It automatically subtracts the 500 calories. The lowest it wants you to eat is 1200 daily and then eat back your exercise calories. SO BEAR MINIMUM intake would be 1200 cal/day. but you adjust it to lifestyle and how much you want to workout, then when you add your exercise, walking etc it adds those calories to the pre…

What an amazing accomplishment & motivation. I lost close to 75 lbs before getting pregnant, put on some weight quick the first trimester but have been stready since with little weight gain to "play catch up" in a healthy way. I am glad I lost the weight first because I had been heavy my whole life but knowing that it can…

I absolutely loved mine until the dog decided to eat it. My hubbs is buying me another for my birthday. I loved that it not only did the steps and distance but the stairs and elevations (we hike a lot) This was awesome and a great motivator for me!!!

Rock it girl!!!! I don't know how much longer I can wear mine this year as now that I am preggers and starting to show, Idk how cute…

Thoughts and prayers to your father and your family. I hope the liver is a match and is accepted well. There are so many advances that have expanded the matching capabilities for transplant recipients. I am a nurse and actually have been taking care of a woman several weeks post op from a liver transplant and she is doing…

I agree with StacieL. Get a support system that has a good give and take. Inperson friends will help keep you motivated by going for that walk or job with you, while online they can help with words and additional emotional support needed on our journies for healthier selves. My husband in the begining was supportive of me,…

My husband and I started last summer with doing shorter (3 mile or less hikes) Now that I have my fitbit we have started doing hikes that are a little bit longer. A week ago, I thought we were taking the pup for a 6 mile hike, turned out to be an 8 mile hike, but was so exhilerating. If you ever head over to the North East…

I have been here for the last few weeks- month, my husband gets upset with me that I tend to obsess over it at times. I have not weighed myself in 2 days and think I will start weighing in on Wed or Thursday mornings.

I have had to have my husband completely undress me & "assist" walking me to the shower cuz I hurt so bad. - When coworkers ask if everything is ok, because you circle a chair 10 times like a dog trying to find the "right spot" on a dog bed, because sitting down hurts your core and your legs too bad.

Kudos!!! That is a HUGE NSV!!!!!!!! Be very proud of yourself!!!!

The site has workouts and a plan for you. Friends and family are doing it with me In August in NY. I am so looking forward to it. There is also an ipod app- C25K, couch to 5K to get you to work up to a 5 k run. The warrior dash site gives you the workout suggestions starting 8 weeks out or so. Check it out! GOOD LUCK &…

That is awesome!!! The fact that you allow yourself to "indulge" on occassion is how I have made this time around a new healthier life style as opposed to a diet and comletely restricting myself. I am a nurse and I tell my patients that I am a realist, telling a diabetic to NEVER have sugar again they will tell me to leave…

After a day and a half of not being able to eat for a medical procedure food is on my mind so much. This looks like it might just "hit the spot"! Thanks for the share. I love all the additional ideas as well- i would drop the coconut for me but leave them for the hubbys plate if he wanted some!

Some family and friends of mine will be signing up shortly for a Warrior Dash in August. 2 of us are going to see a trainer to get some help and then the couch to 5k on ipod

My original was to lose 100-115 pounds. I am at almost 60 now, started in september 2011..... good luck, add me if you would like.

I am very sorry for your family's loss. As I was crying my beagle came put his paw on my leg and rolled into me to give me a "hug". I have been in your wife's shoes. It doesn't matter how short or long you have them, our animals (or as my family & friends call them "fur babies") are one of us. They do love us…

if you have them linked they will automatically update- and just rename the activity later. Just remember to record the activity by holding the button and then shutting off when done. I have had my fit bit for 3 weeks now and keep forgetting about one or the other- lol Good luck & have fun!
