The only thing that worked for me was when I finally decided that I had to do 'something'. Then I told myself that I was going to walk just 15 minutes a day. That was it, nothing more, nothing less. After 2 weeks I noticed changes in my legs and was motivated to walk longer, faster, etc. Then I started logging food, saw…

Absolutely YES! I started out walking 15 minutes a day at 2mph. I still only walk @2.5 and I've lost 40lbs. My former name on here was NOIJUSTLOOK PREGNANT, so that should tell you something! My belly was huge and I've lost over 8 inches off it. After losing a bunch of fat, I was able to do new things, like jog, bike, etc.…

Keep eating them, but gradually add them into your diet instead of all at once. I take Beano and it helps a LOT but it is a bit expensive. I searched online and found a cheaper version of the same stuff at GNC, but I haven't tried it yet. Eventually your body gets used to the extra fiber. Don't give up! Veggie are good for…

I just eat them if I'm hungry!

I got into running after I walked nearly 1,000 miles and needed a challenge. I also knew that runners aren't fat! C25K worked for me, I jogged as slow as I could and it worked perfectly. Now I'm working on 5k to 10k, can jog 5 miles easily and have learned to love it. I use a treadmill in the winter since I'm in IL. If you…

My butt. It's super toned and has curves, not fat curves, muscle.

As soon as I got below 150lbs, I could sit on the toilet lid without having it cave in. :)

Have chicken fajitas and skip the tortillas. :)

Congrats on starting c25k! You're awesome. Don't run. Jog as slow as you can until you can complete the week without being completely out of breath. I did it that way and now I can jog over 5 miles without breathing heavily. I never jogged before and im 51, so you can def. do this. Also, about the leg pains..what really…

All of them

I've caught the running bug too and could use some more running pals. :)

Take some! I regret not having pics of me at my heaviest. We all know why we don't have one, we HIDE from cameras. However, you can take one privately and keep it for yourself for motivation. Later, after all of your amazing, hard work, you can post after pics! I still keep my fat pic nearby and look at it once in a while,…

Use a teaspoon of butter @30 cals. instead of a tablespoon @ 100 cals. To me, it's worth the cals.

I don't fear weights but I do fear injury.. I have had major rotator cuff surgery, torn calf muscles, broken foot, broken toes and back issues. So I plan on sticking with weight machines so I have more control while lifting. Ironically, most of those injuries happened because of weight lifting/exercising. Be kind to your…

Start walking. Today! Just get up and walk for 15 minutes at a pace you'd enjoy. You can add time and speed later. You can do this! I have fibro, amongst other things and have gradually worked up to jogging, after losing 40lbs. I'm 51 years old and never thought I could get back into shape.

I'm so sorry you have these. I've had them for years and eventually 'learned' how to wake myself up. I honestly don't even know how I can do it, but I know that if I'm in the middle of a nightmare and I tell myself to open my eyes, I wake up, realize it was a nightmare, then go back to sleep. It's kind of creepy waking up…

First of all, you definately need more calories to be healthy, so just make yourself eat more. As far as everyone bashing you for having a hard time eating more, well,, maybe they didn't experience it, so ignore them. When I started this, I started eating healthier food and didn't get the carb rush/starving 30 minutes…

I've lost 40lbs while drinking 2 cups a day, with sugar-free creamer and Splenda. I don't think it has hurt my progress and I NEED the extra kick I get from caffeine in the morning.

When you run, land with your foot hitting the BALL of your foot, not the heel. Don't run on a hard surface if possible. Stretch. Don't jump into it right away. Try C25K if you haven't. I used it after not being able to run for 50 years, YES, 50 YEARS, and was able to do it without shin splints or side stitches! Yay. I…

I don't know if this will help or not, but it did me. Instead of saying you're 'trying to stay this time', say YOU ARE STAYING ON TRACK THIS TIME. It's all mental. You either want it bad enough to do it, or you're not ready. Make changes one at a time, not all at once, like you're on a 'diet'. If you DIET, you will feel…

Are you stressed or depressed? Unlike most people, I lose my appetite when I'm stressed instead of eating everything in sight. Essentially, I'm fat when I'm happy. Strange, but true. Anyway, I never ate breakfast and didnt eat much for lunch, then Id eat a lot more later in the day. Also, I'm actually much hungrier if I do…

Oatmeal, whole grain old fashioned with blueberries and nuts. Healthy Life 35 calorie whole wheat bread Greens Roasted vegetables. I make red bell peppers/mushrooms/onions with almost every meal that I grill or stir fry. Brown and wild rice Beans, I prefer green beans though. Broccoli, but make sure you take Beano! Apples…

When you started c25k did you go into it crazy and run fast? If so, do it over again and jog as slow as you can. I had read that if you can jog slower, you are going too fast. It's easy to get burnt out if you absolutely hate your exercise routine. If you at least somewhat enjoy it, you are more likely to do it again. I…

If your problem is willpower: The same way I walk away from a Snickers bar. Not that I NEVER have one, just sayin. Tell yourself that each time you deny yourself a drink, or whatever else you think you shouldn't have so much of, it makes you stronger. If your problem is worrying about what people think if you don't drink:…

I know it's not realistic but... I'd be finding my best male friend, have him dress and act like a so called 'thug' she fears. Introduce him as your man. You could also say that someone was just murdered in front of your home the week before. Realistically, I'd probably just ask her why she's saying that. Repeat as…

YOU are worth the effort.

No, second hand smoke does not take years to cause harm. My father smoked when I was a child and by the time I was in grade school, I failed a breathing test that was given to all of the kids in my class They asked me if my parents smoked, I said yes, they said that is why.. I told my parents and dad said he wasn't going…

Raising Hope. It's pretty stupid but funny. :)

It is true that kids will eat what has been put in front of them. Good or bad! I know a child who eats junk because that is what his family buys and they wonder why he won't eat the 'good' stuff. Another child I know that is 2, tries to steal romaine lettuce from me and begs for oranges when he's here. So,, if they have…

You can but it'll run the battery down quicker, and from what I hear, it's a pain to replace it. What I did was wear it overnight once to find out what I burned while doing 'nothing'. It ended up being only 72 calories per hour. lol THAT encouraged me to get up off my butt more. I suppose you could wear it 24 hours on a…
