At a certain age, women look better with shorter hair, maybe not pixie short, but definitely not bum length.
-
Me too, eh. Canadian.
-
Sure, count me in.

Is it a stereotype if it is true. I don't ever want to be mistaken for someone from the US.
-
Please don't try it. When you speak they will know you are not Canadian and wonder why you are lying to them.
-
^^ This is why they will know you are from the United States. And why they will think you are a boor. You wear what is expected out of respect for other people's culture, traditions, and beliefs.

It took me almost two years to get to a synthroid level I could live with. After 16 years i still don't feel "right", but with a dose of .2mg (or 4 times your 50ug) I feel better. I had my throid removed 6 months ago and feel better after that. All the feeling crappy is depressing and many hypothyroid patients end up on…

I think an old fart can be any age at all. It is an attitude not an age. Old farts don't want to do anything, won't go for lunch, won't join in any reindeer games, have no sense of humour, and are surrounded by other old farts.

I joined the local club for Canadian Federation of University Women (there is a similar American group if you live there). A great bunch of women with book groups, walking clubs, spirituality, golf, genealogy, etc. interest groups. I tried the "moms" group for my son's hockey league and found them a little too interested…

I was beginning to be concerned when people were saying there were 28 tbsp in a cup and 3.5 in a quarter cup. The conversions quoted above are the correct ones. Even if you don't know from school (ie not old enough to be taught miles, yards, rods, pecks, bushels, quarts, gallons, etc) a simple google search will tell you.…

The stick thin woman who works for me is always saying "have one they're so good". I know her intentions are good, but my willpower is limited :drinker:

Also a Leafs fan, and I am old enough to have seen them win a few Cups!!!!!

Got you beat. I am a Toronto fan and have had to deal with 40 years of woefulness :)

It sounds counterproductive, but try eating more :)

Just get it cut off. Much easier and on most people it looks better.

Go to whomever will listen to you. My family dr is better. She sent me to two different endocrinologists. One i walked out on because he would not listen to me. Kept saying there was nothing wrong as my number were all within range. Never mind i felt like crap. The second did not listen to what i was saying either. She…

Check out the thyroid threads. I am also hypothyroid for 16 years and they took my thyroid out last year. It makes it difficult but not impossible. Track regularly on here and you will be good.
-
keep at it. you are doing great. I bet you feel much better.
-
YES YES Exactly my situation. I walked out on one endocrinologist in the middle of his lecture on how it was not my thyroid that was my problem as I had "normal" readings. I sat through another lecture by a second endo and never went back. Most of them are diabetes specialists anyway as there is more money in that. Their…

I have been on synthroid for 16 years and recently had my thyroid removed (cancer). In many of your posts you state "my dr. keeps me slightly hypothyroid". Why would any doctor keep you hypothyroid? It took me almost 3 years to get to the 175 mgr synthroid where i felt sort-of normal. For me, being hypo is terrible, no…
