I'm not cheating again! About 3 weeks ago, I had a piece of cake with cream cheese frosting from Whole Foods. I think some people who don't eat plant based try to sabotage your eating style. Anyway, I got shingles; not real severe (thank God). I swear the cheese & sugar started the shingles. I'm better now, but no more SAD…

I live in Buda, TX and I'm the assistant weight recorder this year. I've held every position except co-leader and leader, so that's what is next! I'm a KOP now. What really helped me was eating a Plant Based Diet. After watching the movie Forks over Knives, I gave up meat, fish, diary, and processed food. In the last Tops…

I'm going to have rye bread with sauerkraut and thousand island dressing. Kind of boring, I know. :drinker:

Check out John A. McDougal's website. It seems like men are doing better at loser weight on the McDougal diet because he is starch based.

I've been doing the same thing. We just got Netflix again and I've been watching all the "vegan" movies I can find. Dr. Gerson was a doctor back in the 30's and 40's and he claimed he cured people who had cancer. Their diet was vegan, organic veggies, etc. It was very interesting.

I like that! That's a good one!

We don't have Aldi's in Central Texas. I wish we did!

Kale is high in protein. I have heard this a couple of times, but haven't looked it up. 1/2 cup of beans is about all you need according to some doctors and shouldn't be too gassy.

That looks sooo good. It's hard to be vegan when you are the only one in the family! But, I still try. I could use some more friends also. :flowerforyou:

Try Triscuits. I think it's the crunch factor that will satisfy you.

For some people, coffee will increase your cholesterol. In the movie, "Forks over Knives" Dr. E says that coffee harms the inside of our arteries.

I am from Wisconsin also. But have been living in Central Texas for 25 years.

Thanks for the recipe. They look good!

I started the 21 Day Vegan Kickstart this year. In the beginning, some days were not that good because there were foods in the house to use up. But, every day that passes, I'm getting better at sticking to a vegan diet!

Hi, my name is Joanne and I have started to eat a Plant Based Diet also after reading Eat to Live and watching Forks over Knives. I need to lower my cholestereol and I don't want to take any medications because I always have had side effects when taking them. I wish all of you good luck on reaching your goals!
