Thanks for sharing your story! Congratulations and thanks for the inspiration.

Monday I set my goal to maintenance because I was struggling and didn't feel I was "in the zone" any longer. I just didn't want to gain. This morning I woke up and realized I'm back in the zone. I'm glad that I still tracked and maintained instead of gaining or throwing in the towel completely. And this morning I reset my…

I also get tomatoey and sweaty and I cycle as my main mode of transportation. I have to give myself a good half hour to cool down and freshen up before my work day begins. I will be red for hours depending on how far I've cycled. One thing I've found that works really well is this pressed powder Clinique makes called…

I could have written this. I track my weight loss by how my clothes feel. Right now my goal is to fit into all of my size 14 non-stretchy pants by Thanksgiving (the Canadian Thanksgiving on October 13). When I started this challenge on September 2, none of those pants fit comfortably. Now three of them do. Only five more…

Congratulations on your FSV!

Cycling uphill to work seems almost effortless now. I am fitting into smaller clothes than I was last week too. And, I'm not sure if this is weight loss, healthy eating or what, but I usually suffer from terrible insomnia, and I haven't experienced it in about a month and a half.

Fantastic results! Looking forward to another post from you in June or thereabouts (if not sooner).

Just found this article and thought of this thread. http://business.financialpost.com/2014/09/10/why-setting-ambitious-goals-can-cause-you-more-harm-than-good/?__lsa=5be1-a184

I find that too. I do what I do and some weeks show little to no loss and others are impressive even if my eating and activity remains constant. It's good to remember this during those rather maddening times when it seems like nothing good is happening.
-
Congratulations! Getting past a mental block like "I can only diet for two weeks" is a huge success too.

Way to go! I have issues with the scale too to the point where my therapist told me not to weigh myself at all. I eat healthily and exercise and use my changing pant sizes to gauge how things are going. I'm down two sizes since the beginning of July. Congratulations! You look fantastic!

Excellent! Congratulations!

I've gotten a few comments about my weight loss from colleagues this week since we are teachers and haven't seen each other for a couple of months, but had to laugh today at a student call out, "Oh my God, Miss! You have lost SO much weight!" ha ha Yep. Two dress sizes in two months.

Pants nearly fell down when I was out today, so onto the donation pile they go. Then I tried on ones that I haven't been able to fit into and two pair fit. Funny thing is that when I take my measurements, I only do neck, waist, and hips, but I must have lost between the hips and waist in order to fit into these…

Cycling! Nothing makes me feel like a kid again like cycling.

Had to go out and purchase a new bike since the brakes and gears on my $125 kijiji special were no longer any good. I hadn't cycled in two days and felt like I was in withdrawal. If cycling is my addiction, it sure beats sugar. And I love the new bike.

Love this! I went bike riding with my son and the same thing happened. He had previously told me that he wouldn't go too fast and embarrass me.
-
Excellent advice! I play a bit of a game with myself called "5 Weeks/One Dress Size" which has allowed me to drop a dress size and a half this summer (since I'm not quite finished the second cycle). It is very motivating.
-
Great attitude! I am a teacher and while I am just as active during the school year as I am during the summer, I find the stress makes losing weight harder. Better to lose slowly than to gain.

You look great! Way to go!

Great job! Learning what works is such a process and I love your sense of humour (even thought you didn't really look like Meat Loaf the pic comparison was hilarious).

Excellent! What a great feeling!!! Congratulations!

Amazing! Congratulations, Frank!

Just got back from a six week vacation. I was determined to drop a dress size between July 1 and September 1. Woohoo! I did it during vacation. So happy. Goodbye size 16 pants! The 14's I'm wearing are a bit tight, but they should loosen up before September 1. I'm especially excited because I usually gain weight during…

ha ha Thanks for the laugh. I completely understand. Mine is generally a nice person but could be a jerk about my weight when we were together.

Excellent! Very inspirational. When I take a look at how differently my parents have aged, I keep thinking I want to be like my mom who is 67 and hikes and walks everywhere and has never been on medication for a chronic condition. My dad wound up losing limbs and spent the last six months of his life barely able to breathe…

So fantastic that you know what works for you. It took me a long time to figure out that a lower carb diet is the way for me to go too. Even years ago when I lost weight and got to goal with Weight Watchers, I went over my old journals and my best losses were weeks when I didn't have many simple carbs even though I was…

I love reading all of the NSVs, but I think this one is my favourite. :)

You are looking great! I like your tips too since they are the same ones that work for me. :)

Good job!
