And even though the link indicates C2, it really IS a C1 recipe for dinner. Simmie

Try a smoothie!!! Here's what I do: 1 cup Kefir (120 calories) -- or you can use plain, unsweetened yogurt 1 cup berries (~70 calories) 1 Tbsp olive oil (120 calories) 1 scoop protein powder (140 calories) That's 450 calories. If that's too many calories for your liking, you can eliminate the olive oil.

If you're doing THAT much exercise, it's a good idea NOT to do Cycle 1 -- not enough going in to provide you with the energy you need. It's recommended to do C2 and C3 if you're exercising that much. Also, add some bulk protein (meaning chicken, meat, etc.) in addition to the protein powder/shakes and make sure you're…

Do you mind if I join y'all? I'm not just beginning on the 17DD -- I've been on it since February of last year and with the exception of these last two months where I've been at war with the same few pounds up and down and decided to just do a 5-day stretch of C1, I've lost weight pretty much every time (I did C3 for 10+…

Definitely eat more!!!! I've lost about 97-99 pounds since February of last year and without fail, when I added calories (healthy foods mind you!), the loss started up at a higher rate. It sounds like you're not eating 1,200 **net** calories. Try that and see how it works.

Since there are a bunch of 17DD FB communities, I figured I'd post the link to the Official community (which is run by the PR firm promoting the book, but they rarely participate): http://www.facebook.com/17daydiet

No dairy, but can you use liquid eggs? (I know, stooopid question) If so, why not make protein pancakes: 2 large eggs or 1/2 cup liquid eggs 1 scoop protein powder 1 tsp olive oil 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp cinnamon (optional) 1/2 Tbsp flaxseed meal Combine everything and mix well; let sit for about 7 minutes to let the…

Couldn't agree more! Although "they" say that the last 5-10 lbs is the hardest to lose! I can attest to that <g>

I agree -- get a food scale -- best investment I've ever made. Because a cup is a cup is a cup is NOT true. You'd think 6 ounces = 3/4 cup, right? But 6 ounces of blueberries measured out, depending on their size, is more than 1 cup. And when I "cream" my CarbMasters yogurt to get it smoother, 6 ounces = 1/2 cup. So it…

In addition to the Cycle 1 recipe link on the 17DDGal blog above (that's me, by the way), there's also links to Cycle 1 recipes on TheDoctorsTV site on the blog -- alphabetized for finding things easier. Here's the link: http://17ddgal.blogspot.com/2011/11/recipe-links-thedoctorstv-website-c1.html There's a LOT of great…

Something to remember when weighing yourself: What you ate 2-3 days ago is what your scale reflects today. It takes that long for your body to process what you've put into it, convert the energy, build muscle (or fat), etc. Also when your weight DOES go up (and it will at some point), remember that it's most likely due to…

I used to do that, only it was more self-sabotage than anything else. For me now, it's taken me a little over a year to reach the 97 lb loss place and I'll be darned if I'll start going back up again. Plus the changes I've made in what I eat -- I can't eat a lot of fatty stuff like the cheese I used to oh-soooo-enjoy, as I…

The important thing is to make this work for you and your schedule, etc. 6 lbs in 14 days is nothing to shake a stick at! How much is your goal to lose total?

I've been taking one tablet every morning to help alleviate sugar/sweets cravings. Works well for that and no side effects for me.

If you're ok with the carb and sugar overload with them, go for it. For me, I'd go with a protein shake made with Kefir or greek yogurt + fresh fruit. With as much carbs and sugar as the protein bars have, a lot of people suffer that sugar or carb crash once it winds its way through your system. There are a LOT more…

Here's a calculator from the University of Maryland on fat intake; it's for normal eating, not dieting, but at least gives you a jumping-off point on figuring out what you should set as your realistic goal: http://www.healthcalculators.org/calculators/fat.asp

Go to WalMart and look at the Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein Powders. Really healthy, great flavors. It comes in Vanilla, Vanilla Creme, Strawberry, Chocolate (REALLY good flavor and I'm not a chocolate person), Strawberries and Cream. And a good price to boot -- $14.98 for 2 lbs. Not a lot of sugar (1g per…

Here's what's helped me and some others on this diet.... Here's some ideas for getting past constipation: * Green tea is KNOWN to be constipating. Back off on it or eliminate it completely (I don't drink it as it constipates me and it's not impacted my loss at all) * Eat more fiber-rich foods. * Make sure you're getting a…

It is not ok to extend cycle 1!!! If you want to continue losing weight, stick to 17days only. This diet is ALL about fooling your metabolism -- in the book Dr. Mike states that after 17 days, your body gets into a habit and then the loss stops if you don't continue with that "fooling" thing. Besides, it is not healthy to…

YIKES! SHAME on your Trainer for putting you on a 1,000 calorie diet even withOUT exercising. Have you questioned him about why so few calories? I'd be having a sit-down with him to find out why he's putting you and keeping you in famine/starvation mode -- definitely not healthy.

Hi there everyone! My name is Simmie and I've been on this since February of last year -- I've lost right around 93 lbs. I've gone down 6 dress sizes and reached my clothing size goal the day before I was on this one year (I highly recommend setting a clothing size goal in addition to a weight-related goal). I went on this…

OMG! This is great!!!! Too bad a lot of it is true -- I've had friends on Alli and they made the mistake of leaving the house and not being close to a bathroom. Between the stomach cramps (bend-you-over-and-can't-walk kind) and the diarrhea, this product should be taken off the market! Thanks for the post -- loved it!

The thing with the "meal by meal" what you should eat is that the meal plans in the book are for ideas only. Most of us make up our own meals and just eat healthy!!!

I've been on it for over a year and have lost 92 lbs as of this morning; I'd been at 95 pounds down, but gained a few pounds -- way easy to take whatever you gained back off! Lots of really GREAT recipes out there too :-)
