  • I too am restarting after some health issues. You can do this! It is easier if you do it in steps though. If you don't mind, I'll tell you what worked for me. First, you have to WANT to be healthier, despite your cravings and desire to not work out. So, the first 'thing' I did was to tell myself that I was going to walk 30…
  • We are camping on the beach in April, so YES I'm working on it now!
  • I lost a lot of mine, but I still think I look better! If they 'deflate', try using a good push up bra, they work wonders. :)
  • She needs to see a Dr asap! I went to aerobics class one night and my hr went up to 190-200 and took forever to drop back to normal. The instructor actually made me drop the class until I saw a Dr. I blew it off because I felt FINE when it was that high, it was just a little scary. I was also at a very healthy weight,…
  • Recovered anorexic/bulimic here. Congrats on working towards getting healthy! I think that you need to eat breakfast, something packed with protein, so you don't crave so much later in the evening. To make things more convenient, prepare your breakfast the night before. If I don't, I usually don't eat it either! Try…
  • I'm that way too, especially after a good , sweaty workout. It usually happens right after my cool/down and shower and then I literally freeze for a few hours. It's especially worse in winter. I just assume it's from all the sweating and my body's effort from trying to cool me down, but it sure lasts a long time! I just…
  • First of all, I feel your pain. When I was anorexic (yep, anorexic), I had a husband who was on a strict low cholesterol diet, and had 2 little girls who were picky eaters and would only eat certain foods. I knew I needed to add calorie dense foods to my kids' diets and I didn't want 'bad stuff' in the house, that I'd be…
  • My husband 'kinda' bothers me when I go out for runs too. He walks slow and I like to jog...so I jog ahead of him, turn around and run back to him, then I'm off again. Or, he walks a figure 8 pattern around a trail we use and we high 5 when we pass each other. lol You see, he has a terminal lung disease and an injured…
  • We just have a Ninja. It came with a bigger, pitcher-like container and a smaller food processor accessory. Mainly we use it to make smoothies with any frozen fruit, greek yogurt, almond milk, whatever. If you have any left over fruit, especially bananas, don't throw them out, peel and toss in the freezer. Then you can…
  • I see that you're 18 and I don't know your financial situation, but If you can buy some healthier stuff, go get it. Perhaps you can cook a meal of your choice for the family? If not, try to eat within your calorie goal to not gain weight. Drink a lot of water to help flush the sodium that's in that stuff. I know that if I…
  • Just a warning... if you loose weight, you might loose your pants. Buy a belt and make sure it's not lose, loose or loos, or you'll loose it too. Aint nobody got time for dat.
  • You look amazing! Congrats on having your hard work pay off. Good job!
  • I've never used it but I have several friends who have. Personally, I think it's a waste of money and a sales pitch. Skip the 'point' system and just log food on here. This worked for me: Log your food. All of it, for 2 weeks. Look at what you're eating. Cut back to the amount of calories that MFP says you should be…
  • You don't find it or buy it. You make it... It's in there somewhere. Although I was pretty happy when I took that trip to Maui. LOL
  • This is a bunch of random stuff, but here goes. Don't estimate anything. Move more. Eat healthier, fewer processed foods, if you eat that stuff now. One thing that works for me is to eat whatever I want on Friday night and the rest of the week I am very strict with my calories. They may, rarely, like this week, include an…
  • 6lbs this month. Normally 4-8.
  • I weigh myself daily, but only log a loss after it's stayed that way 3-4 days. Otherwise, I log every Friday, gain or loss. That keeps me accountable to myself.
  • A chocolate chip cookie bar smothered in almond butter. Why? because I could. :)
  • Weigh your food so you know how many calories are in it. Quit eating so many processed foods. Get rid of the jelly beans, tons of sugar, sliced/processed cheese, chex mix, etc. You are probably hungry because all you are eating are empty carbs that your body processed too quickly. You've really had 20 cups of liquid…
  • I'm sorry! Been there and it's painful! Well, now you not what not to do! I always walk briskly 5 minutes, stretch 5 minutes, walk briskly 5 minutes, run and then repeat the brisk walk, stretch, slower walk and if I have time, I stretch again. I rarely get sore unless I run on hills now, so I'm being careful until I get…
  • Sure you can, but you might feel like you're starving all the time! Here is an example of what I used to eat, compared to what I eat now, with about the same calories for each meal. Breakfast - A bowl of sugar sweetened, out of a box cereal with skim milk. Now. Steel cut oats, made with almond milk and 1/2 cup fresh fruit.…
  • Unless you're anorexic or have other health issues, I don't think it's anyone else's business. I weigh mine and I don't care who sees me. I'm doing this for my health!
  • One 8 oz cup equals 1 glass. Not sure how many ml, and I'm too lazy to find out. sorry. lol The 8 - 8 oz cups can include ANY liquids, in food, soup, etc., not just water.
  • Oh my, you sound just like me! Although I do not suffer from depression, I cannot dance, I cannot follow routines in exercise classes, especially fast ones! I've never been able to either! It's embarrassing, stressful and I hate it. So.. I do other stuff, mostly alone. Not that I don't like being with other people, I just…
  • Another thing to watch for is the sodium content of so called 'healthy' meals. Some of the 550 or less calorie meals at Applebees (or anywhere else), have over 3,000mg of sodium, for ONE meal. With high blood pressure, I'm not supposed to have more than 1200... that sucks. What I don't get is WHY they add that much…
  • I actually weighed 96lbs in high school. I wasn't anorexic, just tiny. I am 5ft 3, now weigh 161 and have 31lbs to go after getting up to 179. There was no way I was going to hit 180! That was my wake-up call.
  • What is it that is making you so miserable? Pain? Out of breath? Boredom? Try to figure out just what it is, then go from there. I had to switch to trail running to make it more enjoyable. When I do that, I have to watch where I'm going to take my next step, so time really flies, plus the scenery is amazing. Music helps..…
  • For me, it's usually around $110.00, but I have a friend who gets fitted, then asks for last year's model for that type of shoe. She usually gets them for $80.00 - $90.00.
  • That list wouldn't do it for me. No peppers or tomatoes? I probably wouldn't eat half of what's on it! I suppose if you'd eat all of those things, it would be worth it. I grow all of my own veggies and it's a LOT of work, so if you can't grow your own, go for it, or at least split a box with another family to try it out…
  • Yeah, I went backwards and gained... a lot. It didn't work for me. Too bad, since I LOVE FOOD. I had to change up my workout, do it longer and eat healthier food. I kept my cals about the same.
