You've already received great advice for *healthy* foods to add. I would also suggest buying higher fat dairy products (full fat yogurt or cheese). Research indicates that people who consume full fat dairy generally are less fat than people who eat reduced fat dairy.

I really haven't made anything totally off-limits, but I do try to avoid "trigger" foods. I no longer buy chips, and I have seriously cutdown on my baking. I used to bake almost daily (not always sugary baked goods, but still too often). I do bake about once every couple of weeks now, but it's muffins with whole grain,…

I can't relate to having dramatic weight loss, but I really can't wrap my head around how someone telling you that you are an inspiration (meaning, a positive example) means you are somehow responsible for anything on any level. It's simply telling you how you have accomplished something worthwhile and *maybe* with your…

For women, I think it's more about pregnancy than it is marriage.

Also, the alcohol may be way you're are flabby even though at a lower BMI. The wrong kind of foods supposedly causes people to store fat different. Hence why even a very thin person can have a "beer gut" despite their low weight.

I have a glass of wine per week, but I prefer not to drink because it causes me to crave everything in sight. LOL. Seriously, wine improves digestion, so that combined with it being a high glycemic food, it makes sense that it causes someone to overeat. It stimulates hungry by two different ways -- BG "crash" and…

Honestly, your diet getting ruined should be the least of your worries.

I actually won't need to buy any because I have a wardrobe of clothes from sizes 6 to 14. LOL. I was about 125 prior to kids and have had to buy larger sizes each child. Now, I'm in my size 12 clothes. Yah!

There's nothing listed.

Oh, and what kind of cheese are you eating? Maybe you could sub-in reduced fat cheese to free-up a few extras calories for another snack later on in the day.

If I were you, I would seriously consider adding nuts to your diet. Nuts really give you a feeling of fullness that, to me, is unmatched by most other foods.

To address an earlier post -- even diabetics are not told to completely eliminate fruit. Typically they are told to eat small amounts paired with a protein source, and that a piece of fruit is generally a healthier option than some processed starch marketed as "low sugar or "diabetic". It's simply not true that diabetics…

"pre-run dump" ...LOL. That totally made this thread worth reading.

Eggs, yogurt, and nuts get eaten by my family more than any other foods. Well, except my 4 yr old eats a ton of fruit.
-
And actually, most fruits are still pretty low on the glycemic index because of all the fiber in fruit. This is why a person should eat a whole piece of fruit rather than drink a glass of fruit juice.

Yes, it is true that simply sugars are simply sugars regardless of whether it's table sugar or fruit sugar BUT the difference is that fruit sugar comes with lots of natural fiber that helps the body absorb the sugars more slowly and the fruit contains vitamins, nutrients, antioxidants. It is a good source for nutrition,…

I don't wear to bed, but I should, in order to help keep my son from nursing all damn night.

Protein keeps me full. I eat a few nuts several times per day.

I think to optimize you health, eating as much clean, unprocessed food is the key, but weight loss will occur regardless of your source of calories. Personally, short of churning butter and making my own pasta, I have been cooking from scratch for years. If you are over-consuming you can become fat on home cooking.…

Yes, I do. And yeah, orgasms and exercise help, but then I crave foods immediately afterwards. I think most women are aware that these two things help.

Very well written post. ITA.

You lost 6 lbs in 2 days with the flu? You lost water weight and are gaining that back.

Great job!

Oh, and sorry for brining this out of the dead. LOL.

Im trying to find the same information. I absolutely love the Costa Rican Steak salad, and i know it's not healthy, but I'm dying to have it tonight.

Compared to mine, your belly looks great. :)

Oh yes, soup is a great way to cutdown on grocery bills.

I've never noticed a difference. I only notice the difference between no coffee and having coffee before my workout. LOL.

I think eggs and oatmeal are great options for breakfast when dieting on a budget. Also, buy dried beans (instead of canned), and frozen veggies. Canned is more expensive, and contains preservatives. I try to watch for when meat goes on sale at the grocery store and to cut down on portions sizes of meat. Buy wholesale if…
