  • I started Mounjaro 5/1. Doc didn't like my A1c, wants it a little lower and to lose a bit more. Lost 40 while on metformin.

  • Shakes with 30mg didn't work for me either. Too much stress on my kidneys. Doc wants me about 75 per day right now. Just started the Mounjaro 2.5.
  • I just started the 2.5. From what I was told it is trial and error. Told to avoid high fat and sugar content. Same as for the T2D. So far all I have had is the headache and muscle pain.
  • I just started Mounjaro. T2D and CKD. Changed my eating habits and got to "high normal" on the blood work. Doc wants me lower. She thinks this med is more kidney friendly than my old meds. If I lose a bit of weight, all to the good.
  • Update.... for today 3/11 the adjustment and step count show up on the computer but not on the phone app. Still nothing on either app for 3/9 and 3/10 and no meals on the fitbit app for 3/8. Bugs....gotta love em!
  • I am in the same situation, no step count or calorie adjustment from fitbit since 3/8. On 3/8 fitbit shows no food logged on MFP when it shows every day before and after. I have even uninstalled both apps on my phone and re installed both. On the computer the fitbit was not showing as a device under the steps. I…
  • My peri lasted 18 years. I went 10 months without....then "hello" for a couple months. Have now been without for just over 2 years. I still get the occasional "pre period" symptom, the grumpy-ness, hunger, dizzy, bloat, etc. I still have the nasty wringing wet night sweats a couple times a week. Still get the "power surge"…
  • BTDT. I have multiple pairs of expensive shoes and orthotics too. Nothing more discouraging than painful useless feet! You know what you have to do food wise. Now you just have to find a pair of shoes that helps you with the foot issues so you can do the activity part of the equation. Over the course of 3 years I had…

  • My favorite treat is greek yogurt with a few goodies... if you are reasonable you can stay under 200 cals. key lime with a bit of oat and honey granola....tastes like key lime pie black cherry with a few mini chocolate chips and almond slivers....black forest coconut with a few mini chocolate chips....mounds bar.....add…
  • Works even better with rice noodles!
  • I find the yogurt with stuff already mixed in too sweet. I find the plain greek too "tart". So I get a big tub of Vanilla flavored low fat yogurt and a big tub of Fage 2% and mix them together. Then I can add some fruit, almonds or a bit of granola to jazz it up. Not too sweet, not too "tart".
  • What seems to work for me without the expense of getting a HRM ... While in weight loss mode (vs maint.) I would cut my time in half when using the MFP calculator, as well as reducing the "intensity" level a couple notches...such as entering walking 2.5 mph for 30 minutes instead of entering walking 4 mph for 60 minutes…
  • I am not fond of plain yogurt, either regular or greek. I am also not fond of the overly sweet regular yogurts with fruit. So... I get a quart of "light" regular vanilla and a quart of plain Fage 0 greek yogurt and mix them together. Then I can add fresh fruit, slivered almonds or a bit of granola to liven it up.
  • You can trace the start of the epidemic back to the 70's. That was when the shift from whole food to processed and fast foods kicked into high gear. Growing up we didn't have a lot of cash to feed a large family, we ate whole foods that were cooked at home. We didn't get sweets from the store, we made our own using real…
  • Look at your food diary. Try to figure out what is making you bloat. I figured out my biggest triggers were highly processed grains, artificial sweetners and whey protein. I can eat minimally processed grains and regular sugar, in moderation, with no problem. I avoid whey protein all together now, but can eat regular dairy…
  • I love the garllic pepper chicken at our local Thai place, comes with steamed rice and steamed vegies. They also have a grilled salmon that is really good, just ask for sauce on the side. I prefer Thai options because they don't use soy sauce and MSG.
  • My usual night time snacks... 1/2 apple with a stick of reduced fat colby/jack cheese aprox 100 cals a mix of 1/2 greek plain and 1/2 "light" vanilla yogurt (3oz each) plus either sliced almonds or berries aprox 150 cals a snack cup of no added sugar applesauce with a sprinkle of plain granola aprox 125 cals
  • Too many things on the ingredients that I can't identify. If I don't know what it is, or pronounce it, I try not to eat it. :ohwell:
  • My guy broke his ankle in 2 places last October. He was in a cast and on crutches for 8 weeks. It was supposed to be 6 weeks. Because he is a stubborn cuss he tried to stay upright on his crutches too much and that caused some severe swelling. When you can't move your lower leg, your muscles can not force the extra fluid…
  • If they have a strange odor they may have been contaminated somewhere along the line. Contact the manufacturer and let them know that you have a concern/issue and see what they have to say. Contact the store where you bought the box and let them know the lot number and expiration dates on the box so they can check and see…
  • Ignorant people say all sorts of crap. It is no ones business but yours and your partners if you choose to have children or not. I got comments and pressure for years to have children. In my case it never was a possibility, but people will still make assumptions. When they pushed and got stupid about it I just looked at…
  • "reality" TV isn't real. Give me a good "fiction" show any time.
  • I have been through the same thing, only my boss directly told me during an annual review that as soon as he had "reason" he would be terminating me. Do yourself a huge favor....get the comments on video or audio tape! Written documentation did not help me keep my job, but it did get me a wrongful termination judgement.…
  • I don't have kids, but I do have a guy that eats like a picky child. Sometimes he eats a lot, some times he just eats a few bites. He never eats vegies (except potatoes and corn) and his fruit consists of grape jelly and orange flavored vitamin water or orange gatorade. When I was growing up we just didn't waste anything,…
  • I like the Natures Own Double Fiber wheat bread. Looks like a regular slice of sandwich bread instead of the thin sliced stuff. It is only 50 cals per slice. They even have a Sugar Free wheat bread. Both toast up nice without turning into a crouton.
  • A trick for freezing plain wheat pasta..... toss it in a very little olive oil before you bag and freeze. When I make spaghetti there are always more noodles than sauce left. I toss the extra noodles with a little olive oil, put them in a zipper bag and into the freezer. When I need them I dip the bag in hot water (not…
  • I made my own when I was working. I would make 3-4 different 3-4 serving meals on the weekend and portion them out into freezable containers. You can also use the heavy paper plates and slide the entire meal into a gallon size ziplock bag to freeze. As long as you use them up within 2-3 weeks you are fine. You can pretty…
  • Bare Minerals products for any foundation, blush and concealer. Love the primer and the mineral veil as well. I went 10 years without makeup of any kind (sensitive and rosacea) before I found this and I have never had a reaction to these products. I have yet to find a mascara that doesn't turn me into a racoon after an…
  • I grew up in the north Seattle area and still have lots of family and friends there. Stay out of the area between Everett and Marysville, my brother tells me that the area has gone down hill. He now lives in the Arlington area and the commute is a killer. My best friend lives in the east Olympia area and has 5 acres in a…
  • If I needed some sort of cardiac surgery I would consider him. Anything else....NO!
