  • Definitely try water jogging!!! My injuries have been nothing compared to yours, but getting in the pool helped a lot and at times was the only way I could exercise. They even have little arm rings (not swimmies!) that you can wear if you need to. I don't have to but it does help with balance when I'm 'running' hard. I…
  • I loveeeee them in overnight oats made with greek yogurt, fruit, etc. :)
  • I walked 2-4 miles a day and lost about 38lbs in 4 months and kept it off for over a year. I have since gained most of it back due to prednisone and health issues, but I'm back at it again. Basically, you just have to do what everyone else does to lose weight. Eat fewer calories, eat better food and move more. Sounds easy…
  • Have you seen a podiatrist? Orthotics fit in good running shoes (or any shoes that the insole can be removed from), and make a big difference. I could hardly get out of bed without being in agony until I got them. Also, they can show you how to stretch before getting out of bed to minimize pain upon standing. I rarely have…
  • You joined mfp in March 2014, you've lost 5 pounds of out 8 and you think you're not losing? 5 pounds is a lot to lose in one month. Take your time, eat the calories you should be eating.
  • I just noticed that this was from last year in May. haha
  • Maybe she likes you more than she wants to and doesn't want to have an affair. Maybe her husband noticed she was spending too much time with you, so she's backing off? I dont know... ask her. Do her a favor and let her go.
  • Breakfast 2 cups coffee with 2T sugar free creamer 30 cals. Plus one of these: Whole grain oats, either old fashioned or steel cut. 1/2 cup uncooked, plus 1/2 cup frozen berries that I thaw and mash, then add the cooked oatmeal to 2 whole egg, 1 white egg omelet, sometimes with bacon, always with tons of peppers, onions,…
  • Yep, this. I learned about it paramedic/nursing school, although it is more common in children, than adults. Drinking gallons is a bit excessive and I don't even understand why you would.
  • Although I hate taking pills, they haven't bothered me at all and have controlled my blood pressure perfectly. When I lost weight I had to go on a lower does though. You'll know when that happens! You get nauseous, weak and feel like you cant even walk. If that happens, call your Dr. asap! I look at them as saving my life…
  • 52 here and I could use some motivation myself!
  • If it's just coming on, try some Cold Eez! It has worked for me the last 3 times I used it, limiting my cold to a slight sore throat and some tiredness. I was sooo happy to not get the nasty runny nose, sneezing and other stuff with it. As for working out, cardio definitely will open up your sinuses. You may not feel the…
  • I 'hate' water too, unless I'm in the middle of a 600 calorie burning workout. Now, I have some medical issues (too much calcium, mostly) and have been ordered to drink a lot of water. Ugh. I tried some sobe happy berry?/pomegranate water and was curious as to what happy berries were, haha, and looked at the label. Come to…
  • Thanks for all of the great ideas. I'm definitely going to grow them, use the greens and maybe even pickle some. :)
  • I have a good pair of Nike running shorts I bought at ****'s sporting goods and love them. Even when I had thunder thighs, I had no chafing. They tie too, so no matter what size I am, I can keep them from falling off. lol I also love Under Armour. I've used the knock-off types and I get too hot in them and they don't feel…
  • Good for you! You are proof that it CAN be done, it just takes MORE work. Not that the surgery isn't hard, it's just harder to finally be accountable to yourse I come from a big family, literally. My older sister had the surgery and then suffered 3 strokes and is now permanently disabled, but thin. I was kind of jealous…
  • Stress and health issues are hard. Period. Ive been through the same, lost about 40lbs and gained 20+ back after being on evil prednisone, breaking my foot and then eating everything in sight. 3 weeks ago I tore a calf muscle and wasn't even able to walk for 2 weeks, AND I was on vacation. I stuck with eating grilled foods…
  • I certainly don't miss mine or the pain. I had it taken out and had no problems except for having to run to the bathroom after eating any type of big meal or even drinking a big glass of water. I couldn't even eat dinner out, for fear that I wouldn't make it to a bathroom before I got home! I was miserable. All of that…
  • When I take the time, I prefer steel cut oats because they keep me full longer than the instant stuff. For convenience, I use Quaker Oats weight control, maple and brown sugar. It has more oats and less sugar than the other varieties, and the medium setting on my Keurig dispenses the exact amount of hot water it takes.…

  • 2012 Ford Explorer and a 2014 Ford 250? (haha, I don't know what it's called) diesel 4 x 4 truck. We obviously are not city dwellers. :)
  • Yes, I am married and very happily so! It wasn't my husband. Most of us have more than one relationship in our lifetime. :)
  • wrong spot, sorry lol
  • If your calorie intake is what you say and you really exercise everyday, you shouldn't need the phentermine to lose weight. I'd try going off it and see if I could still control what I eat. Maybe eat more protein to stay full and drink more water if you feel hungry. Drugs, fads, 'diets', etc. are all temporary solutions to…
  • I disagree 100%. When I was anorexic, I lost about 3/4 lb per week. When I learned how to eat right and exercise (sometimes crazy exercise), I lost 2 or more lbs per week. Now that I tore my calf muscle and cant exercise at all for 2 weeks, I have to stick with 1200 calories. I'll let you know how that turns out.
  • Yeah that was dumb of them. I don't trust a government who approves of feeding PINK hamburger to our school children! Along with nuggets made of anything.. I'm also frustrated and going through the same thing, only I'm already on blood pressure meds. My cholesterol was 240 and has ALWAYS been 165 or lower, total. My Dr.…
  • It happens to me too, but just in my left foot, and it's been going on for over 2 years, only when I run. I think as long as you're not having pain, you should be fine. If it bothers you, or doesn't go away, ask your Dr.
  • IMO, all a 24 hour water fast will do is give your body 24 hours to poop, pee and sweat some of the waste, as in 'stuff our body has processed, doesn't need and has to get rid of", you have stored. As soon as you start eating again, your intestines will refill with waste and no fat will be gone. Eat healthy. Move more.…
