Hey everyone how you getting on? I'm still not fit enough to get back to Ripped but going to try to do some kind of exercise this weekend. I'm quite jealous of you all moving on and leaving me behind! Grrrr... :)

I haven't heard anyone say they are enjoying week 2. In fact I've read some people sticking with week 1 longer, or moving on to level 3 after just a few days. Must say I just don't like alot of the moves - some seem too easy while others really hard. But if week 2 is putting anyone off exercising then you aren't letting…

Keep it up everyone, those plank moves do get easier. I will be back to it as soon as I can...desperate for his pain to ease enough to exercise again, missing it way more than I thought I would. Shows how much I never want go back to the old, unfit me ever again. :)

Hey there, I am an active member even though I am actually out of action for a few days, so feel free to add me if you like. I started a Ripped in 30 thread for everyone to do during the month of august and plan to do an 'exercise mission' every month to keep our motivation up. Feel free to join everyone on there as we are…

I recently read some research on this subject and it seems that eating late at night, and eating little and often makes no difference to your weight loss efforts. It is all about how many calorie consumed and burned throughout the whole day. What time of day you eat and burn makes no difference. Sometimes helps to think of…

I plateaued for 6 weeks, during the time I started my exercise regime. Realised I wasn't eating enough, so now I eat 1200 cals plus my exercise calories and it has started to move again. Follow what MFP tells you. If you have already told the site that you want to lose 2lbs per week, then it will add your daily exercise…

Well obv you need to find what works for you. Maybe join a monthly group where you check in with others regularly. I started a Ripped in 30 group to do during the month of August, it helps knowing that as I started it I should be encouraging others. I also started a private facebook group where 5 of us who are doing Ripped…

If you have told my fitness pal that you want to lose 2lbs per week and it has given you 1200 calories to eat then this figure is given to use if you are not exercising - your body needs a minimum of 1200 calories for everyday functions even if you're not moving about. So if you exercise, your body needs extra fuel - so…

MFP will tell you to eat 1200 calories plus your exercise calories and I really recommend this. I plateaued for 6 weeks even though I was exercising hard and eating clean as I wasn't eating enough. By eating more the weight is now shifting again.

Hey everyone, great to see so many people joining the group. I'm afraid to say that I am out of action for the moment and had to go to hospital last night with major pain under my ribs. I can hardly move and they say it's muscular, but I don't think it is as it's an ongoing problem. Really hate having time off from it as…

Not in any way qualified to give advice, but personally speaking I have trouble with my knees. I work very hard but I'm aware that certain moves may cause injury, so I either modify the exercise to something easier on the joints, or I do a completely different exercise with elevated arms to get the heart rate up. Don't do…

Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated this post in a coupla days. I've still been working hard up until today when I had to have an unexpected day off. But I will be right back to it tomorrow - Week 2, day 2. I have been doing extra exercise in addition to Ripped, and I also purchased a HRM the other day, so it was interesting…

Ooh 5am...that's dedication! Will defo be worth it though! I'll hold off taking my measurements til the end of Ripped I think. I do feel a real difference in my strength and endurance this week, it's a great feeling. This past week I upped my cals to 1200+exercise cals and I finally see a shift in the scale again after…

Hey guys, Nice to see more people on board. Sorry I didnt update yesterday, I did Ripped quite late. I also did 12 mins of Tracey Mallett's cardio dvd afterwards which is good for feeling the burn. Was going to have a rest day today as my knees are sore, but took a sneaky peak at the scales and they actually appear to be…

As the other posts have shown you have to do what works for you. Think long term, and how exercise fits in with your life. Personally I think it is better to have a rest day, and by the sounds of it you need it. If you think you'll feel guilty, then just promise yourself that you will work extra hard tomorrow, and maybe…

Well done! Day 3 for me and I actually felt great whilst doing it even though my head was bursting beforehand. Love how these dvd's get your fitness levels up so quick! Such a good feeling. :)
-
I did Day 3 today too, and those that are doing the Shred first Id say that's a good plan. I have put on about 5lbs since I started working out again 5 weeks ago, hoping that if I just carry on I will see changes in my body and what the scales say wont matter.

It's a Jillian Michael's dvd. I don't believe it's possible to get ripped in 30 - it obviously depends how much fat you have over the muscles! But I'd say the dvd definitely helps in part of the progression to get there. Ooh couldn't imagine using 10lb weights, wonder how long it will take til I get there. I'm hardly sore…

Hey everyone! Sorry I'm so late in updating my progress, I've been really busy today helping my sis pack up her things to move to London. Had to get 2 buses over there early this morn, so was proud of myself that I didn't use it as an excuse to cop out (ain't doing that no more!), so I got up earlier to exercise. I did Day…

Yeah the running man is tough going, but it's easier knowing that no matter how hard the exercise will change soon, that's what gets me really pushing myself. If you can't do the easier version of the push ups, don't stop, go right up onto your knees and keep going, your strength will still build up til you can do the next…

Oh I had made is secret so we could discuss in private but it was so secret that noone could find it! haha No wonder noone had joined it! It is now open but unless you are a member noone can see the posts - https://www.facebook.com/groups/monthlymission/

Defo not off topic as I think it will really help those reading this thread. I was definitely not in my comfort zone this past month which is why I'm surprised I didn't seen changes, but I think I'm getting to the comfortable stage and need to progress. I have been working out holding the 3lb weights constantly, so I will…

Hey there, glad to see a few more joining. :) I have added everyone as a friend. I did Day 1 today and I must say it was easier than expected. I gave it my all but felt like I wanted the repetitions to go on a bit longer. The cardio I really pushed myself, but again I felt like I could have gone on longer. The 30 Day Shred…

Brill! Yes you will, and I will be right there with you!! :) Does the plan suggest having a rest day? I will see how I feel, but I think I will rest one day each week. I just came across this... http://www.workingouteatingin.com/2011/06/11/ripped-in-30-before-after/ pretty amazing ...enough to encourage us to keep it up…

I haven't lost weight for 5 weeks despite exercising and sticking to my cals. It's frustrating but I'm trying to change my mind set - focusing on my health and fitness and not on the scale. Keep at it and you will get there. :)
-
Will defo get myself some 5lb weights. At the mo some exercises I find tough to finish the reps (but I always do), others it feels like there's little resistance and I could do a hundred more. Oh and will need to look into Bob Harper's workouts Cajunmalakai, not heard much about them. Thanks!
-
Looks like there's a good wee group of us now! :) What hand weights does every use? I have been using 3lbs and although I really feel the burn on some exercises (during the Shred), others not so much. Might be good to get heavier weights to alternate if necessary.
-
Thanks Cajun, must admit it's quite frustrating not really seeing any real body changes after 5 wks of exercise but I figure somethings gotta give some time! But I'm loving feeling fitter, so I'm not giving up the exercise no matter what the scales tell me. Glad to have you on board Mollyandmumu, I'll add you as a friend.…

Well this morning I put on another 1.6lbs despite sticking to my cals and exercising. *Sigh* I gradually upped my cals over the last few days to my BMR of 1500 as, after alot of reading, it seems like I wasn't eating enough staying around the 1200 mark, esp with 30-40 mins exercise most days. So I'm not going to worry…

As I said in my first post, my measurements haven't really changed at all in the last 5 weeks despite exercising most days, but I will keep at it and hopefully see change by the end of August! Thanks! :)
