I do my own nails and have never had a manicure or pedicure. I get free massages. :) We barter for stuff and that saves a lot of money too. We have re-roofed our house ourselves, built a spa room, a sunroom, huge porch, garage, pool deck, other decks, grow just about all of our vegetables and fruits in the summer and…

We probably make it a million different ways, but our favorite is by grilling it and basting it with a reduction made from minced garlic, fresh squeezed orange juice and maple syrup. It sounds odd, but it's delicious. We almost always have it with brown rice and a veggies mix of red/yellow/orange bell peppers with sweet…

If you meant my mention of ewww, I was thinking of my own body. I've lost a lot of weight and yeah, I look awesome in size 8 jeans but without them, yuck! I apologize if I offended anyone. I'm a recovered anorexic/bulimic and I'll never have a good body image of myself. And yeah, we should love our bodies no matter what,…

I love bread, but to cut the calories in it, I use Healthy Life whole wheat or Healthy Life white bread. 35 calories per slice and it actually tastes good. 70 cals for 2 slices vs 120 for ONE slice of reg bread.

To me it would be someone who looks good fully clothed, or is in their perfect 'weight range', but is very flabby with no muscle definition when naked. Yuck!

This is what I've been doing for a few weeks and I'm already up .6mph. I also walk 30 minutes after my run and walk outside on my 'rest' days to build ankle/calf strength plus lifting 3x week. Good luck!

The first thing I did was to start ordering water whenever I eat out. I've done it so much now that it's a habit and I don't even think twice about it. Also, I know some people fear it, but I started drinking diet, generic koolaid instead. It tastes good, has no calories (or very few) and now when I drink soda, the…

You can change that. I'm 51 and can run 8 miles now, when a year ago, I was out of breath if I walked 20 feet. Fit in some exercise. Do it daily. Move more. Walk. Use the stairs. Park at the end of parking lots. Keep healthy food in the house and throw out the bad stuff. Limit sodium. Go to your Dr. for a checkup to make…

Don't say anything at all. As much as we want them to be healthy too, no one can make them do it, just like no one could force us when we were fat. I think she will have to hit rock bottom on her own, like most of us do. But who knows? Maybe you can help in other ways to encourage her. Most of all, don't nag her and don't…

I wear my hrm and burn over 300 cals while lifting, so yeah, I def. log them.

Overeating and undereating is mental. For me anyway, I couldn't lose weight until I removed toxic people from my life. Face your fears and what's eating you (pun intended), then you can move forward.

I don't have time to read all the posts, so I apologize if this is a repeat. Refrigerator oatmeal - skinnytaste.com

One meal won't sabotage a lifestyle.

I think you eliminated too much stuff at once. Don't 'diet' or you'll feel deprived and give in. Eat whatever you want, but stay under your cals for the day and log everything. Pay attention to the calories in the food you eat, then gradually, one at a time, make changes in your diet as you exercise and you'll still lose…

Whirlpool jets are better... that is all. lol

Don't worry about it. You're lifting weights...

Omg you look amazing! You don't even look like the same person and you look 20 years younger! Congratulations!

I'd see a Dr. first! Asthma is nothing to mess around with. We just lost a little 8 year old girl to it here, yesterday. :( Anyway, see a Dr., if it's that bad, it is NOT controlled. If you do get the ok to run, what works for me is to use my inhaler and make sure I wash my face before I run, since dust and pollen bothers…

Hello there and good luck. I have plenty of pals, but I'd love to have some closer to my age also. I'm 51. ETA: If you add me, please say you're from the 50+ club so I know who you are! Thanks!

hotlfashes! ugh..

Yayy! You'll remember this day the rest of your life! Congratulations!

I was on that and lost 40lbs from Jan to May 2012, so I'd say, nope, you won't gain. :) Oops, I forgot this, after the 40lb loss I was able to go off it! My blood pressure slowly started to go down and it made me super tired, nauseous and eventually I couldn't walk without getting out of breath. My Dr. said I could stop…

I have 3 pairs. One really good pair of Brooks for running on the treadmill and hard pavement, one for packed soil and grass trails and another for muddier trails. I also wear custom orthotics in all 3.

I don't know what kind of Dr. you see, but mine had to put me on a blood pressure medication, not a supplement. There is a difference. Also, you may have an inherited type of high blood pressure that ONLY meds can control. That was the case with me. I ALWAYS had normal blood pressure, then out of the blue it was sky high.…

See a Dr.!! Any time your blood pressure is too high, it is doing irreversable damage to your blood vessels and internal organs. Please don't wait and cut wayy back on your sodium at least until you see a Dr.

Not an electric floor scrubber... I got that once. lol

Yep, my husband has to work that day.

I'm so glad I read this. Now I know that I don't have to log my vaseline! But seriously, there is no dumb question, only questions that are not asked! That's how you learn. :flowerforyou:

Don't give up! Ever. If you have a problem with ANYTHING, search the forums or internet for solutions. I've had a LOT of problems since I started back in Jan '12 and I've overcome them all. From little things like athlete's foot, chafing, muscle aches to broken bones & food issues. You can do this!

Oh dear Lord, you're right, that is a LOT of soda. I doubt that it would keep you from losing weight since it's 'mostly calories in/calories out that works... but it does suck the calcium out of your bones, ruins your teeth and has sodium in it. You need an intervention! But, that's just my opinion. Maybe you can just cut…
