  • Headache. I can't really describe it with typing...but I can definately tell the difference between any other kind of headache and one that coming on due to dehydration. And, if I ignore it...it turns into a full blown migraine so I've learned NOT to ignore it. =D
  • Rock climbing (unless you already do it)! It's awesome and a great workout. Find a partner or group of people who want to try it out and get your butt up that wall. =D
  • It could be cysts (which seems likely since it follows a pattern with your cycle and cysts respond/change due to hormones), or some other things. The first ones that come to my mind would be a couple pain disorders to do specifically with the vagina: Vaginismus comes to mind most readily. It can be associated with…
  • Anyone have any updates on their Piriformis issues...? Or suggestions that you found particularly helpful....I have fallen victim........ Bump.
  • My only small annoyance is people at the office. I work with all women. I’ve commonly been referred to as ‘the skinny one’…etc. Which isn’t the worst thing in the world to be called! =D But, I am ‘officially’/medically considered ‘overweight’ for my height. So at the office, when I’m eating healthy foods, or keeping an eye…
  • I bought a HRM (Polar) from Meijer for like $35-40….can’t remember exactly how much. It was the cheapest version. It doesn’t do anything fancy, but it tells me my average heart rate for the duration of my workout…and I look at it while I’m working out to gauge whether I need to kick it up or slow down. Once I know my avg.…
  • Didn't read every response so sorry if this has been stated...but I saw some people saying that they took 'shots' of ACV.... Just want to stress that I don't think it's advisable to take it undiluted. ACV is very acidic and is bad for your teeth/esophagus if you take it undiluted. The OP is good with taking it in 16 ounces…
  • The balance ball idea is great. It really helps with your posture and core muscles…so it’s cool for the first day, then the 2nd day it starts to be a little uncomfortable while your muscles strengthen to support you, and then it’s great. Also, you may want to look into the possibility of your office paying to get a Just…
  • My ‘healthy’ weight range is “107-141”. I know for a fact that (*if I could even get down this much) if I weighed anything below 125, I wouldn’t be happy with how I looked. If I weighed in at 107 I’d look like I was starving myself, although I do know people on the lower end of that weight range that are the same height as…
  • http://www.mybodygallery.com/ This website allows you to type in height and weight along with 'body type'....and real women have submitted pictures of themselves and noted their weight/height. Some of their faces are blocked out though...but I think in GENERAL it *can give you some idea of what you'd look like at certain…
  • You just need to tell him sometime that you want to talk real quick, and be serious. Explain your motivation for wanting to lose weight and get healthy. And make it clear that it's very important to you, and that it would be a lot easier and a better experience if he was supportive. If it's important to you, it should be…
  • Thanks. =D Thankfully there are some healthy eaters/cooks in my office so they usually pull through for me when I'm not responsible for bringing anything in. I do have to say that my weakness is sweets so it was hard through the holidays!
  • I definately easily drink 8 servings of water/day. I usually always put Crystal Light or True Lemon in it though. I keep different flavors at work and home so I don't get bored with it. I have usually either a Gatorade bottle, large bottle water bottle, or re-usable water bottle and just refill it once. So the key is that…
  • If it were me, I'd stop what I was doing...walk over to her...politely/calmly explain to her that you'd heard what she said and that that's not very encouraging to gym patrons (which you are...a paying customer) and ask to speak to her supervisor. You join a gym to get exercise info from experts along with support and…
  • I'll start by saying I'm no longer a college studen anymore (but *hopefully will be a graduate student soon). I graduated from Ohio State in June, 2009. And let me tell you, trying to stay healthy in college....that was a slight challenge. =D I remember getting soooo much food for one meal swipe...it was crazy, and I ate…
  • I suggest also that you go get fitted at a specialty shoe store (for running). I have to do the same thing...coming up. I have Haglund's Deformity on both heels (boney protrussions on the back of my heels which aggrevate the Achilles Tendon), which makes basically my arch/Achilles/ankle/shins/and sometimes knees hurt. I…
  • I think I heard somewhere that it can save you anywhere from 1-5 grams of fat. So if that's worth it to you then blot away! I don't think that pools of grease on pizza is particularly appetizing anyway. And, every little bit counts. I'd say your soup swap technique is doing you more good than the pizza blotting, I bet you…
  • I’d suggest measuring yourself….measure your waist/thigh/hips. And, remember that if you're working out you're going to be building a little mucle and that's going to show up on the scale too, but that's good! I have tried eating healthy in the past (not dieting just making sure to exercise at least ½ hr per day and eating…

  • I thought the general rule was to multiply your current body weight by .37.....and that's how many grams of protein you should consume/day. So you would multiply 248x.37 = 91.76, so anywhere between 80-100 grams of protein per day. That seems like a lot too but I guess when you lose weight you cut down on protein….
  • For me it was a combination of things…. When I was in college I was actually really healthy and in great shape. I was doing my own shopping on a budget and I actually was buying great healthy quick meals (chicken/pork/brown rice/whole grain pasta/tuna…etc.), and I was running daily. I used to play soccer and run…
