I couldn't agree more! When I first started 7 months ago, I thought 5.5 was soooo fast! I couldn't even last 15-20 minutes including my cool down! Now I can go 30-60 minutes and after my warm up, I bump the treadmill to a 5.5 and it feels like a steady jog.... I will bump up gradually to a 6.0 then back to 5.5, up and down…

I actually did say to my husband last year as we were taking a walk and past a larger woman jogging, " WOW - look at her go! If she can do it, why can't I?" And so I started running that week.... I find that running where other people are around helps me with my form. I am a sloucher so I will automatically check my…

I will be 37 this year and do not really know what my style is anymore... what I like does not fit my body type ( skinny jeans included) and I tend to LIVE in boot cut jeans, baggy t-shirts and sneakers... however, I am really leaning towards more dresses for the spring and summer - vintage inspired 50's 60's dresses -…

If I am out with friends and they all want ice cream or some other sweet desert, I have sorbet. If it's not available, I pass. Also, I will take my own snacks such as baby carrots or raw almonds in a little baggie. Then I am not tempted to get soft pretzels, onion rings, nachos or what ever other crap vendors/resturants…

I do eat my calories back ( most of them anyway) but I was just wondering this same thing today... I made the mistake of stepping on the scale this morning and although I can see a difference in my legs and waist, the scale is not moving!! Maybe I should cut back on how much of it I do eat back....

"Not Since Moses" HAHAHA I love it! That sounds like such a good time!

I do not know if this will help you but this is part of my story/advice: I have only been a vegetarian for a year. Doing so ended years of stomach and migraine issues. A LOT of my friends were telling me I am not eatting enough protein but eating to many carbs and that was part of my weight issue... When I started on MFP…

@alodell89 - Nerves are a BIG part of it! @86_OHMS - "I've heard, if you want to do it on a treadmill, set the incline to 3.0 to factor in how your legs are going to feel after hitting some hills. "Flat" courses aren't that flat... and it's best to train outside for all purposes." Great tip! I will definitely try this!…

LOL - OK! I know Allyson will want to do it too...

It is nice to know that I am not the only one that thinks like this! What to wear would have been a big stressor too! I know my local fire dept has a charity race early in the summer. I think I will look into that because I know I would psych myself out by waiting until October for the other one. Who knows? Maybe I will…

Thanks both of you~ This does help me - I think I need to take a deep breath and jump in! Why should I let this intimidate me? now if I can just convince the race people to start later then 8AM... LOL

Whichever you choose, you are still lapping the person sitting on the couch!

if you leave the seed in the other half and wrap it tight with plastic wrap or an air tight container, it will keep until the next day... it might get some dark spots on top but if that bothers you, just scrap it off...

He is lucky he did not break your focus more then he did and cause you to fall! I think you handled him just fine... but I agree with others, if he does it again, tell him to mind his own business....

I just started these this week! I don't have a bar so I use hand weights too... not nearly as much weight as others yet but I will get there!

This is the same situation my sister was in when our older sister moved in with her. Younger sis had to deal with her husband complaining about the older one who was basically freeloading too. After about a month, younger sis could not take the stress.... Younger sis would eventually start to talk loudly on the phone,…

My sore abs are a reminder of the 6 pack hiding in the background waiting to busy out! And I love that I have more endurance then I did 6 months ago!

These posts are making me laugh -I people watch ALL the time - what distractes me are the loud conversations that go on right next to me or the one guy who always gets the treadmill next to mine that sweats a river all over the control panel... If you ever get a chance... check out my friend Jill's blog -…

I do really well with watching my calories all week BUT then the weekends happen... BEER. That's my sabotaging agent... So I am giving that up. So, I am happily searching the internet for low calorie cocktails to replace it with... I can have just 1 cocktail with dinner and that's it where with beer I will have 2-3 and not…

I love my spibelt! I only got it a few months ago so when I have used it, it was between layers of shirts. I have a silicone case on my phone so I do not think sweat will bother it. I put the earphone jack facing the end of the zipper and I pull the earphones up through my shirt and out the neck. Before that, I just held…

I am glad to see I am not alone! The balls of my feel go numb ( toes too) at the 20 minute mark on elipticals and steppers... not on the treadmill. My toes even go numb if I sit with my legs crossed for too long. I will have to look into the diabetic thing listed above... It does not matter what shoe/sock I am wearing or…

I gained 40 punds last year after going off the pill - started dieting and adding running, joining a gym... nothing helped- I was still gaining! Unitl I started counting my calories and understanding my hormones and what was really going on... I have only lost 4 pounds since Jan 12th but it's a start! I never thought…

My Doctor took me off of the pill a year ago as of Jan 20th and put me on Mirena. I gained 20 pounds in the first month and steadly gained a total of 40 pounds in the year. I changed my diet, then went vegetarian, then started running, joined a gym, was working out regularly and nothing was stopping the weight gain. I…
