  • My husband and I just completed our first full round yesterday! We loved it! I tried the program by myself last fall, and only made it a week into month 2 before I quit. It helped me a great deal to have my husband doing it with me, so I do recommend a workout buddy. Even if that is simply someone here on MFP that you…
  • My husband and I completed D1M2 yesterday also, and I think someone else here used the same term I did for it: Murder! We were both totally exhausted after that workout, but we're both looking forward to seeing all those results we keep hearing about. I so badly needed this post today - thanks all!!
  • Over 3 weeks into Insanity for the second time (only made it into the first week of month 2 the first time around). My suggestion, just do what you can! Take necessary breaks, but always come back into it. And modify any moves you either can't do yet, or hurt. For example, I have had to do push-ups on my knees periodically…
  • I'm having some lower back issues as well, but my back pain started shortly before I began Insanity this time so I know it wasn't from the workout. Anyway, I'm finding that the more muscle I'm building in my core, the better my back is feeling (fingers crossed). I have been icing 1-2 times per day, and taking ibuprofen…
  • Ms. Torgerson, what does one say to the person that motivates them? Seriously, you have to "keep on tryin'" so the rest of us will too! I agree, the food thing is my problem too (especially after Halloween, ouch). You are doing the right things, just keep at it! Take each day as a new opportunity. You are doing awesome!
  • This summer I finished the first two months (then I hurt my foot and had to stop). I loved the program!!! But I didn't lost a pound... however, I did improve my strength a great deal, and it just made me feel stronger, healthier and more confident all the way around. Also, a BIG benefit was that with my increased strength,…
  • Just took the 1st Fit Test last night, and I'm ready for my first workout tonight. I could use some motivation and buddies to keep me accountable. Add me if you can help me out! Thanks
  • My FT7 was recently doing the same thing, I put new batteries in both the watch and the band and it's gotten significantly better. Cost me less than $10 to replace the batteries. I've also heard you need to wash the band regularly, not sure what the best method is for doing that though. I just rinse mine, idk. Good luck!
  • I have a Polar FT7, and I love it! I think they run around $80, not sure if that is in your budget. I recommend looking up the Polar HRMs though, they are easy and accurate. Good luck with C25K - it works!!
  • I've also read that the HRM isn't the most accurate for strength training. Even so, I'm about 185 lbs and only burn approximately 200 calories (according to my HRM) for less than an hour of ST. So 153 calories for 150 lb person isn't really that far off, I don't think. I would go with it for a couple of weeks and see what…
  • 5'8" here too, goal of 160lbs. Early in college I was down around 140 and I was too thin for my frame. Definitely makes a difference what your body shape is, I think. Started this year at 195, down 10 pounds or so and have hit a plateau for over a month. So I've switched some things up, am doing my second month of ChaLean…
  • Glad I came back to read more posts on this thread. Sounds like Lean is where it's at! Looking forward to getting there, and will focus on building my strength through the end of Push. Thanks for all the great feedback everyone!
  • Ditto this! I haven't seen much in terms of pounds or inches, but I LOVE the way it makes me feel. Definitely improved strength and confidence! I'm in the 2nd week of Push and still loving this program.
  • Yes, that would be enough. You saw my calories burned today, I think. That was TF 30... No stretch 10 after. 500+ burned! You can do it too!
  • I agree, keep up with the bands. Then as you get stronger you can adjust the bands for more resistance. Remember, Go Heavy or Go Home! You can do it!!
  • Born and raised in MN, but moved to WI at 18. Viking by birth, Cheesehead by choice!
  • Just finished the Burn phase and I haven't really seen much progress yet. But I do feel the change! I feel much more strong and was impressed with the ease at which I completed last night's workout! Feels great, so I'm hoping to see more physical changes in the weeks to come!
  • Great results! I'm almost to day 30 and was feeling like maybe I won't see the results I want. You have inspired me to keep thinking positive and "Keep on trying!". Thanks!
  • Not exactly sure what your question is - on my calendar, in the book that came with the dvd's, it shows doing each of the Burn workouts once a week for four weeks (with Burn Intervals, Abs and one other one rotated in that same week), then you move into the next phase using the Push dvd's for four weeks, and then the Lean…
  • I'm currently three weeks into ChaLean Extreme and I love it! I've also done TurboJam and TurboFire, I loved both of those too. I particularly like how I can mix/match these dvd's depending on my mood, so I don't get bored.
  • Oh, yes, I hated it for years and never even wanted to be a runner. I don't remember what motivated me to start running, but I did. February 2011 I started the C25K program. It wasn't easy, I often doubted myself, and I didn't enjoy running... until I got past that mental hump around week 8. Since then I've completed seven…
  • Love to see all you doing CLX! I'm in week two and really enjoying it. Still need the motivation to get out of bed so early in the morning, but I feel so good for getting it done when I do. Add me as a friend if you like!
  • I just started Chalean Extreme yesterday. Add me as a friend if you like! I've never done this workout before, but I love Chalean and her other programs, so thought I would give it a try. I will need some motivation too!
  • I am 35 years old and from Wisconsin. Trying to lose about 20 pounds. I just joined MFP about a month ago, and I love it. Add me as a friend and I'll be as supportive as I can! Way to go on the 30 min a day!!
