When people use the word 'ignorant' incorrectly. It does NOT mean 'rude', it means 'lacking knowledge'. GAH, so annoying.

Here here! It's amazing stuff :)

Meh, they're just ads. Advertising is meant to be memorable/shocking so you'll buy into whatever they're selling. They've obviously done a good job because we're on page 7 of this thread...

Haha, ya. Makes me laugh thinking about it.

I've only done it twice, both times it was airbrushed on. It looked great - I'm really pale so I didn't go too bronzed, just enough to get a good glow. Only downside is that it smells & you're not supposed to shower for 12 hours after. I'm not too sure about the automated machines that do it but if it's anything like that…

I mash up 1/2 an avocado, a tablespoon (or so) of lemon juice & salt/pepper. Toss and enjoy!

I'm midway through week 3. I didn't change my activity level, only my calories & ratios (protein/fat/carbs). From what I've read on other message boards, the calorie goal you set at the beginning of the routine (using the guidelines provided in the program) includes calories burned during the workouts. It's been suggested…

I've have great success with resistance bands. I liked them because you could easily adjust the difficulty level without having to switch equipment (way cheaper too). Good luck with whatever you choose!

You can purchase all purpose gluten-free flour from your specialty foods store or natural foods aisle & substitute it into almost any recipe. I bake from scratch so I'm not sure about the mixes but if you're short on time, I'm sure they'll be fine.

Haha, creepy. But he's right & so are all the other people here - you look great. If I've learned anything it's that you can't rush a healthy weight loss. I lost 20lbs in a month on Dr. Bernstein...and also lost hundreds of dollars for what? To gain it all back plus more. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, set a…

What about vegan protein shakes? I'm currently using Progressive Harmonized Vegan Protein, vanilla flavour. I blend it with strawberries or bananas. It's low fat (2gm per scoop) and if you add a banana in there, you'll get up to over 200 calories in one shake.

I was also excited to try the Tofurky sausages and you're right, they're nasty. However, there are some delicious meat alternatives out there. Tofurky deli slices are tasty but unfortunately, that's the only thing I've found yummy from that brand. If you can get Yves brand, they make some tasty veggie dogs & Italian…

That sounds so good! I'm adding coconut yogurt to my shopping list this week! I had a vanilla protein shake (vegan) with some strawberries blended in, pumpkin seeds on the side - quite boring in comparison to all the breakfasts on here.

TOFU! You can use silken tofu to make delicious smoothies (or add some cocoa to it for a high protein 'pudding') or use firm/extra firm tofu in stirfries, soups, crumble it into spaghetti sauce, etc.. It will soak up whatever flavours you're cooking with.

I had success with both but found I had better results with TurboFire - the strength exercises use bands instead of weights, so I was able to change up the resistance easier and often.
-
I've also completed both - started with TurboJam but found that after 8 months or so, I needed a change of pace, so I moved onto TurboFire. Both are great but I preferred TurboFire because of the variety/intensity.

watfordjc - Nice response! (I didn't want to requite the entire thing but you have some good information in there). I think someone already posted this but check out www.ohsheglows.com. There are some pretty tasty recipes on that site.

Brussel spouts - boiled, roasted, steamed - I don't care how they're prepared, they're just so good.

I bought some pills from one of those 'As Seen on TV' stores - you were supposed to take them after you ate and they claim to congeal the fat from your meal and it would pass through before your body could absorb it. The demonstration was very convincing however, that was the only impressive thing about them. I still can't…

Try swimming or biking, they're easier on the joints. I also have knee issues and wear a tensor brace while working out, it seems to work pretty well.

HAHA, what a hoser, eh?

Back in high school, I opened a Fruit & Nut chocolate bar and found, what I thought was mold, in the corner of the wrapper. After a worm crawled out of a raisin, I took a closer look and it turned out to be a nest with 2 other worms inside. Nasty.

I'm wondering the same thing. I always thought puff pastry was made with lots of butter? Maybe I'm wrong though.

I make a simple stir-fry about 4 times a week (I'm addicted). Marinade/sauce below: Marinade: Soy sauce Sriracha hot sauce Agave nectar Fresh ginger & garlic After marinating pressed/cubed tofu, throw into a wok with veggies and cook until desired consistency is achieved. Then, add some natural peanut butter and top with…

Search "Insanity Diet" on MFP message boards. I believe someone has posted the caloric formula suggested for Insanity users.

Shirataki Noodles are decent if you're looking for a low carb pasta fix. Just make sure you rinse them thoroughly & boil them according to the directions. They smell terrible until rinsed so hold your breath when opening the package.

I'm starting today too! I can't wait - I've been doing TurboFire for almost a year but it's definitely time to change it up. I'm glad to hear you had such great success last time. Did you follow the diet too?

If you can get your hands on fresh fiddleheads, give them a shot. I steam them until they soften up a little then sauté them with a bit of Earth Balance, garlic & pepper. Very tasty.

I'm starting tonight!! I'm very excited - I've been doing TurboFire for close to a year and need a change. Good luck with Insanity!
