  • I have had this debate with a few people in the forums before, I took the short answers in the past too ---- and it always has gone badly....... I was hoping to drum up some more discussion on it by dedicating something to it.
  • I agree with your statement patnbabe, however the bodies response to the types of calories we eat is not limited to its insulin response. The digestion of food itself consumes energy based on the length, complexity, and strength of the molecular bonds in the foods we eat and how much effort the body has to extend to break…
  • I have been doing strength training, rather than weight loss..... my goal is loosing fat, but not really carrying what the scale says. I am down to 13% body fat, with a goal of 8% (6 pack). Anyways, got down so that I can wear size 32 pants (high school size) but I have increased my leg strength so much (can leg press…
  • Alchol on low calorie, is hard..... fat in your diet, and on your body both have positive effects on helpnig you handle alcohol. When I went from 28% body fat to 17 -- I went from being able to drink a bottle of jack daniels and be coherent and at work the next day, to feeling just 2 glasses of wine and being done with 3.…

I dropped from around 28% body fat to 17.... on my way to a 6 pack (8-12% body fat) in the next month or two. I'd really advice you to look into…
  • Also doing 1200 calories a day.... been kinda of hard to pull off with high intensity training, but the results have been amazing. Take about 18 vitamins a day to make sure I am not shorting my body of nutrients. Loosing 3-4 ibs a week, lost about 8% body fat in 2 months.. Should be down to around 14% body fat in another…
  • Actually, Chocolate (Cocoa) is very healthy. It is calorie dense, but there are a lot of good reasons to eat it. Milk Chocolate does destroy a lot of that benefit.... so when you indulge, do so in dark chocolate with a high percentage of Cocoa.
  • They are great for convenience, taste, and health. You can put meat and vegetables in them in the morning, and come home at the end of the day and eat when you walk in the door. You can make everything in one pot, and it just tastes great. You can also use them to save money, because you can buy tougher and tastier cuts of…
  • Exactly, calories are not created equally. Your body treats empty calories differently than nutritional calories. Empty calories (particularly those from yeasts or alcohol) will put your bodies use of other calories on hold. Alcohol calories from beer, act in the body on the order of 4 times as many calories as what they…
