  • All of the above! One more....PATIENCE! Stick with it, try different things until you find what works best for you! It won't happen over night, it won't happen by next week....hell maybe not even in the next 6 months, but it will happen if you have patience.
  • My Wii has never been close to my true weight. From day one it has been anywhere from 16 to 40 pounds +/- off of what my bathroom scale reads. I have even gotten different weights 5 minutes apart. The Wii is used in the same spot on hard wood floors every time. It works great for doing the Wii games and such, but not for…
  • In his later years my grandpa wanted to know "...don't those super adhesive strips hurt when you pull them off??..."
  • Ages and ages ago when I had multiple oral surgeries I would have trouble with bread products and hard items, so I found that I could put anything inside an omelet that I would put inside a sandwich. I think my favorite ended up being chopped ham, a bit of cheese and a few drops of barbeque sauce. Tuna with spicy brown…
  • If you have a good amount to lose...get used to it! I am on my third round of "nothing fits right". Last time I complained about it my guy threatened to get me a pair of suspenders to wear under my shirt! I keep my mouth shut around him now....I am afraid that the next time I say something he will go get the duct tape...
  • Usually the lable is "as is", meaning just the contents of the container. Sometimes you will see 2 values given on each line, the first being "as is" the second being "prepared" meaning if you make it exactly according to the directions given. Any variations you will have to account for.
  • Are we twins? I am a coffee snob, if you get some GOOD coffee beans and grind them yourself it helps. My first 2-3 cups of the day I have to have cream in, the rest of the day (another 2-3 cups maybe) I can drink the good coffee black. I like the Land O Lakes Low Fat half & half, 25 cals per 2 tablespoons. The No…
  • I never get the same weight twice on my Wii. It has never even been close to my true weight, it is anywhere from 16 to 40 pounds off every day....sometimes 2-3 times a day! Even 5 minutes apart there is a huge difference. I use it in the same spot on hard wood floors every time. I use the bathroom scale for accurate weigh…
  • I thought I saw on one of those TV doctor shows where there is a new option available for skin removal. It is less invasive than a full tummy tuck. It can only be done on those that have good muscle structure under the fat and skin, where they pretty much just remove the extra skin and re-locate the belly button if needed.…
  • You must have set MFP at a 2 pound loss per week to make it give you the 1200 with a lightly active classification. That may be too low for you. Since you only have 5-10 pounds to lose you may want to set it for .5 to 1 pound per week. The 1200 isn't so much for dropping into starvation mode (unless you go much lower every…
  • I remember my grandpa soaking slightly questionable meat in white vinegar to kill the bacteria and rinsing it well before cooking. I don't recall any taste or smell issues...or bathroom issues after eatting it.
  • Another easy way to cook them.... put the water and oats in a pot, bring it to a boil. Turn it off, put the lid on the pot, and go to bed. In the morning you can scoop and microwave a serving, put the rest in a tupperware container in the fridge for later. Low cal things you cook in that taste good in the oats... butter…
  • When I was in my mid 30's I developed an allergy to shellfish....I grew up in the PNW and ate all sorts of seafood and never had an issue. In my early 40's the dairy started bothering me. I avoided both for a while, then slipped up and had shellfish.....and no issues! So I tried diary again last year....no issues! I can…
  • Well, the diuretic I got didn't do much. The lemon/lime water didn't do much either. My ankles and knees are still a little puffy, but not like they were on Tuesday. The scale shows that I am up 2 pounds from last week. At least that is down 2 pounds from Wednesday!
  • If you are anything like me, you get into situations where you can't eat a normal meal. If I know my day is going to be like that I take almonds and beef jerky in my purse. As long as sodium isn't an issue for you, beef or turkey jerky is low cal, low carb and very high in protein. Coupled with a bottle of water you can go…
  • Well I gingerly got on the scale today even though my joints still feel water logged and am still a bit puffy. I think I will hit the pharmacy today for that diuretic and re weigh tomorrow. The scale was not kind.
  • Sure Hun! Just let me know if you need a pat on the back or a tissue... I think Mr. S is going to be dissapointing me if I can't get this water to move. Might have to hit the pharmacy for a mild diuretic if my feet and ankles don't shrink back to normal tomorrow.
  • Flavored syrups that are sugar free that can be used in coffee or smoothies .... http://www.torani.com/ http://www.davincigourmet.com/ I like the Land O Lakes Low Fat half and half in my coffee.... 25 cals per 2 tablespoons.

  • Well I updated my food diary (maybe a bit over estimated) and my exercise log (time under estimated by maybe half) for my long weekend away. Not too bad. By the time I got home last night, from my knees to my toes was pretty puffy from the long ride in the car. I have been drinking water with lime juice today in hopes that…
  • If you are still nursing you may want to check with your doctor. If you are not nursing going under the suggested 1200 per day once in a while is not a big deal. If you are going under the suggested 1200 per day often, it could become a problem. It is difficult to get the recomended nutrition with less than that amount.
  • Not so good for me this week... no loss. TOM is hanging around yet. I've been good on the cals and the exercise, but kinda feel a bit blah. It has got to be TOM's fault.... isn't it always TOM? :grumble:
  • I'm 5'5" and pear shaped. I crossed to regular sized shirts at around 235, and pants at 225 depending on the cut and style of course. Misses XL capri pants are loose, so I am back in between sizes again.
  • Mine are a little puffy in the mornings. On the days I have to jump out of bed and run out the door I use frozen spoons. Just rub (not with pressure) them against the worst spots until the spoon warms up.

  • If sodium isn't an issue for you... 1 ounce of beef jerky. Low cals, high protein, and add a glass of water and it keeps you feeling full for a long time. If you have access to a freezer try the Yasso frozen greek yogurt bars.

  • I haven't set any goals either. In the past I would get pissed with myself for not hitting the goals and give up. I have an idea of where I would like to be as an end product, but nothing between start and finish, and definitely no time restriction! If it takes 5 years, it takes 5 years. As long as I am making reasonable…
  • My machine will do the stretch stitches and the stretch zig zag. There is plenty of excess on the band that using a strong non stretch stitch to take it in won't be a problem...it isn't supportive at all. I know the foam part will need to be done by hand though. I thought that maybe a dart from the middle of the bottom to…
  • When are we posting our results or checking in? 7, 14, 21 and end of the month? So far I have done ok on the exercise, but TOM is visiting this week, and this weekend we are going to Philly for a game and then to Atlantic City for a couple days. Maybe I picked the wrong month to do a challenge! :ohwell:
  • I am not going to lie....it hurt like a SOB for the first week! Being able to actually use my nose for breathing, and to not have sinus infection after infection was sooooo worth it! No more "head colds" that turn into pnumonia, no more sinus issues, no more "allergy" issues, and no more snoring!
  • When I had mine done in 09, I had an active job where I had to lift and carry and bend (with weight) a lot. My doc said no lifting over 10 pounds the first week, no bending below the waist for 3 weeks, and no cardio for 3 weeks. No lifting over 25 pounds for 6 weeks. My surgery got a bit more complicated than they thought…
  • My guy has been supportive ... "you are doing great"... "looking good" etc. I maintained on purpose for the month of June, didn't try to lose anything. I even didn't log my food for a week. He asked why I wasn't on MFP as much..."but you were doing so well..." Ever since then he is asking if I am logging my food. This…
