Take a long hot bath

I don't know the science, but I'm interested as I seem to have the same problem. I'm a bit of a serial dieter but every time I step on the scales anew (I avoid weighing myself when I know my clothes are getting tight) I find that I am 74kg, even when I am on the scales a year apart. I just keep going back up yo 74kg or…

One little gem lettuce, handfull cherry tomatoes, 50g chicken breast, one small avocado and a squeeze of lime juice

I enjoy good food and wine, they are important aspects of my life...but they make me fat! So, what has helped me is eating at a sizable deficit 4 or 5 days a week (1,200cals, don't eat back excercise cals) and then eating enjoying a big dinner with wine on the other days- I still eat light at breakfast and lunch those days…

Starting: 27.2 Original Goal: 24 Current BMI=23.4 I thought I would be happy at the upper end of BMI as I always have been and I am happy-ish. But now that I have got into the normal range I can (don't need a BF monitor!) that there is still plenty of giggle, so I am aiming to go to I guess maybe BMI of 21 or 22? I don't…

I agree it is calorie in calorie out but I find lower simple carbs and more protein/moderate fat seems to keep my blood sugar on more of an even keel and stop me feeling light headed and reaching for the white bread. I guess I need a low GI diet. Some friend of mine recommended the Harcomb diet as a miracle weight lose…

2 years ago I went back to work after having a baby, I weighed 66kg (I weighed 98kg before I gave birth, so had loads). Slowly, over a year of sitting on my *kitten* at a desk, my weight crept up to 76kg. Sedentary lifestyle is a killer. I realized this year that if I wanted to loose weight and sit on my bum all day I…

This. I also have a sedentary job. I manage to wlak 45mins a day (as part of my commute) and do an exercise DVD 5 times a week but I do think that sitting all day does make a massive amount of difference to the number of calories you can consume unfortunately. It is also very bad for your health to sit down all day- even…

I find it hard to cut out alcohol too and it is very calorific. I think limiting it to the weekends and special occasions is the best idea. And even when you do that still log the calories- try to do an extra workout to earn an extra glass of wine. I only drink wine, but if you are less fussy, try vodka with diet cola or…

Use a toilet further away from your desk. Drinks lots of water so you need t go there often. Have walking meetings.

I am a foodie. For recipe books I like all of the Hairy Dieters books (UK based books). When I use those I just be sure to weigh everything out and then I trust the calorie count in the book. For other things I wouldn't count herbs, spices garlic which cuts down on the logging time. What I find annoying is other recipes…

I am on 1,200 cals. I only have about 4kg left to lose and eating that gives me less than 0.5kg loss a week. For me the answer is no, I can't "eat whatever I want" on that number of cals. I can only eat 3 healthy meals a day and semi-skimmed milk in my tea. But I also can't live treat free, so every Sunday I go over my…

I would take it to a seamstress now and see if it is possible to take it out. If so, I wouldn't have it done right away but arrange to have it altered in 8 weeks time when you will know if you have managed to lose a few pounds.

I love my own homemade pizza. I do a super thin crust. Tomato sauce, reduced fat mozzarella and parma ham. Around 700cals if I eat the whole thing. I can, of course, leave a couple of slices.

Steak pie is a British food staple! It is basically a rich beef casserole with lots of gravy topped with pastry. I is not literally a grilled sirloin in a pie.

My biggest tip is to eat mindfully. I wouldn't bother logging that day- or just log 2000 cals so you have a record that you probably went over. I would have whatever I wanted to eat, enjoy it and stop eating when I felt full. The last part is the most important part. Do not eat until you feel uncomfortable. Also, with a…

I had chinese last night and just logged 1,000 and didn't worry TOO much. However, I would think chicken and sweetcorn soup and then for a main anything not battered, stir fry sort of thing and give the rice/noodles a miss and you should be ok

Hi, After I had my baby the midwife gave me a set of exercises from the physiotherapist and a tubi-grip girdle thing. I wore that religiously and did the exercises religiously. If your is still a large gap you should think about seeing a physio? (Physical therapist). I think you can get the exercises online too. They were…

Ha ha- yeah those squats are a killer for sitting on the toilet the next day! Thankfully I am past that stage now and can walk and sit normally
-
There are plenty squats, lunges and jumps I have just done my first level 2 workout and found some of the moves near-impossible. Crow push-ups? WTF? Enjoying it in a peverse way though

But think of the CHEESE Charlie. Today for lunch I had smoked mackerel, that is probably banned too!

Some of you people are crazy! I live in Scotland so over the winter it doesn't even get light till about 9am. I tried exercising at 6am a couple of times, it didn't stick. Tues-Fri I get a brisk walk to the train station at 7.40am then exercise DVD at 7pm Saturday- exercise DVD between 9 and 10am Sunday- exercise DVD late…

Why do you want to get your BMI down to borderline underweight? You are already a healthy weight
-
Pinkteapot- it is because it is all super-low fat. Sure you can have as many baked potatoes as you want, but really, what is the point without the butter and cheese?
-
I've been the same today. I've coped with half cups of tea and I have just eaten about half of my exercise calories back when I didn't plan to. But I was hungry and no harm done since I am not over my cals.

I originally put my goal to 2lb a week and got 1,200. I was starving so on recommendation from here I went to 1lb a week and it gave me a whopping 50 cals more : :'( However, after the first couple of weeks I have got used to this amount. I usually have at least 2 social events a week where I end up eating a larger meal,…

My SiL has just lost 5.5stone on SW and looks amazing, but I am baffled by a diet that allows unlimited pasta and rice but my SiL has had to give up bread because she can't fit it into her syns- bread and pasta are practically the same thing! At the end of the day, SW is a very low fat diet and that is how it works. My SiL…

Yes, but only if you watch your calories. You wont end up looking like the ladies on the video though- I think that takes more than 20mins of working out a day!
-
Just done level one day 2 as well! I managed with my 3kg weights for all the exercises except the ones in the last circuit, so that was pretty good.

I've been eating the same salad all week- 4 servings- 2 small chicken breasts, cooked 1 red and one orange pepper, 1 small red onion, 20 cherry tomato all tossed in 1tspn olive olive oil and 1tspn balsamic all roasted 100g (raw weight) giant cous cous, boiled and cooled Throw it all together, add fresh basil. 211calories.…
