I am guessing god wouldn't be happy with factory farming....that is, if he is all loving as people say.

I am weak....lol! I have very limited weights, at the moment, and plan on adding with time. Heck, I had a hard time with completing 3 sets of bicep curls with 10lbs....had to go down to 8lbs.
-
What size weights did you use and how many reps were you able to complete? I did last night as well....don't know how wel I did though! I did enjoy.

I have no upper body strength and am a beginner. 10lbs will be the heaviest I use for upper body.

Potatoes are healthy....when not deep fried or smothered with butter/cheese, etc. I love them and would never consider eliminating them from my diet.

While lifting to maintain during cut, does that help with the weight loss and shaping of your body....inches lost?

One day...when I can afford a gym membership...I will let you know! I would love to get started with lifting heavy.

Thanks! Another question. I know that you can't gain muscle in a deficit, but resistance training while in calorie deficit is needed to maintain what muscle you have....does it help with inches lost or not really because you aren't buiding muscle? I hope I am making sense....it is making sense in my head, not so much as I…

The amount I ate yesterday...staggering! Heck, it is like I ate before. I didn't realize just how much food I was consuming on a daliy basis....YIKES!

I am seeing how it goes at about 15% protein. I struggle to reach that. I am a carb addict and a vegetarian and it can be difficult to reach the protein macro. This is a lifestlye change that you have to be able to maintain a lifetime....i can do that with my carbs. I don't see that happening on the protein front....maybe…

Don't be embarrassed about crying. I know I would have been crying too. He doesn't know all that you have accomplished. You should give yourself more credit! You are doing a great job!

Many thanks, Kiki!

I eat 250-300 grams of carbs a day. I am slowly losing weight. I am not willing to drastically cut my beloved carbs. I would rather stay overweight.

I am not telling anybody what to do NOR did I state that being vegan automatically means a healthier diet. I am talking in general that veg*ns and omnivores can be snobby and defensive. I have seen in real life and on these forums. There are many foods that vegans eat that are fortified with b-12 and as I stated,…

Any diet can be unhealthy Veg*n and meat eaters and both can be snobby and defensive about their preferred diet. Also, you don’t need animal products to reach your iron and b-12 needs. B-12 comes from the soil and veg*n can supplement or just sprinkle delicious nutritional yeast flakes on food. Iron is NOT hard to obtain…

Women and men both do this. It is nothing new nor surprising.

I would be fine with losing inches and not weight!! I am losing a little bit of weight and not too many inches. Great work, everyone!

How do you like Chalean Extreme? It is one of the programs I have been looking into. I am looking to do it at home...with or without videos. Starting with, up to 15lb weights....tis all I have or can afford, atm.
-
Thanks for the responses! I understand "lifting heavy" is relative. I am looking for a starting point that I can accomplish at home. A gym is not a option at the moment for me and just looking for some personal experiences on how folks began strength training and any dvd's they might recommend or any other recommendations.…

Also, what is a good place to start other than NROL? I was looking into Cathe F. I just don't know where to start! I have to buy weights, that is for sure. I just feel overwhelmed trying to sort everything out.

I am in as well. I have been listening to podcasts and making adjustments. It seems to make a lot of sense and I am fine with a slower weight loss. Michelle
