this is very motivating, thx for posting. I have blood work drawn tomorrow to see how things are going. I was down to 5.9 last time, hoping for at least as well again but scared to death I've become to comfortable with my program. I keep looking at my log and I don't think my numbers have changed much since last quarter…

I agree with this. Because of this group I started testing exactly like this and determined that a creamer I was using in my coffee was really impacting my levels. I didn't drink a lot of coffee and couldn't believe it could be affecting me so adversely but I sipped it all day long and consequently kept my levels elevated.…

Peanut can be a real porker if I don't watch what he eats. I usually feed him a little over a cup of food a day, if his weight goes up than his cup gets leveled out a little more closely until he loses a little and if I start feeling to many ribs than I round it out a little more. I always use to have dogs that I could…

sounds good.

This is exactly what my doctor told me. She said she could give me one but it would be cheaper in the long run to buy the one that used the cheapest strips.

The recumbent stationary bike was introduced to me during therapy so I would think that you could do that. I was also required to move the seat as close as I could so I was bending my knee as much as it would go, believe it or not at first you didn't feel like you could bend it much but as you warm it up it can bend…

This is good advise.

Dido. I watch my carbs first then check to see how my calories are falling into place. I don't go without carb, I just am very picky about which carbs I eat and how many of them I eat and how often I eat them (a bun on a hamburger at a fast food ain't worth waisting carbs on). I will allow myself 1-2 servicing at a meal…

In 2009 I had both knees replaced, one at a time. For exercise at first I just recreated the PT I did. The best thing I did was purchase a recumbent stationary bike and that really helped with my range of movement and strength. I also used the stairs at work too. Both up and down helped me develope strength and stability.…

That is just wonderful. I agree, this site is a wealth of information and support.

I've learned to lock them out of the room until I'm finished. When I open the door they will all be sitting there patiently waiting. If I workout a little to long I will hear this snuffing along the bottom of the door, they are trying to decide if I'm still in there. It actually makes you feel good to be loved so much that…

I will have to try.

Your post could have been written by me just a couple of months ago. I actually thought about changing Drs. because it didn't seem like she had much information to provide me so I really appreciate your posting this. The answers you are receiving are benefiting several of us. Thank you.

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll be sure to look for it. Even though we eat a lot of organic meat (we harvest our own) I don't see any problem with picking up something quick and easy on occasion too. I've even been known to have pepperoni pizza on occasion. Besides, it sounds like from this thread if you dwell to much…

Love to be out camping and come across a herd of elk. So cool to be cuddled in a tent and hear them bugling to each other in the distance.

I take the stairs as many times during the day as I can fit in and if I don't have a reason to use them then I make one up. I work on the top floor of a 7 story building and avoid the elevator unless I'm carrying something heavy.

No doubt. But getting your cravings in control is critical to achieveing the deficit. For me, what works is budgeting a very specific number of carbs at a meal and no refined sugar. Thypically it is sweet potatoes over white, whole wheat pasta, etc. no refined sugar and THEN I watch my calories. But the first and utmost…

Grreat job, you look wonderful. I recently moved to TX and we downsized so we didn't need to move so much. But my squat rack, weights, dumbells and bench were in that truck when it was loaded. Now I'm trying to get the garage so I have a place to set them up, it is killing me not to have them in place Have resorted to body…

Geez, I thought I was nuts but this is one of my main sources of cardio. I'm 60 and had both knees replaced 2 years ago and gained about 30 lbs with each knee so I was looking for a cardio exercise that would get my heart rate up without jumping or running. The steps are what works best for me. I was shocked when I found…

Your pack will be so happy to get their leader back home, hope it isn't to much longer for you. I, personally, have two pugs and I'm "fostering" a boxer. Ebony is a little black female pug, Peanut is a tan boy pug, and Reyna is a brindle boxer. I have Reyna for my daughter but I don't foresee her leaving our pack any time…
