Ditto the others - congrats and you look great!!!!

Hi. You will LOVE your HRM! It's the best investment I made, followed by my fitbit one. Do a search in the formus for TDEE - you will find many links on how to calculate. Or do a google search for TDEE and BMR to get the calculators.

So if you use this app for tracking total distance walked a day, wouldn't it wear your phone battery down and you would have to have your phone on you at all times? I purchased a fitbit one in January and love it, and wear my HRM for cardio. I'm curious about the android app...

Good job! keep up the good work :)

I had this happen - even with upping my fiber intake. I take fiber one on occasion, but it never fails the only time "it" wants to happen is when I'm ready to leave for zumba. Seems I need to eat bad greasy food to make anything "happen".

bump... love these

I use an HRM for zumba and it's an intense 33 minute work out. At 166, I'm burning about 218-260 cals in that time. I walk 1.8 miles there and burn anywhere from 146-180 cals in 22-26 minutes. It depends on how much traffic there is on the way and how often I have to wait at intersections. I'm 46.

I've used MapMyRun for over a year now and I just change the activity to running, walking, power walking, hiking, etc. I LOVE the app!! I wear my HRM for cals burned, but use the MMR to get my miles. I love it! I have an Android phone and with the latest updates, the GPS is awesome!

I had one for 10 years and loved it; I did invest in an expensive one (around $1,000 US back in 1999). Two years ago it broke & I bought an elliptical instead - one of my life's biggest regrets. I started running & walking outside a year ago, but found in the winter I couldn't breathe right outside. Sold the elliptical for…

Volbeat and Five Finger Death Punch, Motley Crue from their first CD, Nonpoint, Chevelle, Papa Roach, Queensryche, etc.... lol, I don't think I'm the "typical" music person. Although in the mix I also have old 70's songs and a few Blake Shelton songs thrown in ;)

It is a great feeling, isn't it??!! Motivation to keep going for sure!!

HI! I bought the fitbit one in the beginning of the year and am addicted to it. I use it 24/7 and when I do additional exercise (walking, running, zumba, etc), I also wear my HRM. I login my HRM cals as exercise cals and the mfp automatically adjusts the calories for the day. Here's how bad my addiction is: yesterday…

Don't know what else to say except WOW! Holy WOW!

I started walking, doing DVDs at home, zumba, then walking turned to running. I'm back to walking because of some hip problems that won't go away, but I prefer being outdoors anytime over being in a gym. I did get my own weight bench and weights for Christmas so I can do that at home, though. My love of being outdoors has…

I actually enjoy Miller/MGD 64 and prefer it over everything else, especially when I know how many calories it is. Bud Select 55 was NASTY & I couldn't even drink one can. My problem is it's very hard to find the "64" when you go to a bar. Seems the folks in the Pittsburgh area still think Miller Lite & Coors Light are the…

Saw them at Target last night & at a local chain this morning called Golden Dawn.

I started out with 2, 3 and now 5's.

My typical breakfast is 4 egg whites (from large organic eggs) either plain or on a 100 cal multi-grain or whole wheat wrap with 1/3 slice of 2% american cheese singles (I don't like a lot of cheese). Otherwise, I'll have two mulit-grain waffles with an 1/8 cup of sugar free Mrs. Butterworths syrup. Breakfast is my…

WOW... I take one B supplement very other day. Everyday I take two tables that are combined magnesium, calcium and vitamin D (as a woman in her 40's should). I alternate vitamin c, vitamin e, vitamin a, & fish oil. My doctor approved. I can't take a multi-vitamin; they make me sick & horribly hungry.

IF you drink that much, don't go cold turkey unless you want really severe headaches & feeling lousy all over. I was a big diet coke drinker - I would drink about 4 cans/day. I switched to one fountain drink of coca cola a day before starting MFP, then switched to Coke Zero which I now prefer over everything else except an…

Yep, definitely use a food scale every single day. It's especially useful for when you're baking or cooking. It's a shock when you start weighing your food vs using what the packaging labels say. I have an Eatsmart digital red scale that I love. Got it on Amazon last year.

Great post! I have had the same thing happen and it freaked me out. I live in a smaller town, too, and my favorite time to run would be early in the morning before work - around 4:30 or 5 am. I used to run on all the side streets, but as I got more confident, I wanted to go further so I started running into the next town.…

Congratulations to you; what an accomplishment! I'm with bnorris2013; I'd save the boots, too! Or at least take a picture!

Thanks for posting! Ive shared it on FB, too.

Walking is how I started last year - first at the mall when it was still snowing out, then outside whenever I could get time - I started getting up at 4 am because I became addicted to getting my walk in, then joined zumba and would walk back and forth to class (almost 4 miles right there). Those are the things I did to…

Great read and so happy for you - what a journey! I feel your love of running, but had to break over the winter. You've given me the motivation to get back at it! Keep up the great work and good luck on all your events! KUDOS!!!

I love zumba and there is no back row where I go - the instructor is in the middle and we're all around the outside. I am shy, stay in the back everywhere, won't go to a gym because I don't want to be seen but with zumba - I'm the one who works out hardest besides the instructor, who gets "noticed" and complimented. I…

Ok TMI....I end up with the same problem when I eat healthier. I end up making sure I eat extra fiber & take Fiber One and either get gassy or it doesn't help. Since I haven't been eating so well, I'm back to being "normal" in that way. Ugh. Can't win.... ;)
