+1 RIP to a very great man. I hope that the whole world learns to live by his principles.

yes I have lost about 25% of my body weight from cycling but have got into longer distances, then the food becomes more of an issue. Do NOT look up Audax, it is very addictive. ;>)

It was 30 years ago, before a lot of the conflict resolution schemes came into existence. It gave him a lot of confidence that has stood him in good stead for the rest of his, so far, life. If there had been self defence classes they would also have had this effect. But 1 good retaliatory blow did the job.

When it happened gto my son, I taught him to punch HARD. He only had to land 1 blow and the rest of the group backed off.

Cycling specifically Audax

Just started back on circuit traing so at about 30 mins per day but will build it up to to about 50 mins. Then there is cycling, anything up to 12 hours on the bike, one or two days a month, with some shorter rides between to keep me sane.

I have a "Body Media" / Ki fit. This is expensive but is meant to be worn all day every day and gives a good indication of total calorie burn etc. It can even tell the difference between arm curls and walking. (it is worn on the arm), takes a few days to "learn" what you do. It gives a much better value for calorie burn…
-
You need one with a chest strap to get any degree of accuracy. I have a Polar FT7 recommended. I use it for gym, walking, cycling.

Definatly this I was going stir crazy when we had some Ice recently

This sounds very dangerous BUMP Thank You
-
Cycling, walking, and dumbells at home. Gyms are to expensive for me.
-
I love mine after 7 months of use and it is a lot more accurate than a pedometer when I am cycling or doing the circuite training as there is a good corellation between it and the HRM FT7 that I also use when working out. It can tell the differance between bicep curls and walking. edited to say that I use MFP for the food…
