  • Great job!!! Keep it up!!!
  • Hello everyone:smile: I ate at CUT for 9 weeks and decided it was time for a "diet break", so now I'm here and just wanted to update everyone on my progress through my "mini" reset. I started 3 weeks ago eating at TDEE. I weigh myself daily, but only log my weight on MFP on Wednesdays, so here are my last 3 "official"…
  • So your TDEE is 1900-2200, depending on the day? So you're at about a 15% cut, which is perfect :) How do you calculate your TDEE? A Fitbit or BMF? What I can recommend is this... Take a break and eat at you TDEE for a few weeks. If you've been eating at your cut for an extended period of time, your body may be thinking it…
  • Took a diet break starting on the 4th of July because we went on vacation that next week. Almost 3 weeks later, and I'm still eating at TDEE, LOL! I just really like eating this many calories!!! I also had a loss while on vacation, so thought I'd stick with eating TDEE just to see whether or not I needed to up my calories.…
  • Welcome to the group! Feel free to add me...I'm currently eating at my TDEE for a few weeks before going back to cut.
  • I think we're twins...LOL! I just came off vacation and took about two weeks of from formal exercise and ate at TDEE, and lost, like, 3 pounds once I weighed in after vacation!?!?!? I'm back exercising, so I've been bouncing around a couple of pounds (the whole glycogen thing), but am still down from before I went on…
  • I'm bumping this because there have been some people looking around the message boards for some success storys from people who went right into the cut instead of doing a reset...hopefully this can help others who are doubting the process at the moment! :flowerforyou:
  • Feel free to add me--I'm always open to having more friends that eat, well, MORE!!!
  • ^^^^^ This. Sheer awesomeness!
  • I started "officially" eating more 11 weeks ago. I was doing the 1200 calorie MFP suggestion for about 2 1/2 months prior to that. I gradually upp'd my calories over a period of about 3-4 weeks until I got to my cut (I went to TDEE-15%) of 1770 calories. I've lost 7 pounds since I started my cut, as well as 2 1/4 inches…
  • Niiice...hahaha, you are too funny! What'd you hold that for, 5 minutes? LOL! :glasses:
  • First off, Congrats on getting clean and staying there...that is a tremendous accomplishment! :flowerforyou: Also, I'm glad to hear that your parents are doing well and in remission! Weight loss is a journey and a tough one to take!!! I'd like to recommend to you the Eat More To Weigh Less group here on MFP. If you haven't…
  • That looks like so much more than 30 pounds down!!! You are looking great, Mike...Congrats!!! :flowerforyou: :drinker:
  • I do not technically lift heavy as of yet, and have seen results since starting EMTWL...I don't think lifting heavy is a requirement, you just have to make sure you selected the correct activity level...and I agree with the other posters that consistancy is key. Stick with it, and you will see results!!! Good luck!!!
  • Feel free to add me , and welcome!
  • Age: 30 Height: 5'5" Weight: 155.9 lbs Daily calorie goal: 1,770 Average weekly loss: 1.14 lbs/wk Starting weight: 185.6 lbs Exercise of choice: HIIT on the elliptical, yoga, kettlebells, hoping to get into some heavy lifting with Cathe soon :)
  • Sounds like you got it! You go by TOTAL cals, unless your NET drops below BMR due to exercise. There is a post around here somewhere regarding when you know you're body is ready to finally "cut" when doing a reset, because it can be longer or shorter than the 8 weeks, depending on the person...let me see if I can find…
  • Soooooo not true! If anything, you're still not eating ENOUGH with those crazy burns you have!!! Check out the Eat more to weigh less group here on MFP...you should at least be netting your BMR, which is basically the minimum your body needs to function organs, etc...
  • Maybe try cutting out that Wednesday workout altogether??? I know a lot of people here do 3 days of strength training and 2 days of cardio...with 2 rest days per week. I personally only work out 4-5 days a week for about 30-45 min on average, and usually at least one of those days is a yoga day, so not a very high…
  • So many things have motivated me to lose weight...here are a couple of them. They may be vain, or weird, or whatever, but here they are... 1) My children--both of my children were large at birth, and since they were born, I've always had this nagging voice in my head saying "teach them healthy eating habits, or they'll…
  • That is AWESOME!!!:glasses:

  • Pretty much...mine is more like 9PM to 9AM... It's basically one of the IF methods that she discusses in the article...:drinker:
  • Read this little article a while back about the whole IF thing...it is by THE Nia Shanks...it talks about the 3 different types of IF and why certain types work for certain people... http://www.niashanks.com/2011/08/three-methods-of-intermittent-fasting/ If you haven't already checked this one out...:ohwell: I am NO expert…
  • Don't be so hard on yourself! If your BMF says your TDEE is around 2200, then a 15% cut on that is 1870 cals...1700 is over a 20% cut, which isn't really recommended...most believe in doing 15% or less for cut. I think your 1950 (11% cut) would be a good start, and you should see a steady loss over time, even with a…
  • Welcome to the group! :flowerforyou: Feel free to add me if you like. I'm currently eating at maintainance (2055 cals) and so far am LOVING the extra food!
  • ^^^^That made me laugh out loud, Hahaha!!! Uh, that totally came out wrong, LMAO! But really, feel free to add me, LOL!
  • Okay, so I'm a little late to the party, but after 9 weeks at cut (with decent results, I might add!) I thought it might be time for a little spurt of eating at TDEE...I'm going to go at least 2 weeks, but might go the full 8...not really sure yet. Just don't want my body to think my cut is my TDEE, so that's where I'm…
  • I would eat as normal throughout the day, that way you won't be SO hungry when you get to the game that you want to eat everything in sight, LOL! Have a meal (brat and fries, or whatever you fancy!), and maybe a snack (split it with someone if you'd like!)...don't know if you like to drink or not, but if you feel like it,…
