I have a request but with a parameter. Layne Staley. But from 1991. He deteriorated slowly from the early/mid 90's to 2002.

Bruce Lee.

Wait - Cory Haim died? I didn't see Paul Walker so that is my request.

I agree with this - great post. And - low calorie diet probably had more nutritional value than the original higher calorie diet. There seems to be a lot of black and white thought processes here on calories. I think there is a lot of grey area there. How much body fat the person is carrying, how much/what exercise the…

@brdnw First off - congratulations on your incredible success. It's easily one of the best transformations I have seen on here. I read in a different post about your diet. Do you prepare meals a few days in advanced or do you make them daily? Do or did you ever have a weekly cheat meal? Also do you feel you need to up your…

Amazing transformation. Looks like you have the more endomorph body type. The carbs reduction was probably the main diet key for you.

Strange. I wore it at the same time with the Polar tracking on my watch and the scoshe on my ipad and they were pretty much identical results. I wear like the below picture.
-
I recommend the scosche rythm+. It fits on your upper forearm, is very comfortable and accurate. It is blue tooth only meaning there is no watch. I have had 4 polar including the Bluetooth and the mio wrist watch. This has bee easily the best option for me. The polar were not as comfortable and more tedious to get on. I…

It's packing a lot of nutrition into a drink if you do not like to eat veggies. I add spinach to my morning protein/frozen berry shake and try to get a green drink at night with another protein like chicken. As far as a meal replacement? Maybe as part of a meal or maybe in the AM with fruits. To me a green drink with say…

I agree with this. Your body will let you know if you are eating too few calories. You will start to feel weak in during exercise. Maybe light headed when standing up and of course hungry. Trust your body on this.

I would add, though, that one of your earlier comments in the thread ("No matter how you've done it you've done it") is downright dangerous. [/quote] Why? His daily calories are between 1200 to 1400. While very low it's not super extreme. It's possible that with changes of macros that he might have gotten more nutrients…

Great points. Safe to assume that the visceral fat is the most important to reduce.

Not exactly a success story....

Awesome work! Thank you for sharing. I agree on the cardio. I have read/listened to more than a few diet guru's who say cardio is not necessary and will hurt your progress and it's better to do HIIT 3 times a week. But I think these guys never had to lose over 30 pounds. I think once you are over a certain threshold -…

I am going to start taking it tonight. I just had my fasted insulin measured and it was very high. My glucose was normal (as always). Go figure. I hope it will help. I am taking it once a day at dinner. We are going to see where my insulin is around December. This is the first time I had my insulin measured. I'm surprised…

I would recommend getting gym quality one off craigslist. Like Lifefitness, precor,or Octane fitness. Normally these run 3k to 5k brand new and can get one for 1k or under off craigslist.

Amazing success! I am interested about splitting cardio to twice a day. I had a friend who did that and he dropped pounds at a very fast rate.
-
Dropping 40 pounds in 3 months is pretty damn good. Congrats on your progress.
-
Eight pounds - mostly water retention from initial weigh in.
-
Absolutely amazing. What makes it more amazing is how you bulked on after cutting. You took on and killed two major hurdles. Congratulations. Thank you for sharing.

I disgree about point 1. If someone loses weight extremely FAST but is healthier in regards to gaining more muscle, more energy, then it is not dangerous. It is more dangerous being extremely obese. Agree 1000000% on #2.

Bruce was an incredible contestant. I loved his spirit. The baseball player - man that was crazy. I think he was looking for things to have handed to him. He obviosly did not want to put in the hard work it takes to dig yourself out of a hole. The show is ok. It only takes about an hour to watch on the DVR. It contains a…

Amazing! Well done!

In regards to the body wrap. Pretty sure her weight was a part of being pregnant and maybe not as long term as other posters. Perhaps - it is not the % of body fat that causes the skin to stretch but the length of time the skin has been stretched.

I think much of it has to do with personality and behavior (for many). There have been stories on people who have the bypass surgery who become alchoholics or become addicted to drugs/medication. They never fixed (or changed) the wiring that got them fat in the first place. Look at that kid who Chris Powel trained. I think…

Nothing wrong with taking a break and actually a good thing from a health standpoint. I understand your concerns about temporary leaving a regiment. It is a very viable concern. Make sure you continue to log your diet. I would take a week off and consider changing walking to maybe an HIIT routine. HIIT only requires 15 to…

If you are looking to lose that much weight in a short amount of time - check out the book by the biggest loser doctor. Below is the link. He had similiar results with at home contestants compared to people on the show. http://www.amazon.com/Where-Did-All-Fat-Weight/dp/1931290571

Old school JRR Tolkien fan. Band wagon GoT fan. (next season should be the best!!) Old school Star Wars > old school Start Trek New school Star Trek > new school Star Wars Harsh feelings towards G Lucas for not only ruining star wars but my beloved Raiders series with Cyrstal Skull. :*-( Recovering chocoholic (day by day).…

Based on your diet the last few days... It does appear you are not getting enough calories. I would first change breakfast. Like maybe replacing the Kashi Bar with a protien smoothie. Like a cup of frozen fruit, protien powder. Or maybe eggs and fruit. Also try to get healthy fats like almonds, fish oil. Fats are really…
