I have no idea why you would choose either asparagus OR broccoli. Eat both? Seperatly or together? I love most veg, but especially green veg. We have steam fried curly kale and leeks with garlic with our steak tonight. It was delicious

We had a skinny-version of thai green chicken curry with a little rice. Very healthy and low cal.... ....then we went to an event run by my daughter's school and had WINE and crisps- no idea how many crisps. I'm not "stuffed" so hopefully not too bad!

Butter improves the taste of everything, but somehow I don't notice it missing when I cook at home. I have always cut down on the amount of oil/fat a recipe calls for when cooking- for example often when making a curry the recipe will say to brown the meat in maybe 3tbspns of oil, I've never found that necessary for a nice…

I was just going to ask that TimothyFish- so there is no evidence for this? That's a shame, I was looking forward to waking up 5kg lighter tomorrow

I had a very sore throat and fluey symptoms a couple of weeks ago. I just rested, I couldn't do any exercise. On the plus side my appetite was down and I lost 4lb that week

I'm not sure I want to live forever (especially if I can never have pavlova again) but I might give that a watch tonight- right after masterchef, just so I know what I would be missing.

Well its on tomorrow night, so I'll reserve judgement till then. Is it Horizon? Because they are pretty good.

I don't know why people are complaining about the serving size of cereal. Something like cornflakes only has 108 cals per "serving", so I can easily afford to eat 2 servings for breakfast even when I include the extra milk. I am of the opinion that the serving size is so small because you are meant to eat cereal AND…

I still have the gluttonous amount of peanut butter- I just spread it on one slice of toast rather than attempting to get 20g to stretch to two slices.

Do they hydrate you ? Then yes, they count. If they contain caffeine I would be more on the fence as that is a diuretic

I am a good cook and my husband is an improving cook. Tonight he made sticky chicken and homemade coleslaw, all for under 400 cals and it was delicious. We have been making a lot of dinners out of the "Hairy Dieters" cook books and everything is delicious and each meal is <500 calories. I just have to watch the portion…

I started level 2 today and it was killer! Got through it though. I predict sore arms tomorrow as I was really struggling with some of those arm movements

I count them but I usually guess the amount- ie I don't weigh broccoli, cabbage, lettuce etc. I can afford to do this as I have my daily limit set to 1,200 and can probably get away with 1,400 anyway. As someone else said, eating large amounts of broccoli wasn't what made me fat. I pile my plate high with my non-starchy…

I already had mine at lunch time- roast lamb, veg, roast potatoes followed by a blueberry sponge thing with a little custard. Probably way over my calories, I guesstimated the log- probably WAY under. I went easy on the roast potatoes and only had a small portion of dessert- plus I was under calories yesterday so I wont…

Its perfectly safe to eat less than 1200 calories for a few days- i.e in the 5:2 diet, or if you are fasting before an operation of something. But in normal circumstances it would be miserable to do it for more than a day or two.
-
I'm working my way through the 30 day shred right now. I did it 2 years back and I highly reccommend it. You don't need to be particularly fit to give it ago.

I would do an excercise video once your wee one is in bed. There are loads on YouTube. It will have the dual benefit of stopping you snacking whilst you are doing it and giving you a few extra calories for a snack later on if you need it
-
If I had had dinner and it was a snack then cheese on toast

I am depressed this week too as my weight has stayed the same, after a 1.8kg lose the week before (that's nearly 4 pounds). I have had a good week diet wise so I am disappointing. Only thing I can think of was that I was actually ill the week before so my body may have reacted to that by not losing anything this week. I…

Can I ask a question? Do people weigh EVERYTHING? For example- for lunch I am having an apple- do you weigh that? With or without the core? A pitta bread- it says 151cals on the packet but I can see they are all very slightly different sizes. Would you weight that?
-
That first time you step on is hideous because you are almost guaranteed to weight more than you thought. But you just have to grit your teeth and do it. The next week when you step on it and its a bit less then you will feel better about it. Another tip is to change the setting on the scale from how you normally wight…

I try to make sure I can spare a couple hundred calories in the evening in case I am hungry- which I often am as I sometimes eat dinner as early as 5pm. The snack I most look forward to it toast and peanut butter, just one slice, but is filling and salty. Last night I had toast and reduced fat cheddar. That is the first…

I have just been extolling the virtues of cauliflower rice on another thread and I think I would rather have that. Mind you, I don't like rubbery or slimy textures, so I'm probably put off by that. I think they are worth a try- very expensive though.
-
I second the cauliflower rice. Its surprisingly good and an easy way to cut calories as it contains many less than rice. If you add in some cumin seeds and maybe some garlic and onion it boosts the flavour too.

I have a BMI of 26 and TBH, yes, I am a little overweight, that's why I am on here. However, I know that I will be very slim at a BMI of 22, I've been there before and I looked thin, but not underweight. I dread to think what I would look like with a BMI of 18.5- but then I have never been there.

The metric version is a little glitchy. It says I will lose 158kg in 120 days. Awesome! Except I only weigh 73kg- and losing more than a kg a day will probably kill me
-
For low calorie I would do roasted cauliflower instead of potatoes. It has the same "mouth feel" as potato but more flavour when roasted. Just needs a spray of oil and some seasoning. Spices are nice. For chips I boil wedges for 5mins then roast with just a spray of oil. Very nice. Low calorie if you stick to maybe one…

Meh, mine is pretty much identical either way. I'm still a bit overweight, I need to lose about 5kg

Can you post a link? I am just getting old results with google

Get a baby carrier/sling and put her in that- you will feel the difference then! You may then log "walking carrying infant"
