  • Just by using the search function at the top of the board (I'm on desktop, not mobile). I was a little surprised that you can see that the mods have that one moved to the hidden forum--there have times that I have been following threads that seem to be heading towards getting locked and I get the permission problem warning…
  • If it's the second one here--the mods have locked it, but it looks like there is a new thread (the first one):
  • I have a digital scale that weighs in 0.2 pound increments. I am losing but I am within 8 pounds of my goal so it's slow going. I make sure the scale is level on the tile floor before I weigh myself, and I step on 3 separate times for 2/3 consensus to record weight. I use the Happy Scale app and record my weigh only first…
  • I'm 5'7" and this is where I like to be, too--I feel strong enough to workout, light enough to run easily, my clothes fit well, maintaining here isn't too bad, and I don't mind how I look in photographs. I do hear from my mom that I'm "too skinny" though.
  • By BMI standards, yes, but if it's less than she weighs now then it's still a pretty decent goal...
  • Depending on what your goals in the half marathon are--will having only 3 days of running per week be enough? Just something to think about... Hal Higdon does have a training plan that incorporates lifting into a 3 day running schedule, but he does caveat that if you are new to lifting your should probably wait until after…
  • Guinness is my favorite "diet" beer too--it still tastes like you're drinking beer and not beer-flavored water.
  • Most leg cramps are idiopathic, but still worth mentioning to your doctor. As mentioned previously, magnesium supplements may help. Gatorade or Pedialyte may help.
  • So funny that this came up again today... nearly 3.5 years later I am up to 142 lbs after having ACL/meniscus surgery/physical therapy and stress-eating through getting our only child through senior year and off to college. I was actually up higher but empty nesting has allowed for a lot of time to take care of myself…
  • Have you considered that being over-restrictive might be the cause of your binges?

  • When I wore a chest strap hrm I made sure it was super snug and wore it directly underneath my (bombproof) bra strap. Never had issues. I've moved over to a strapless one now--Garmin Fenix 5S and couldn't be happier. The only time I have to wear a strap is if I care about my heart rate when swimming.
  • Depending on how fast you lost your weight it may take your body and mind a little bit of time to catch up with your new normal... Your body--as in skin tightening up--and your mind--in getting accustomed to seeing your new size...
  • Sugar--just less of it (though I do drink Diet Coke on a rare occasion).
  • OP, how old are you? I just checked your post history and 1) you are already underweight and 2) you have a flare for the dramatic in all of your posts. Have you checked in with a doctor on your weight loss goals lately?
  • It's a little early for weight-loss related acne as you have only begun and likely most of the 4 pounds that you have lost is water weight. However, estrogen is stored in fat cells and upon liberation (fat loss) it can cause acne flare-ups. For me this happened at around the 20 lbs lost point.
  • Kind of. My husband and I are empty nesters and are both working on losing some weight right now. During the week is easy because we have a defined schedule (work, gym, dinner at home), but weekends are a little trickier because we run errands, do work around the house, watch some college football... By the time dinner…
  • I usually keep a range of 3 sizes in my closet--my current size, a few things from the next size down, and a few things from the next size up in case I have a lapse. Anything else gets donated.
  • If you are having an adverse event, then you need to report that to either the doctor who prescribed it, or the pharmacist who filled the prescription.

  • I think it helps to be aware of tendencies and your mental status. I have a history of eating disorders dating on/off back to the 80's. I've been here since 2009. I know that I have the ability to get sucked in and obsessive about eating/exercising so I'm pretty careful about paying attention to the signs of falling down…
  • Especially since she eats way more prepared foods/restaurant foods than fresh fruit...
  • You should print out your food diary and take it to your next doctor's appointment with you... I'm thinking you might walk away with a referral to a dietitian...
  • I wish I ever had an extra 400 calories lying around on a Friday night!!!

  • I'm so jealous--my handstand is terrible and it stresses me out. I guess that's why they call it a practice--maybe if I commit to doing it every day? You all might be the kick in the (yoga) pants that I need...
  • Like nearly everyone else, I also find it easier to watch my calories and lose weight by limiting alcohol. The bonus factor is then you become a very cheap date with lower tolerance and you are kind of forced to drink less (or throw up)!

  • Your physical therapist isn't able to give you "safe" exercises? I don't have experience with rotator cuff--I've had knee issues--but my physical therapist has been able to tailor my rehabilitation to my personal needs (I'm a wee bit driven and so my rehab is a little more aggressive than an average patient). I'm lucky in…
  • Spread it on Biscoff cookies--or as I call it, "cookie on cookie crime" :D
  • Are you sure that it's water weight? Does Lean Cuisine really have more sodium than the Subway, Noodles and Co. and McDonald's that you were eating previously???? Edited to add: I just took a peek at your diary--Holy Sodium Batman!--everything you eat has tons of sodium! Were you eating this way before you started…
  • Listen to your doctor or get a second opinion from another qualified medical professional. BTW--protein in urine isn't usually related to dietary intake unless you've done kidney damage with said diet.
  • We have a TRX, a Kickr (bike trainer), some kettlebells, a Bosu and some other plyo accessories... We still belong to a gym but the majority of our workouts are done outside (cycling/running/skiing/snowshoeing).
