  • I agree, if you weigh yourself everyday it will drive you nuts. Cause then it's always about the number. I weigh myself once a week at the same time every week.

  • I agree, We have lots of local farm stands and the veges are usually more reasonable, also buy food that is in season. Growing your own is a great idea. We always grow tomatoes and our own herbs. Summer squashes are easy to grow, as are cucumbers. Just gotta keep the wild beasts out. We also have blueberries and…
  • Hi Joteacher! My name is Shoshannah aka Boomsmom. Friend me! It really works when you have someone on your side all the time. I know what you mean. I have lots of support at home (family and friends) and they give me lots of it, but sometimes it helps to have it from someone else. MFP has been my rock through this journey…
  • I'm with 55tolose. I did not have a change either and I am tired of the plateau thing. I decided to change things up a little (meaning my workouts, but I just really started the other day). We'll see how that goes. I guess I shouldn't complain at least I'm consistent and not gaining. It is also my ToTM and that too always…
  • Me too! It is really getting frustrating. I have decided to adjust my how much I want to lose a week. I've been playing with the same 1/2 a pound for a little over a month now. Hopefully changing some things up will help. Good luck all!
  • Sorry, better late than never, right? My weight on May 1 was 169. So lets see where we go from there! My goal is 165 right now by 5/31. That is 4 lbs, but I'll take the extra if I can get past my plateau.
  • I do a cleanse about every 6 months or so. I use one by the company Renew Life. It is the 7 day Total Body Rapid Cleanse. I have done it twice and I really like it. You can eat, you just have to follow. Fruits, vegetables, no processed foods, quinoa, brown rice, wild rice, spelt, millet, no yeast, chicken (they recommend…

  • I'm in!! I hit a plateau and I have about 5 lbs to lose to goal (3.2 to be exact) and I just keep staying the same or losing like .2 - .5 ounces and it is really starting to erk me. Maybe this is the motivation I need!! Thanks!!! Good Luck all!!! Let's do this!!!
  • This was taken in March (2011) in St. Lucia. My husband, son and I at my best friends wedding on the beach. It was so beautiful! I felt amazing, I had reached my goal of losing 40 pounds the week before we left to go. I was so proud of myself. :flowerforyou:
  • Absolutely!!! MFP is amazing! As are the friends I have made here. The support and genuine feeling of mutual respect and "love" are what keeps me going day after day. I miss MFP when I can't go on, even if I just go on to see how everyone is doing. I don't always have the time to comment on everyone, but I do try and I am…
  • You are not alone. It has been a really tough week for me. Passover is a really hard Holiday for me with food. I love it all and it is all made with butter, eggs, matzo, chocolate, and then fruit and vegetables. I am at a plateau and wish I could get past it, but.... All you can do is try your best and know that tomorrow…
  • Iceskatefanrn said it greatly!! Change it now, don't give up on today. I have taught chair aerobics to seniors as well as individuals in wheelchairs. There are lots of workout out there. Also some deep breathing as well. I totally get where you are coming from. I just ended my TOM and during it I just wanted to eat…
  • I too have a little pooch. It is directly over my c-section scare from when I had my son. I continue trying to at least shrink it and it has shrunk a lot, but I think it will always be there a little unless I have surgery and I'm not doing that. So I just keep trying. Good luck and if you find any secret solutions, anyone,…
  • Too Funny! Thanks for the Laugh!!! Sometimes the best logic occurs to us when we have partaken of deep soul searching libations!!!
  • Hi there! I am 5'8" and currently at 170 lbs. My goal right now is to get to 160 - 165 lbs. I like onawho have been down to 145/150, but did not look healthy at all. I'm a big girl, I think I would fall over if I got to skinny, if you know what I mean. ;) My husband is happy where I am and I just want to get down a few…
  • Thanks! I needed this thread too. I've been needing some extra motivation. Seeing all the success and posting my pics helped, so thanks again! I am 5'8", but all successes are big successes. I'm at 170.4 right now and have another 5 or so to go before I am good with my overall loss. Keep it up MFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disney May…
  • I've done the 7 day cleanse that they sell there by Renew Life. I've done it 2 times (Last July and this past February). It works for me and it is a good jump start. I try and do a cleanse every 6 or so months. I was a little stalled in my wieght loss so it got me back on track. It is best if you try and follow the diet…
  • I'm a Music Therapist and a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and work with children and adults with developmental disabilities. And a mom to a 4 year old.
  • I'm like Kellybear, I put them on all kinds of things (bread flats with some turkey breast or chicken, crackers, bagels, eggs, pretzels, baked nacho chips, cherry tomatoes, etc.) and even just eat them by themselves for a snack. They are yummy! My 4 year old loves them too. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy!!!!!!!!

  • I'm in! I'm alwYs looking for more support myself. That's what helps me through this too! We All have those rough days and my MFP friends are the best.
  • I have that too! Why, I don't know. It is only on one side sometimes though, it's wierd, I agree. Hopefully someone will answer your post that will know. (My son was born almost 4 years ago - he'll be 4 this Friday, but I had a c-section). I think it happened before I was even pregnant. It doesn't hurt though, at times it…
  • Hi There Caper88! Yes and Yes! As per Jackie Warner. She says it "will activate the burning off of stored fat in your body" Why you mays ask? She says it is a bile thinner, thinner bile means a better job of processing fat. I have also fouund that it helps to prevent cravings as well. Sipping water fills your stomach. And…
  • Hi Nicole, I agree with sblowes, from what I see you are not eating enough calories. It's not about eating under your calories. You need to eat at least your minimum. If its 1200, than you need to really try and eat that many. If you need a little more, your exersice can supplement that. You should not be afraid to eat.…
  • Hi! MFP has been great for and my accountability. I am 3 pounds away from 35 and then I will make a new goal, another 10 (for a total of 45). I have found that making little goals is easier than looking at the huge number. Although I eat and try to eat well, I do slip up sometimes and forgive myself and move on. I've been…
  • Absolutely! My husband is amazing! He is always giving me compliments! Now I just got to get him on board too!
  • We all have those kind of days. Keep your head up. Believe in yourself! This is the best place to be. Just when I'm feeling bad, i go on and see all the support I have. It's amazing! I'll friend you. You can do this, shake off today and look to tomorrow. Make better choices, some need to make the changes little by little.…
  • You are welcome! It will come. Yes you are supposed to eat as close to your calories as possible. I think also that if you are breastfeeding that that burns calories as well so you could increase a little. If you do not eat all of your calories, your body goes into starvation mode and that is not good it starts to…
  • Hi Maria, Welcome!! Look at your foods. Pay attention to sodium intake and fat intake as well. Also are you drinking your water. That is really one of the biggest keys. Drink water!! Not sodas or juices. Water with lemon juice is what I drink and have from the start. Of course I have my coffee everyday too, can't live…
