have a problem. Which means health insurance should be cheaper. Currently, I am trying to move from a group plan to an individual one, saving me some $400 per month.

Breastfeeding totally makes a difference, but keep it going until they age off, since it's good for weight loss too.

I would go get a massage if I could fit it into my schedule, LOL. I snatch minutes and buy new clothes as the old ones fall off me. Goodwill is helping where it can. Snagged a wool suit (no alterations!), leather jacket (was looking for years!) and some capris this week.

A trip to France. My daughter's student-exchange program fell through, so I went with her myself. Such a sacrifice!

I used to live on high carb, but good quality foods. Didn't understand that it was still high carb and therefore affecting my blood sugar levels. MFP helped me understand that a cup of rice, a cup of beans, or 2 pcs of whole wheat bread are Expensive on many levels. So portions are down to 1/2 a cup of carbolicious stuff…

I totally hate "old" people at my gym. They get a free "Silver Sneakers" pass, and come in to socialize with each other. Hog the machines while talking or resting. Won't let me work in. Hope I never get "that old".

Sometimes cooking ends in disaster! Hope you had a good laugh and had something else that night.

That is fantastic! Very happy for you!

Dear Jay, I usually don't mind too much when tenants leave a mess behind. But you're different. You insisted that I treat you with dignity. You complained about the inconvenience when I replaced an oven. Then you left all your **** behind. I had to wash your child's snot off the walls, her "artwork" had to be painted over,…

I bought some frozen cod from Costco. It reminds me of tough tofu. I was thinking the best application would be in a fish stew with tomatoes and plenty of other veggies. Is it me or the cod?

That's what I'm thinking. It's finally time to become athletic, if not an athlete.

Isn't he cute? And no pix either! We are our own worst critics. How about not looking naked in the mirror for a while? Personally, I'm enjoying the image I get with clothes on, must have lost 5" already. :)

The word "goal" does not imply that it's mandatory. I hope the money is going to a good cause. I haven't used their services, but think I ought to investigate, since I'm prediabetic. I just was thinking that it fit, made sense, to attend a diabetes awareness event b/c of my status and b/c the very nature of the event helps…
