  • I am almost a year in eating low-carb and I still will have the occasional days where I feel nausea or headachy, but I do noticed that if I haven't drank water enough or it is getting close to the end of the day I am still far from my daily 40g of carbs, these things will do that to me.
  • Chicken Marsala with Roasted Green Beans. The rest of the family will have a baked potato while I will have a sweet potato and I will definitely be partaking in a cannoli for dessert - after all it is the holiday.
  • Your doing great! In the beginning I was still looking for sweets and I would eat the Atkins chocolate bars but by 5 months in I stopped them because I realized one day that I really wasn't craving them anymore. There are tons of low-carb recipe sites out there and someone recently asked for recommended sites here in this…

  • I count all and I don't have an issue.
  • Great job and so glad to have come across your story. I also do my own low-carb eating plan (no more than 40g a day) so yes, I eat carbs but I choose ones on the lower end. I don't feel deprived at all. Eating things that are higher fat and protein definitely keeps me feeling fuller a lot longer than when I was on…
  • Can you move them away from your area? That is what I would do to lessen the temptation. Also, if the temptation is still to great, have a small piece and get it over with it...you can taste and then be done with it. The longing for the sweets does lessen over time when being on low carb to almost the point that you know…
  • I love who I see in the mirror now. I love the way I look in clothes now (being able to wear two sizes smaller and feeling comfortable in them). I love all the compliments I get especially hearing my Dad say how proud and great I look. I love having control over my new lifestyle and what goes in my mouth!
  • I usually have a cup of Skinnypop or Boom Chicka popcorn and I recently discovered EZ Gourmet Cinnamon Crunchy Cookies that are 1g net carb that are awesome! I love them with my hot tea.

  • Congrats, you look awesome! I read your profile and I know what it is like to be infertile and go thru so much pain (and gain weight from it too) because you do lose yourself. Once your focus isn't entirely on getting pregnant anymore and more on yourself and your relationship, it is amazing what you can do. Good luck with…
  • I say give yourself some more time. The first couple of weeks is water weight lost and then you will see the weight come off if you keep your carbs low. Good luck and stay strong, you can do this!
  • 5 a.m. - M-F NO alarm set on weekends unless I have somewhere to be then between 7-8 a.m.
  • Go out onto the Internet and search low-carb soups, you will come up with a bunch of recipes out there. I make butternut squash, pumpkin, thai coconut chicken, broccoli and cheese, cauliflower, etc.
  • I love low-carb and it is a lifestyle and not a "DIET" or a quick fix in my eyes. It is just like commiting to anything else, if you want it bad enough, you will do and the weight will come off. I don't feel deprived on low-carb at all and what keeps it going for me is I find low carb recipes (that taste really good) and I…
  • Halloween is no problem for me...we don't give out candy as we live on a very dark road in the country. Thanksgiving, I have already picked out a couple of low-carb side dishes to have but I am sure there will be stuffing and potatoes in there too for my non low carb family members but my plan is to stick to my low carb as…
  • 1. Peanut Butter 2. Almonds 3. Meats like ham, turkey and chicken 4. Cheese (all different kinds) 5. Vegetables - like broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, or lettuce. 5. Always have a cup of green tea in the afternoon.
  • I started this past January and have lost 28 pounds so far. I am lovin low carb so much and I don't feel deprived like I did when I watched my fat and calorie intake. I never lost this much doing that either...it was always a struggle. This is my lifestyle now and I don't look at it as a diet - that is what I think is part…
  • Great job in resisting the temptation...it does get easier as time goes on.
  • I prefer to go on low-carb websites like these to get easy recipes: http://lusciouslowcarb.blogspot.com http://lowcarbdiets.about.com http://www.lowcarbfriends.com http://www.djfoodie.com/ http://lowcarboneday.com - this one is my favorite http://yourlighterside.com http://www.genaw.com http://www.sparkpeople.com (look for…
  • I haven't found this to be true. I eat earth balance coconut & peanut spread every morning during the week and sometimes almonds too. I am still losing.
  • Great job...that is a great accomplishment...congrats - you look wonderful and I am sure you are feeling wonderful too. P.S. It's it awesome to go clothes shopping for smaller sizes and clothes that fit better...woo hoo!
  • I won't do carb-free but low carb has been working for me for the last 7 months. I enjoy my new lifestyle and I don't feel deprived, I can eat out at restuarants and I feel great. If you truely want this, you can make it happen. I plan to do this as a lifestyle (not a quick fix diet) for a long time. There are lots of…
  • I would go with #5 (even though you say this one is tight and couldn't zipper it alone - you would never know that by the photo...looks like it fits you so well. Second would be #4.
  • I have read a bunch by Dana Carpender (my favorite is "How I Gave Up My Low-Fat Diet and Lost 40 Pounds"..loved it!)
