  • I am 46 and doing a low-carb eating plan of my own and have lost 23 lbs since January. I want to lose an additional 20-30 by the end of this year (hopefully). Feel free to add me.
  • I feel so much better on a low-carb eating plan than any low-fat diet I have ever been on before. I feel full and satisfied, not like I was on low-fat. I eat none of that processed crap in a box that is loaded with sugar and salt. I have friends that this has worked for and they have maintained it as a lifestyle - not just…
  • Ditto...I so agree. I shop at our local Farmer's Markets because we don't have a place to grow our own veggies. I also believe in spending my hard earn money on good healthy foods (the best quality) for my health than purchasing something in a box that is processed. People need to invest in their health like they so easily…
  • I watch both. Right now, my calories are set at 1800, but I never make that...it is more between 1200-1500 most days. Carbs are alittle more of a priority for me and I keep mine below 50g. When I started this past January, I was at 100g and totally focused on carbs more than calories then. Good luck.
  • I keep mine between 45-50g and feeling fine. I notice when I don't drink enough water, I feel alittle sluggish so trying to keep myself hydrated. Good luck.
  • Peanut butter on celery is a good one. I purchase dips made by Cabot like Buttermilk Ranch and French Onion and dip low-carb crackers (found at Whole Foods) and cucumber/celery. Lots of different cheeses to have with veggies or low-carb crackers. I also like peanut butter on Coco - Popcakes (which are low carb and come in…
  • I don't currently have a PCP, but when I went to my GYN back in late January and mentioned that I had started the low-carb lifestyle back at the beginning of the month, she wasn't overly supportive of it. She did seem to think that if it works for me then do it. She was more worried about me not getting enough calcium, so…
  • I haven't done the Dukan Diet personally, but have a good friend who did it last year and lost over 75 pounds and has maintained it. I am doing a low-carb eating plan of my own and have lost almost 20 pounds since January of this year. I really like how it is working for me and that I am feeling great on it as well. Good…

  • 9:00 a.m. Breakfast 10:30 a.m. Snack (not everyday) 11:30 a.m. Lunch 2:00 p.m. Snack 5:30-6 p.m. Dinner 7-8 p.m. Snack (only if I am still hungry)
  • Congrats, what a great accomplishment. You look awesome and so much younger too!
  • Your joints don't hurt You can take the stairs without huffing and puffing at the top You can wear heels and walk around all day in them You can fit into clothes you haven't worn in years You have to make more holes in your belts Your yoga pants are too long and you have to continuously pull them up
  • I eat salads with full fat dressing and eggplant parm on a low-carb eating plan. Just stay away from anything with pasta and bread and of course no dessert either.
  • I find that eating something every 2-3 hours is the key to not have carb cravings.
  • I started out this January at 100g then gradually took it down when my weight loss slowed down. I am now at 60g. I have lost 13 lbs since starting at the beginning of Jan. I preferred to go slower than most. I know some low-carbers that start immediately at 30g. I haven't decided if I will ever go that low...it will depend…
  • Going to be 46 next month and I am doing a low-carb eating plan. Have lost 12 pounds since starting in January, but looking to lose an additional 20-30 pounds. Feel free to add me.
  • Here are some more I found...don't know the exact carbs on them, but they have low carb ingredients. I love smoothies and plan on making some of these as the weather warms up. Raspberry Strawberry Blackberry Smoothie 1/2 cup raspberries 1/2 cup strawberries 1/2 cup blackberries 1 cup almond milk ice cubes Raspberry…
  • Chocolate Hazelnut Smoothie: 3g net carbs 2 scoops chocolate protein shake mix 1/2 Cup heavy cream 1/4 Cup sugar free hazelnut syrup Place protein mix, cream and syrup in a blender with ice; blend until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses. Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired. Strawberry-Banana Smoothie - 12g carbs 4 cups sliced…
  • I rarely eat any frozen low carb pre-made meals. I either make my own meals or go to a place that makes homemade stuff like Farmer's Market and high-end markets. I like to watch my sodium as well because those frozen meals are packed with them.
  • I don't exercise regularly right now, but when I do, I don't eat back my carbs.
  • I have the somewhat the same problem, but I am usually around 1200 calories - don't really go too much less than that (only occasionally). I have my MFP set at 1600 calories daily. Some days I do find that I am not that hungry and I have ate all my allow carbs so I just go with it.
  • Feel free to add me. Been doing low-carb since January and lovin' it. I post "what's for dinner tonight?" and happy to share recipes too.
  • You are not missing out on anything...they are horrible sugary crap. If I wanted something sweet, they would be the last thing I would pick.
  • I would get them out of your closet ASAP and give them away. My feeling is if I can't fit into what is in my closet and my clothes feel tight...it will motivate me even more to stay on track. There isn't the bigger sizes to fall back on.
  • I am not on any of the eating plans like Atkins, South Beach or Dukan, but have read a bunch of books about low-carb eating and have found a bunch of recipes off this site and Linda's Low Carb plus just going out on the web. I didn't do any kind of bread or pasta for the first month and half but I have found a low carb…
  • I am doing low-carb and I stick to between 50-70 grams most days now. When I started back in mid-January I was doing around 100 grams to start off with. Some days are harder than others and you will crave things that are higher in carbs, but you just have to even it out like have something with less carbs at another meal…
  • Because I am doing low-carb...eating lots of salmon lately and one of my favorites is salmon almondine: Take butter and chopped almonds saute in pan till brown, then squeeze alittle lemon juice and pour over salmon (either pan fried, grilled or baked).
  • Wow that is a lot of soda. I have heard that you shouldn't drink that stuff on a daily basis...can affect your gallbladder too. So sad for that woman to have such an addiction that it took her life and now those eight children will grow up without a mother.
  • I am on a low-carb eating plan which I started the beginning of last month. I have read a bunch of books on low-carb eating and they do say for some people it might take a bit at first to get use to being on a low-carb diet - feeling spacey and such. How many carbs are you allowing yourself daily? I am doing between 70-90…
  • That is so awesome. You look great and love your determination.
  • I don't think it comes in travel size, but the coconut and peanut spread by Earth Balance is so delicious...maybe you can just put it in a travel size container.
