I think you are talking about the squat track in body pump and this is not the same as doing squats in the gym. I lift about 22kg for this track also but if you aren't strong enough to put the bar on your shoulders then you can drop the weight, practise the clean and press to get it there or ask a friend to help you lift…

I've had 2 kids and my tummy is covered in loose saggy skin that is never going to go away without surgery. The more weight I lose the worse it gets. I know I will never have visible abs, no matter what I do or what my body fat percentage is.

Can I ask what you use to measure your body fat? There is a hand held machine in the gym which isn't too accurate and measures me at 27% body fat, which is the same measurement is gave me when I was 2 stone heavier and not as toned as I am now. I've heard calipers aren't accurate either and instructors don't like to use…

Before I got my HRM I used "Calisthenics (pushups, sit-ups), vigorous effort" for that type of class. It won't be as accurate but it should give a good indication of how you're doing.

I've done pump twice a week for nearly 2 years and the results are obvious. It will tone every muscle you have and it's fun. I love it so highly recommend you give it a go!

You should ask the staff. If you pay gym membership this normally includes advice and a program. You will need help on what weghts to use and technique to get it right and make it effective.

Completely agree! The lectures I have had to listen to from people telling me I train too hard, eat too little, like they are experts and they are literally twice my size!!

I am 43 and have been single for many years and I have been hit on by about 5 young me average age 25. I'm like you, i don't understand the physical attraction and I am not even tempted (although I have friends who have). I have a rule that if I'm old enough to be their mother then its a no go!!

I just bought a Polar FT4. It was only £50 on amazon and it gives me all the info I need, heart rates, whether I'm working in my fat burning zone, and calories burned. I would recommend it as it is good value for money :)

I've been doing body pump twice a week for about a year and a half. It has toned practically every muscle and I have and the classes are really fun. I lift heavy weights and really push myself but wearing my HRM I only burned just over 200 calories so 600 is an estimate for some people depending on their fitness levels.…

I think your body lets you know if it needs water. If you are drinking sweet tea then this is probably enough for you as you are still intaking fluid. I can't stand drinking water unless I am thirsty and then it's lovely. No other animals are told when to eat and drink and the recommended 8 glasses is not something people…

I love spinning!! I go to at least 4 classes a week and I get such a high when they are over and I am drenched in sweat! Some people bring their own padded seat cover but I just got used to it and don't bother. Keep at it, it's a huge calorie burner and loads of fun!!
